Mine shows two cores as well. But it just looks better when it shows 2.

Anybody care to setup a tutorial in how to install the latest kernel?

Do any of you think this is one of Zephyroth's surprises since its probably not ToH who wrote the modified kernel after all?

What do you all think? :D

i don't think it was Zephiroth that made this or he would have said something somewhere on the forum

WinLinMac01, rename mach_922 to mach_kernel and use pcwiz's kernel installer, as suggested by DoiX:

Well, he did say something about "surprises." You never know, it can be Apple who released too you know (just kidding) =) Thank you whoever did this. And thank you to DoiX and Puttabong that have eased my kernel installation process. Greatly, appreciated.

@WinLinMac01, I believe the Pcwiz kernel installer is only for the kernel (mach_kernel) itself.

To apply the needed System.kext as well, follow this & backup your files before you start:

repair permissions:

sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/System.kext

replace mach_kernel with new one in / (rename to mach_kernel if its not already)- you may need onyx to show hidden files.
mach kernal goes in /

repair permissions

sudo chown -R root:wheel /mach_kernel
sudo chmod -R 755 /mach_kernel

reboot with -v -f
