now you having booting on usb which is the best way to do it if you have any issues. I would start to install all your needed kexts with kext helper. So you need to look up kexts for your chipset to get ide/sata working. Youll know if you are successfull because all your other drives will appear. Then you would need to boot of the dvd again and make an dmg with disk utility accessable from the menu. Then boot from your usb drive and restore to another partition or drive with disk utility again then install chameleon to that partition and that should be that but when you boot from the new partition boot with -v -f just to refresh the boot cache.

did you verify the disk after burning?

leonardodemarco 02-15-2009 04:55 PM

Yes

Yes, i've tested de Disk , and the verification was ok , consistency of the disk was ok too ... that messagem occurred after the verification of the disk in the proccess of installation , my partition was in the format fat32 , this may have affected de proccess?
And i not seen many examples of installations made with Phenomx3 processors that succeeded. This is the second Distro that dos'n work.

Im new with this and need some suport .

Sorry about my bad english, and thankyou!

you need to use the disk utility in osx install dvd to prepare your drive to partition it this will also format the disk to hfs which is the macs native format fat32 wont work thats your issue

Back with same problem

Hi Lawless,

I'm back, but with bad news. Now I can't get my USB drive to boot anymore - something happened with mounting the GUID in windows and overwriting it with MBR. Now I can't seem to get disk utility to re-format it with HFS+ no matter how I go about it.

So I plugged in an old IDE drive 80GB Western Digital. I re-ran the install and put it to that disk (no problem formatting or anything) added some custom kext from the menu that I think match my hardware, but I still get the IOWait error on verbose mode booting from any drive. The funny thing is that the one time I got it working off USB drive I could see all of my other media (DVD drive -with the install disk in, and my other 2 HDD SATA). How do I get past this error?

IOKitWaitQuiet() timed out wiating for kernel symbols
AppleNForce found 0 units

Can I patch your install dvd with an additional kext? What is your take on the situation?

run disk utility on the install dvd and dont just format, partition the drive
