Results, I installed the update without EFI, and it still works, however, I would have to wait for 2 minutes or so for a display to show up. Anyway to fix this? Also, is there anyway to install kernal 9.2.0 separately and configure EFI without USB Drive? Please help, thanks.

About the 2-minute wait: it said so in the description of the file in the bay: "If you don't have EFI installed be warned that you will sit at a black screen for about 2 minutes waiting for the desktop to load with the old kernel(9.1.0)."

Glad to hear its working for people, until a new kernel is released that works on non EFI machines the only way i know of avoiding the 2 minute wait is running in VESA mode .ie no QE/CI.

As far as configuring EFI. You need to have some other source to store the files to set it up. I think it could be done from the install DVD from terminal, but you still need a mountable source other than your OSX drive to run the startupfiletool.

eddie is right, im pretty sure a spare fat32 formatted drive would do the trick. as logn as it's read/write i guess

I installed the update and everything is running smoothly but one thing I noticed is that in System Profiler, for the number of cores its just showing 1. I have AMD X2. Before the 10.5.2 update, it was showing 2. Also is it safe to install the Graphics update?

Same here - just shows one core. Both are working so it's no big deal though... I (stupidly) went for the "graphics update" from the Apple Software Update. Shouldn't have done that! It just brought back the NVDAresman kernel panic for my 8600GTS and I had to find a graphics installer that worked again. PITA...

Otherwise the 10.5.2 AMD Update was GREAT! Thanks!!!

I'm running 9C31, EFI, with the 9.2 kernel

(oh, it crapped out Toast... I don't have a problem with anything else, just Toast...)

Yep, toast don't work here no more either. Photoshop recognises my graphics card perfectly though and 3d acceleration seems to be working.

Well for me, i downloaded the lastest NVinject.kext 0.2.1 (search for it in Google "nvinject.fr") and Netkas SMBIOS.kext (located in PC EFI V80 folder) Sudo Chown & Chmod both of them, repair disk permissions and reboot it and everything worked out perfectly "Toast", "Time Machine" ...hope it helps

Thanks! I forgot Time Machine!
