is it anstinews.de block the free acct.?
I did had acct before when I down load 10.5.1, and now expired. I go and gave my email address and get the error like this: "erroranmelden". Does any one know what happend?
Thanks alot

WinLinMac01 03-12-2008 05:33 AM

You have to kindly request another user on this forum to enter your email address there. Your IP has already been logged in the astinews website, thus, it knows when you made an account. The # of accounts per each household, is one for each IP address. Too bad you can't renew that address since it all depends on the Internet Service Provider, lol. Ask someone through the Whisper Box. Choose random users. Someone ought to register you by simply registering your email address (a different one of course). Thats what I did yesterday. Check who is online right now, and whisper box them. You never know where you will get. Good luck, and let me know if you need any further assistance. ;-)

thx Winlinmac01! you are a fastest helping man in this forum! I did not know that they keep track on ip. Do you think they also keep tracking on email address too?
By the way, how too using the whisper box ??? this is new for me hehehe

WinLinMac01 03-12-2008 05:44 AM

Yes, according to what I experienced, they keep a track of email address too (you can always create a free email at any of your favorite email providers)
the whisper box is used when you want to PM (Forum language) someone. To use it, type the name of the user you want to send a message to (case-sensitive), and input your message. You should be receiving message later of course. To find out if you got a response, when you log in, you should be seeing the name of that user Last Active on the Whisper Box (that way you can find out if he/she responded to your inquiry).

Well, be aware its IP that your ISP registers to you, not your system, not your home network. Keep in mind that. =)

I hope to see somebody who has got the iso over nntp to join me.
I got my iso from alt.binaries.mac.cd-images and have joined farcaller on seeding his torrent.
Is nobody else out there going to be kind enough to help seed?

Thanx

Hello.
Where can I get a ppf (450.2 Mb) instead of full .iso image? Don't wanna wait downloading 2 days with my ISP =)

I hope my video card (NVIDIA 6600GT's 2xSLI) work as they used to with Zephyroth's previous releases along with QE/CI enabled. Anyone experiencing trouble with GUID install?

@P-j, how did the GUID configuration go for you? All went smooth?

The ppf isn't finished yet, it will take about 2/3 weeks as zephyroth stated
"I plan to make a ppf in 2 or 3 weeks with other fixes, NatitX1300, the latest QuickTime and iTunes ... etc."

Hit 03-12-2008 01:54 PM

Thank you so much for using Usenet(Takes about 30~40Min to download now for me :D)
Toobad you didn't upload the 8GB Version, I have some Dual Layer discs here

EDIT:
And why didn't you add PAR files, I hope it all goes fine but if only one rar misses a byte all the data can't be used unless there are par files

WinLinMac01 03-12-2008 02:27 PM

If you were able to download all 71 files without a hitch, I doubt there should be any other problem(s). =)

Hmmm... Maybe its not so hard as I think to make ppf patch having both 10.5.2 AMD EFI rev.1 and 10.5.2 AMD EFI rev.2? =)

WinLinMac01 03-12-2008 03:16 PM

Hopefully the PPF will address some of the issues other users are facing such as dual booting Mac & Windows.

Forgive me if this has been answered already but I am a little confused on my options. I have rev. 1 installed runs great with a few minor (some unsolvable: PS/2 Keyboard) issues like my sata dvd drive and bluetooth recognizing my Microsoft optical desktop bluetooth keyboard. Will downloading and installing rev. 2 fix this or is there a method currently available for me to update 10.5.2 rev.1 to rev.2?

Well usenet it really big there is a very big chance some bytes get lots while being send over all servers, that's why the PAR Repair system was build up
luckily tough the RAR's where all fine

WinLinMac01 03-12-2008 09:42 PM

Well, if all 71 files are extracted without a hitch, most likely there shouldn't be any problems.

Could the SAM Multimedia error could be off a faulty dvd burn?

Yes. Try the slowest speed, such as 2x.

@minibuu, try a method similar to this: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107586

minibuu 03-13-2008 01:24 AM

I got a chance to test the keyboard out on a windows laptop. Something was wrong with the keyboard, but after dropping it a few times it works now. I am actually able to type with it and couldnt be more happy. Now on to my next issue....

What do you recommend for someone that has Rev. 1 installed that only needs sata support? And possibly sleep support.

bajanboy 03-13-2008 01:43 AM

I have just installed Zephyroth leopard 10.5.2.rev2 and for the most part all went well except that when I was finished and before I get the desktop I get an error message about the RTL8187L.kext not loaded. The message is
System extensions cannot be used
/System/Library/Extensions/ rtl8187.kext was not improperly installed.

I changed the ownership and permissions on the extensions folder but that did not help.

Has anyone seem this with their install?

System
Asus: M2N32-SLI Deluxe MB
2 gig DDR2 memeory
320 gig SATA HD

In the mean time, I will reinstall !

gaz919 03-13-2008 03:53 PM

bajanboy

you just need to use kext helper it is in the install now, find the kext and drag it into kext helper

then type in you admin password, go advanced press permissions and script, note the script on the right (this is a kext install script with permissions)

Then choose run.

It will install and the permissions will be fixed

Good Luck

WinLinMac01 03-13-2008 04:12 PM

He must have done that, but did not specifically state that he did. bajanboy, have you tried using kext-helper to install the kext?

He said

"I changed the ownership and permissions on the extensions folder but that did not help."

This seemed like a wrong approch to me.

he may not have used kext helper yet.

And he was a bit quick to want to reinstall for a simple permissions issue.

Hi. I have the same mobo... Try this: delete rtl8187.kext and Realtek WiFi utility from Applications. Then reinstall that utility ( http://ifolder.ru/5581660 ). Maybe reboot needed. And wait a minute - connecting wifi network isn't immediately. I have my wifi worked, although it's determined as ethernet card...
Good luck! If you don't have sound try this: http://ifolder.ru/5581653

bajanboy 03-13-2008 05:59 PM

No, I have not used kext-helper, I used these command;
sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extexsions/*
sudo chmod -R 755/System/Library/Extexsions/*

Actually there were two error boxes that popped it after the install (sorry no screen prints), one was complaining about the rtl8187l.kext not loaded properly loaded and the other was a security/permissions error on what I remember to be the /LibraryStartupItems directory.

I re-installed without the RTL8187L driver an all is fine(no errors), I decided to use my D-Link DWL-G122 USB stick for my LAN but would rather have been using the WiFi on the MB.....will continue to investigate !!

btw, the problem seem to be the driver client software that is loaded of the kext it self.

eswenson 03-13-2008 06:44 PM

Does the Zephyroth 10.5.2 Rev2 image include the drivers for the ATI SB600 southbridge chipset? I have an ASUS M2A-VM motherboard with the AMD 690G chipset and cannot get past the "waiting for root device" error. I've changed DVD drives, swapped master and slave drives (I have an IDE HD), to no avail. I've seen reference that the SB600 drivers have been posted on this forum and am willing to try to build my own bootable image with these drivers, but I wanted to know whether Zephyroth already incorporated these drivers in this Rev2 image.

new2osx86 03-13-2008 07:14 PM

No luck for me, "Still waiting for root device", hehehehe. I know it may be of my Nforce 560 chipsets. I so tire with editting the AppleNForceATA.kext and inject again to iso image and burn, boot again because the latest kext was issue a message is does not support for my device 0x56010de.
Solution: WAIT FOR A NEW RELEASE OF SUPPORTING KEXT/S. I know that hihihihi
Good luck for those still trying to make it work.

eswenson 03-13-2008 10:36 PM

Assuming that the Zephyrod 10.5.2 Rev2 image does NOT have the SB600 southbridge patch, how do I go about making a new iso image with the patch applied? I don't have a working OSX machine right now, so would have to patch the iso using linux (or windows). I've seen some instructions on how to update the iso, but they all require a working mac. Is it simply a matter of updating the Extensions directory on the install dvd with the new contents of the SB600_SATA_ATA.zip archive? Or is there more to it than that?

Freosan89 03-14-2008 01:23 AM

Just installed Zephyrod 10.5.2 Rev2 and it was first success after Tiger for me, rev1 hangs during installation. The installation though didn't run well from normal mode(frozen 39 min left) and went fine only under -x. I've got few issues now. Can boot only with -f(same on Tiger), graphic card doesn't support CI/QE(works on Tiger with same NVinject 0.2.0),DVD not reading, Itunes not playing from Ipod or CD,Lan not working(didn't install any 3rd party drvrs),no sound. Looks funny. What is working then? Any advice appreciated. Thanks
And my complex spec:

Hp XW9300
Tyan K8WE mobo(Nforce4) with havily modified Bios 2.09 from Hp,
2xOpteron 252(2.6 Hgz) SSE3 support
4gb DDR 3200ram,
Nvidia Qadro 3400,
Seagate sata 320gb

WinLinMac01 03-14-2008 04:49 AM

Give your specs to Zephyroth and he should be able to do something about it.

Wow... Zephyroth 10.5.2 r2 is the FIRST (only) Leopard AMD dist. that will actually get to the OS X Installer on my Compaq V2312us laptop!

I still don't know if the Installer will be successful, but this is a HUGE step for this hardware! Pretty cool. Only way to even try my lappy before was via external HD. If this comes close, I may have to try "Hack4lies - err - life"s ATi 200M .kexts... (heaven forbid!)

WinLinMac01 03-15-2008 02:44 AM

Glad to hear its working now cgsheen. Pretty soon the whole AMD planet / hardware will be support. :DD

Search the forums, please. Oh...you can most likely find it through the bay, or tinyurl.com, its floating around. Be warned that the speeds are incredibly slower in torrents than Newsgroups. =)
