karma check for today:
There once was was a user that whined
his existing OS was so blind,
he'd do better to pirate
an OS that ran great
but found his hardware declined.
Please don't steal Mac OS!
Really, that's way uncool.

I checked for that option but that was no where to be found. I did hear people not having the option. If I don't have that option I don't think other users have at all either because Zephyroth made the image only once. Is there any reason why I don't that checkbox? Attached with this post is an image of how it looks. Thanks. =)

Does anybody know if MacOSX Leopard 10.5.2 support SLI Graphics, (2 video cards bridged)??? I would love to enable that feature. Thanks.

[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]@cgsheen, are you able to see an option for making the menu bar translucent or not? Last question: I was forced to name my volume with only one word. However, in the O/S environment, I changed the name and put it back to Macintosh HD. Was this a safe thing I did?
Ya, the "check box" for "Translucent Menu Bar" is there in the "Desktop & Screen Saver" options menu in System Preferences.

I don't know how you could use both the 9.1.0 and 9.2.0 kernels... That's the guts of the whole system - everything else is built on that. You choose one of the kernels (NOT choosing 9.1 or 9.2 loads the 9.0.0 SSE2/SSE3 kernel...)

I don't know about re-naming the partition. Mine are always short and simple...

EDIT:
I've got this working well on my "2nd Zephyroth" machine - still using an external HD - specs:

2nd of 3 working installs:
Zephyroth 10.5.2 - MBR + EFI - 9.2.0
MB: Gigabyte GA-K8N51GMF-9 - nForce 6100/430 (I/O Winbond W86327) Socket 939
CPU: Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+
Drives: 2 SATA, IDE DVD burner - Boots OSx86 from external USB, Firewire drives work
Video: Gigabyte 8600GTS 256MB PCIe ( supported natively - QE/CI )
LAN: Airlink101 AWLL3026 802.11g USB (ZyDas software for 10.4.x) onboard RTL8201 disabled
USB: 1.0 & 2.0 (supported natively & working properly)
Firewire: Onboard VIA VT6307 IEEE1394 controller (supported natively)
Audio: Onboard Realtek ALC880 - ANALOG AND DIGITAL (S/PDIF) working with AppleHDA "beta4some861_880Installer"

Toast 8.0.3 - working
MS Home & Student 2008 - working
GarageBand - needs Marvin...
Transmission 1.05 - working
Time Machine, iTunes, QuickTime, Front Row, all the built-in apps I've tried - working

This is running nice...

For GUID do this:

How to: Fix the GUID bootloader (Blinking cursor)
There's an issue with the script that installs the GUID bootloader.

Easy to fix :

1 - Boot with the DVD.
2 - Press F8, then type "-s"
3- type "cd /usr/standalone/i386"
4 - type "dd if=./guid/boot1h of=/dev/rdiskXsY bs=512 count=1 (X is the disk number and Y is the partition number on which you installed Leo)
5 - type "dd if=./guid/boot0 of=/dev/diskX bs=400 count=1
6 - type "./startupfiletool -v /dev/diskXsY ./boot_v8"

GUID bootloader must be now installed correctly.

Quote:

[cite] gaz919:[/cite]Ok I just finished installing and my testing.

conclusion was I couldn't boot from guid partition because the first disk always read rdisk0s2
And sofar The only way to make the first partition read as rdisk0s1 was to use mbr. at least It still has efi installed.

Maybe somebody can work out the guid install and post it.

I also noticed that during -s when booting from disk you couldn't use sudo, su or passwd .

but i found a NEAT trick, as the install on disk is in its last minute get ready for the countdown to off, as it counts down click the utilities and terminal. an now you can do you fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 ........... and set the boot partition as active.

I also tried the AppleUpdateDone touch, but it didn't seem to work, as I still had to passwd change and su.

one major flaw is my 3800x2 only has one core in system view, im not sure if it's the 9.2 or just a flag for stability, but I think when I workout where the cpu=1 is hiding it will go back to normal.

Also Need another few fixes will prob try to load with -s on first boot next time and see if I can get around the passwd setting, and remain as root, using the TOUCH .......AppleUpdateDone.

So good luck im sure in mbr mode most should have no troubles.

If the mod could start a thread about using guid partitioning and make it a sticky we may work it out faster. It seems to have worked for some.

Hai pal how did you manage to copy extension folder into system - library of your mounted iso?
Leopard keep telling me there isn t enough free space to copy extension but it's only 33mb.. please help

Quote:

[cite] macprodan:[/cite]Might be dumb but I cant seem to mount it read write. I am following this to the letter.

1. hdiutil attach /"Leopard.iso" -readwrite
2. Download this zip ----> _http://rapidshare.com/files/92865467/Extensions.zip.html
3. Extract it in the Libary folder of the DVD.
4. Remove the Extensions.mkext file.
5. Add the kext you want in the Extensions folder.
6. Fix the permissions on the newly added kext.
7. Recreate the mkext file that way ----> kextcache -a i386 -K /Volumes/"DVD"/mach_kernel -m /Volumes/"DVD"/System/Library/Extensions.mkext /Volumes/"DVD"/System/Library/Extensions

Eject, then boot

zephyroth 02-19-2008 09:52 PM

try

hdiutil attach -readwrite /"Leopard.iso" -owners on

WinLinMac01 02-19-2008 09:54 PM

@zephyroth, is there any reason I don't have the option to turn the translucent bar off in the Desktop and Screensaver Preferences?

braid 02-19-2008 09:56 PM

ok guys I read about the newsgroup, but there is no other way to download it? no ftp? no torrent? no other way?
