I did not develop the kext nor do I claim that I have or did, don't complain to me, I just brought the kext out of the hard to find places to out in the open.

Hey Mr. 00010 - it wasn't my intention to be offensive - it's just my personal opionion, that it ain't a crime to "borrow" software just for just for some scientific application instead of personal requirement. ;)
@Topic: If it's just about the vesa framebuffer / correct resolutions, you don't need to mess with patched X3100 kext files - you can create a tiny ext2 partition and install the GRUB bootloader with 915resolution patch to it. It will modify your video bios, so that you can use the correct resolution for your screen, using "GraphicsMode=" bootflag on OS X. :) This will be even more usefull, as it will work fine using 64-Bit Kernel on most Intel graphic chipset. (The Intel GMA kernel extensions of the latest 10.6.3 builds lost x86_64 capability again, so certainly the final one might be equally.) I have recently used this method when I was hackinotshing a friends GMA500 netbook and it's working fine on there. |
