Do not confuse all.
Man, if they re confused by such a post, how can they work with Leopard *g*

Quote:

Your card doesn't allow QE/CI ? Ok but Rev.2 will not do anything more for that as long as a suitable driver will not be available.(or maybe you're not skilled enough to make it work ...)
.
It works under 10.4.10/11 ... not under Leopard .. due to ... whatever ;o)

Quote:

I'm not recoding Leopard ...
Damn, and I hoped for that ;o)

Quote:

Making an OSX86 release is just to put some things together (kexts, apps, some scripts ...) so that it will work on most systems.

I'm not waiting for anything. I don't have any release plan.
And again ... damn ... nothing to put in my Outlook to remember ;o)

I'm not organized. I'm just free and I will continue to be.
Sounds like an Apple commercial .. but a good one ;o)

Those who want a new release ...

I've just one thing to say : All they have to do is to make one or be patient.

*sigh* ... OK .... I ll wait ... BTW ... THANX for Rev.1

oops that was supposed to be a wisper

naquaada 01-29-2008 05:37 AM

Ahm, silly question: Has anyone tested zephyroths image on an Intel machine? Would it work or it's absolutely AMD-only?

1207FX 01-29-2008 07:01 AM

@ naquaada

I can, its sse2 though. I'll get back to you on it......

naquaada 01-29-2008 04:19 PM

RC1 is SSE3 only

1207FX 01-29-2008 05:17 PM

lol you are correct, with confirmation worth a shot though.....

[cite] emaildopedrooo:[/cite]Hi zephyroth,

My motherboard is ASUS M2N-E, with NVIDIA nForceź 570 Ultra chipset.

I've tried to install the Tiger releases (TubGirl and iATKOS), but I don't have success. I cannot format my partitions, they just appears at Disk Manager, but they're inactive (a gray color).

So I just wanna know if you have beta testers for nForce 570 chipset, because I've read somewhere that the problem it's the chipset, and not my SATA HDD.
emaildopedrooo:
I too have an nForce 570 board and I've installed Zeph's 10.5.1 Rev 1 onto my machine without issues. Pretty much all of the older Tiger releases - inc. Tubgirl's, would not even boot from the DVD if the 570 chip is present. I'm sure Rev 2 will be absolutely fine for us nForce 5x users. Just for your information; my board is an MSI K9N SLI AM2 with an AMD64 X2 6000+

I am not very sure, but someone with two machines got Leo on his Intel machine instead his AMD with Rev 1. =)

naquaada 01-30-2008 04:31 AM

I had myzars 10.4.6 image - which was also mainly for AMD - installed on an P4 and it worked. Curious is only that the P4 was detected as Dual-Core...

Yes. Spill it...

prateesh 01-30-2008 11:55 AM

I downloaded the 3.35GB .iso read the Release notes.
For some reason, it says that this image is part of the Leopard Developers Preview.
Is this the version that all of us are using or is it some prerelease software thats been out way before t?
When downloading the torrent, there were 71 files that were stored in a folder named "Documents."
Upon extracting the .iso, the DVD was a whopping 4.7GB disk.

Please let me know if this is what everybody is using for 10.5.1.release of zephyroth

And will QE/CI will work on nVidia geforce go 6150 ?

zephyroth 01-30-2008 03:13 PM

This is the good one. No idea if QE/CI will work.

vinbuntu 01-30-2008 07:14 PM

So let's hear your solution. Perhaps you can put onto the wiki for others to try. As well as posting it on insanelymac and share with the people over there as well. But let see if I can duplicate what you've got.

01-30-2008 07:28 PM

Ok, everyone let me make a how-to, only thing is its on tiger, im going to do some experimenting with leopard - rev2 (zep) and later on today im going to to post a screen shot - if you dont believe me -

Notes
Major mouse taring
a random kernel panic about once a day
Dock sometimes has the problem the new mac pros are having - cant remember what its called
Ill post later today - this will probally show up on the osx86.wikidot.com because thats where I have full write access, and maby on insanelymac.

PS - My solution involves being an ADC and getting the documentation then getting the linux driver from ATI and then try to find out how it addresses the memory (kinda hard cuz its not open source) then I hex the hell out of the system and reboot and walla QE/CI - still working on hardware acceleration though - but ill have that soon! ;)

sorry for the spelling - im only 12

Wyatt M.

01-30-2008 07:32 PM

im currently making a disc image of my osx86 just in case anything goes wrong - might be easyier to just upload somewhere and let people download it off there... im on the imac right now, so i wont be able to make a how to until later on today

vinbuntu 01-30-2008 07:42 PM

So does it mean you are going to make a driver? or You are going to upload a bunch of files for us to hack it ourselves???

01-30-2008 07:53 PM

I doubt i would make a driver, like i could... but were talking a bit longer then....... ill get to work.....

vinbuntu 01-30-2008 07:59 PM

Do you think that the EFI-GFX solution from Netkas would work better mixed in with what you have so far?

01-30-2008 08:07 PM

ummm while again the GFX would be a hard because its nivada so, i have another theroy.....

the intel GMA950 addresses its memory same as the 1100/200m/200 meaning that if we could get vanillia on the amd we would have qe/ci with no editing but thats imposible because 200m only works on amd meaning its never been done... so if we took apart an intel driver and got exactly how it addresses the memory we are in bussniess for an easy driver with no hexs or anything... my ways complicated... and i would only recomd you use it if your comfortable with editing kexts/hexing/and able to reinstall osx if anything goes wrong

frying_fish 01-30-2008 09:53 PM

Have you had anyone testing on a sis based system. If not then I could do that this weekend, I'm currently away from university and my amd box, but am heading back up on friday. I can give you exact chipsets when I get back but the major parts are:

AMD X2 4600+ S939
BFG nVidia 7900GT/OC
Asus A8S-X
Creative Audigy 4 (non-pro)

If possible I wouldn't mind helping test rev 2 and will give more details about it when I could.

EDIT:
just grabbed the chipset details and such from asus website so:

Chipset: (Northbridge)SiS 756, (Southbridge)SiS 965L
Audio: ADI AD1986A (if I get audio through either onboard or audigy thats cool)
Lan: Intel 82540EM PCI Gb LAN

01-30-2008 10:00 PM

7600GT/OG isent supported is it? im not sure so dont critizise me because im an ATI guy not Nivadia - i cant even spell it lol

01-30-2008 10:02 PM

Also please post your full specs

01-30-2008 10:09 PM

have you tried alliza audio? package? and are you using the rev 2 or the origional amd leopard disc?

frying_fish 01-30-2008 10:12 PM

If you'd actually read the post you'd notice I said I haven't actually tried putting anything on it as yet, since I'm away from my machine.

Reading the other specs and other thread I've seen there is support for the Nvidia 7 series cards. Also what more spec do you need than my processor, motherboard, graphics card and audio setup? Anything else is just peripheral really.

01-30-2008 10:17 PM

sorry, im a bit out today, i mean could you list all your processor features - (eg - see sse2, see3) blah blah...... and please dont be rude, your the one who wants help right?

;) Wyatt M.

frying_fish 01-30-2008 10:27 PM

Ok, although I would assume the capabilities are the same as all other X2 chipsets that have been mentioned previously, but here they are anyway, (admittedly from the amd product data sheet and wiki)

Manchester (90 nm SOI)

* CPU-Stepping: E4
* L1-Cache: 64 + 64 KiB (Data + Instructions), per core
* L2-Cache: 256, 512 KiB fullspeed, per core
* MMX, Extended 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, AMD64, Cool'n'Quiet, NX Bit
* Socket 939, HyperTransport (1000 MHz, HT1000)

Anything else on the processor front?

Oh, I wasn't being rude, just a bit confused as to why you were leaping in with multiple posts about the thing without being a bit more careful (generally helps to write more than one sentence in each post, and if you happen to post before you meant to edit rather than making another post [ just future advice for a bit nicer read])

01-30-2008 10:34 PM

yeah, the reason I do that is because some noobs or complete idiots don't read edits so as standard I just use the multiple posts....

Big experience from insanely mac

oh, and as for beta's talk with bonkey..

P.S i deleted your second post

Athlon64 X2 6000+

Asus M2N-SLI deluxe
GeForce 8600GTS
I'm a coder and musician, and I've worked with OSX for years.
Pretty much everything works with r1 except the dual onboard LANs. And I'm writing a driver to make that work. So it's not like I'm mooching off anyone.

Anyway keep up the good work Zeph.

prateesh 01-31-2008 12:32 PM

Any Idea why this error is and how to solve it

I am using 10.5.1 release

compaqdrew 01-31-2008 01:19 PM

Yes, reburn the DVD at a slower speed.

prateesh 01-31-2008 01:29 PM

I used lowest burning speed possible 2x

do i need to reburn dvd again

This my md5 checksum is this correct

compaqdrew 01-31-2008 01:34 PM

That error means that Darwin can't read from the install disk, for whatever reason. Typically this refers to a bad burn. Depending on your burning software, it's unlikely that the ISO was corrupt (unless you got an error when burning). More likely is it's a bad burner, bad media, need to reflash cdrw firmware, etc.

eard 01-31-2008 01:40 PM

Yeah, i thik the same
Maybe the quality of the DVD isn't good ;(
Spend a little more buying a better DVD, that should work, also the slow burning,
anyway, i've burned my tiger isos and the leopard rev1 at 6x and no problem =) (my only problem was that my hd wasn't recognized by the tiger and leopard installations :'(
good look ;)
Reading, answering and waiting for the Rev2 from Mexico =)

prateesh 01-31-2008 03:56 PM

Reburning DVD with 4X ( eariler was even lower 2x ) solved the problem

Even my inbuild keyboard & touchpad are working along with my sata hdd; which is also recongnized during installation

Will do installation tonight & post result here late night (Indian Time)

megaargon1 01-31-2008 06:00 PM

Ah, Prateesh, thanks for bring my post to this discussion. That settles mainly all of my problems. Indeed, I am still anxious for Rev. 2 as this would reduce the complexity with the bootloader problems. For all of those that are part of the developing team for Rev. 2, below are my specs. Please incorporate them so I can run a true flawless O/S. Two Thumbs Up!

Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology K8NXP-SLI, nForce 4 SLI Chipset MOBO
Central-Processing-Unit: AMD 3500+ Venice Core Socket 939 Processor, SSE2 & 3 (not overclocked)
Memory/Modules: 3GB PC3200 DDR-400 RAM, (2x1024MB Corsair 3200C2PT, 2x512MB Crucial Ballistix)
Video/Graphics Card(s): 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT (Gigabyte Technology) (2x128MB in SLI Mode)
Hard Drive (HD): Western Digital SATA 320GB Hardrive w/ 16MB cache
Burners: 8x NU DVD Burner
Other Disk Drives: 1.44MB Floppy Disk Drive

Other Peripheals-
Realtek AC'97 Integrated 16-bit Sound Card, 7-channel
Marvell Integrated 10/100/1000 Ethernet
NVIDIA Integrated 10/100 Ethernet (using right now)
GA-WPKG Wireless 54mbps Wireless Card (Gigabyte Technology)
IEEE 1394B (Latest)
4 USB Intergrated Ports 1.0/and/2.0
Thermaltake PSU, 550-watt (Peak) Power Supply Unit

MacOSX 10.5.1 Leopard Rev. 1
Lastly, does anyone know if Leopard supports SLI?

I like where the Zephyroth Leopard 10.5.1 AMD Revision 2 is heading with all of the bug fixes and compatibility issues. Instead of paying Apple, we should be paying Zephyroth instead for all of his hard efforts. Yet at the same time, if my migration to Apple works for me, I will definitely hit the green button, and purchase a new Macbook Pro instead. :-) It Feels like PC's (for Windows-based) are going through a renaissance and are rejuvenating, haha.

xlslx 01-31-2008 11:09 PM

FOR: zephyroth - and all others...

hey. iam new here but i got your first AMD iso with torrent.
is it possible to get the latest iso from you because i want to be a beta tester!.
i definately wanna run leo on my HP Pavilion dv6130eu Notebook. So if i would get the latest iso everytime
i may can help you. i will so if i get it.

Iam a Student at Tu-Dresden (Media Computer Science Diploma, 4th semester) so my technical skills arent the badest ones
but my english isnt the best ;) sorry for that!

// type-in edit by puttabong: "badest" - aaah! it's "worst" : D : D

Greetz, Martin

in the attachment there is my first install attempt of your very first amd iso and my notebook using my SATA HDD on external USB Drive Bay....as you can see :)
all worked fine until installation finish - at the end the timer stops at <1min until finish, and only my mice reacts but nothing else....thats all. i wereŽnt able to boot
this shit. i tested the method with dvd-reboot and terminal->fdisk -e /dev/ bla, and so on...but this doesnt worked...
i can send you a second image were i made the fdisk thing and booted with my sata hd remounted in my notebook....but there it stops too. but the informations may help
you!?

Don't worry, read the wiki about the 1 minute left installer freeze bug.
Also it's common for Rev.1 to install no bootloader!

It's rather easy to fix the bootloader, it's well documented in this forum,
all you need to know / tell me is whether you used MBR or GUID.

02-01-2008 03:26 AM

I dont think rev 2 beta installed the bootloader on mine.. MBR - i get blinking cursor after the install

xlslx 02-01-2008 03:46 AM

i had created 1 partition using HFS+ Journaled and GUID Table in the Options Tab - then i installed the whole OS w./o. French Language.
can you tell me where i cand find a solution?

megaargon1 02-01-2008 08:16 AM

When is Zephyroth Leopard 10.5.1 AMD - Rev. 2 going to be available online? Is Zephroth uploading the image right now? I am so eager to work this out. Please tell me, thanks.

prateesh 02-01-2008 03:39 PM

HI All,

Today morning i tried to install the 10.5.1 release
It went fine some usual problem like "Installation Issue: Hanging at 1 Minute Left"
But that was resolved with the help of excellent wiki maintain here http://osx86.wikidot.com/known-issues

How ever is also faced the issue of "com.apple.GeForce; com.apple.NVDAResman Kernel Panic Issue"

I tried the solution metioned in wiki but i am not able to reach till command prompt where i can enter those commands

Attached pic is the error wht i was getting & The system kind of freezed there not allowing me enter anything

Please tell me wht is this problem & how to solve it
