I think that one would have to write a script which automatically detects the proper CPU Name, and which then writes this name into the AboutThisMac.strings file. I personally don't know how to detect an AMD CPU without showing "Unknown Processor" in OS X, however, I do know that some programs, like GeekBench, are able to detect it: http://www.imagehut.eu/images/30012Bild%201.png Kind Regards, Puttabong |
Hm, the System Profiler of Myzar 10.4.7 shows the correct information, I think (pic). Only the text 'InsanelyMac SX4' (for SiXty4) I inserted myself. If we should get the System Profiler so that he could display correct model names, they should be based on 'InsanelyMac' and 'InsanelyBook'. I think the forum deserves it, without Insanelymac we never would have come so far.
Also for RC2 DVD: Plz reduce the darwin wait time back to 10 seconds like in 10.4.x after the installation. I know it could be changed later, but its annoying. Could anyone create an apple.com.boot.plist editor? This would speed up things. Something different: Does anyone know a good trick to get the black arrows back in the dock? There are some mods, but mostly they set the dock to flat style, too. Are there some demo programs to show the Core Animation abilities yet? Greetings, Naquaada. |
Ah, I think that EFI allows to display it properly. At least your screenshot looks like EFI usage.

I wanted to commend Zephyroth on efforts made to make osx run in all its glory for us AMD users. Unfortunately the first revision from Zephyroth 10.5.1 did not work out for me. The dvd comes up and in the middle of darwin loading it kernel panics along the way and never gets to any installation screen at all.
Here are my specs from CPUz and curious if it is at all compatible with rev 1 and 2. Thanks! http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rcub/cpuz1.gif http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rcub/cpuz2.gif |
I have a Dell E521
AMD X2 4200 4GB DDR2 800 MHZ Nvidia 7300 GT NFORCE 430/410 Chipset Broadcom 440X NIC HD Audio Wondering if release 2 will run on it. I really, really hope so. I got 10.4 to work on it but that was only with a USB drive and the performance was unacceptable. Anything I can do to help test just ask. I'm sending this from my Kalyway install on my Intel Machine. I love Leopard! |
Will it recognise my HDD this time>?

I personally think that there should definitely be support for Chinese, as well.
