I really cant see where is the problem.everyone with a8nsli premium mobo has sound... thanks for trying to help! |
Just got the 10.5.1 release to be stable yesterday, but just couldn't hold back from installing 10.5.2. Don't know if this was right, but I installed this directly over 10.5.1 w/ no formatting / erasing of the partition. It booted right up, no problem. Bootloader used "EasyBCD" - Very simple to setup. All previous settings still in place and all devices (except sound) working. Heck this update even fixed the cursor video distortion from 10.5.1 which I experienced. Thank you and nice work Zephyroth.
My system: If it helps - OS: MacOSX Leopard 10.5.2 (Zephyroth) CPU: AMD Opteron 1212 - 2GHZ Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-M61P-S3 / NVIDIAŽ GeForce 6100 / nForce 430 chipset Mem : 3 GB DDR Graphics : ATI 128mb Radeon x300 Audio : Realtek ALC883 Audio Codec Ethernet : Realtek 8139 Hard drives: IDE w/ Vista - SATA w/ Leopard DVD : Atapi |
Zeph how can I incorporate Medvil kext for sata support. Also any other things I should do (EFI , NVInject). Machine I will be using this DVD on is below. I am not a Hack or Mac noob so do not worry about breaking it down into noob speak. Thanks.
P.S I will edit the DVD on a Mac if I need to. A64 X2 3800+ - A8N SLi Deluxe - 1 Gb - 7800GT 256Mb - 200 Gb SATA2 - Wireless G - 42" Panasonic HD Plasma |

The same thing happened to me (if you read the previous posts of mine). I simply moved the mouse and the progress bar moved to the present state. I don't think it is really something to worry about. The installation is not freezing, guranteed. Hope this helps. :-)

I have followed the post about SATA install and I still can't get past "can't find root device". I put on a IDE HDD booted with the install disk, went to the terminal and mad the SATA partition active. I installed the Leopard and on reboot it wouldn't boot into the SATA drive. Any suggestions?

Might be dumb but I cant seem to mount it read write. I am following this to the letter.
1. hdiutil attach /"Leopard.iso" -readwrite 2. Download this zip ----> _http://rapidshare.com/files/92865467/Extensions.zip.html 3. Extract it in the Libary folder of the DVD. 4. Remove the Extensions.mkext file. 5. Add the kext you want in the Extensions folder. 6. Fix the permissions on the newly added kext. 7. Recreate the mkext file that way ----> kextcache -a i386 -K /Volumes/"DVD"/mach_kernel -m /Volumes/"DVD"/System/Library/Extensions.mkext /Volumes/"DVD"/System/Library/Extensions Eject, then boot |
