i have been burning on the lowest possible speed that i can whether it be 3x or 4x but either one i use i get the same error. i don't know about trying another burn because i have way too many DVD+R and DVD-DL coasters sitting around my room right now.
i really want to try booting from a USB drive. i am able to get my computer to boot from my 4GB memory stick. this gives me the hope that, if i can find a cheap 16GB stick, i can mount and install the image without burning. that woudl completely eliminate the broblem of having a drive that can't write for shit. i realize that 8GB would do in most cases but i would like to err on the side of caution since i want to do a retail install and that iso is about 8GB.
if anyone has any helpful advice on doing this, please, PLEASE, please help me out.
i would also like to say that i still need some help in finding the kexts and that other various whatnot to make my own personalized BOOT-132 disk using the slimbuild method. from what i understand this would be best because it would be using the kexts and kernels for my computer specifically. this would help eliminate the BOOT-132 disk for being at fault for a faulty installation.
