Updated successfully iDeneb 10.5.6 to 10.5.7.
Steps to update: 1. backup your voodoo kernel (sudo cp/mach_kernel /mach_kernel.voodoo) 2. update with apple's software update 3. on the next boot, boot with mach_kernel.voodoo 4. copy the voodoo kernel over the original apple kernel (cp /mach_kernel.voodoo /mach_kernel) |
hello all,
i have succsefully updated my iPC 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 following the netkas method (the simple one). all i had to do is patch my sound again and that was it. System seems a little more responsive. |

1) make sure you have dsmos/appledecrypt and appleintelcpupm disabler kexts installed to /Extra
2) update ich10r users - you dont need legacy kexts for ich10/ahci anymore, 10.5.7 supports ich10r out of box (since new macpros has ich10r), need only legacy ahciblockstorage, to fix orange icons. This is taken from netkas`s site and even the shutdown/restart seems to work :) I have vanilla kernel and a patch for the audio. |

Successfully installed. Now using stock kexts from Apple for graphics, for some strange reason my system is not loading AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer. Still using VoodooHDA, and still having usb issues. But it works like a charm. |
hei
didn`t worked for me ... i lost everything now
Intel® P45 / Intel® Core™2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 Ghz / 4GB DDR2 800Mhz RAM / 8500GT 512Mb / 1XDVDRW, 2 x HDD SATA II / iDeneb 1.5.6 |
Upgraded my 10.5.6 retail installed using Boot-132 method.
All works fine. Just in case, before clicking Restart I've reinstalled Voodoo Kernel. |

You can "Archive & Install" by following my instructions.
Quote:
1) boot to your hackintosh install DVD 2) Choose a language and on the next screen open 'Terminal' from the 'Utilities menu' at the top. 3) Use the "ls" command to view the folders. 4) remove everything with the "rm -Rf" command EXCEPT for /Users & /Applications 5) when only /Users & /Applications remain, install the OS. When the OS has finished installing you may have to do your necessary haxies to get it working, but once its up you should have your user account and applications. I have done this more than enough times and it has worked every time on my AMD setup. Good luck. |
