prateesh 02-01-2008 07:06 PM

zephyroth,

Just for confirmation
I have to apply ur suggest solution in the terminal utility after booting from the DVD
or on the boot menu of dvd with flag as -s !!!

And also to mention that i have nvidia geforce go 1650 graphics card .... if I remove all the kext related to geforce & nvidia won't it break something other ????

Puttabong 02-01-2008 07:49 PM

prateesh, don't worry, It's not going to break anything.

To get rid of that firewire error whilst booting (in your case in single user mode), disable 1394 (FireWire) in BIOS.
It's not a problem to re-enable it later, as it will work.

Just disable it for now, and when your System will be set up,
then enable it again and you'll be able to use FireWire flawlessly.

Boot with -s again, or if it doesn't work, boot the dvd and use the built in Terminal.

Make sure that you type these commands as given:

Quote:

mount -uw /
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/GeForce.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/Ge*.kext
rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/NV*kext
exit
After you successfully booted up your system (and only if you are on Rev.1),
install zephyroths NVIDIA drivers, which can be found at the wiki http://osx86.wikidot.com

lugmor 02-01-2008 08:26 PM

I remove all GeForce and NV kext's and remove -v -legacy. Works fine for me without trouble. Big thanks for all people who work on this project and for helping us to run it on AMD machines.
My comp. runs on both cores.
Problem is with booting(can't boot at all and for booting i\m usinf tiger-install tiger and over it iinstall leopard and problem solved).
Thanks again and god bless u all.

Puttabong 02-01-2008 08:31 PM

:) Nice!

The bootloader is also easy to fix though!

lugmor 02-01-2008 08:50 PM

Puttabong thanks for posting fast. Will u tell me how to fix booting without installing tiger first. I try'd with fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0s1 and all similar apraches but still nothing.
One question. When will be rev.2 and will it be ppf file or whole DVD. I ret'd to putt darvin boot loader in this AMD leo but still did not test it ( i putt it like in iatkos 1.0i in disk utility folder).
Thanks in advance your truly friend Lugmor.

I guess we should stop asking to be beta testers. I've asked 2x and didn't even get the courtesy of a reply. I'm just going to wait patiently.

megaargon1 02-02-2008 09:36 AM

I agree, and just to let you know 10.5.2 has released.

Any idea when when rev 2 is coming? I'm kind of lucky guy running Leo on one of my machine(Asrock 775Dual-915GL 10.5.1 Kalyway GUID) with no problems, but I have Compaq laptop and my second machine both based on nvidia mcp51 and rev.2 is my big chance. I see from discussion that this nvidia chipset should be supported at least in case of SATA, not sure about keyboard or mouse. Thanks for all the work Zephyroth.

delian7 02-02-2008 11:09 AM

10.5.2 has been released? The moment has come? HALELOOYAH! (lol) Can you give me the download link??

bhast2 02-02-2008 11:48 AM

if it has been released? Where can we get it at?

zephyroth 02-02-2008 05:14 PM

10.5.2 Apple update has not been released yet ... So my ISO has not been released too.
And for those who complain that I've not reply to their request of being beta testers ... If you knew how many people asked me ...

prateesh 02-02-2008 06:30 PM

Just want to share my experience of 10.5.1 release

"Resolution was very low ... tried Zephyroth NVidia Universal Installer .... But no luck
"my Video card is this on 6150 http://www.nvidia.com/object/mobogpu_nb_6series.html"
"Lan did'nt worked neither my broadcomm wireless"
"DVD writer deteted properly & working perfactly"
"NO QE/CL for me :("
"Sata Hdd is readonly"
"No Sound from my Conexant Cx20549 @ nVIDIA nForce 430 (MCP51) - High Definition Audio Controller PCI"

But there are other problem also like
HDD won't boot without DVD in drive
Sometime error comes because of which "Still waiting for root device" comes ( I mean if i try to boot 5 times then 1 time is success rate)

Any suggestions/Solution for my problem

sh0td0wn 02-02-2008 09:32 PM

For sound, get AppleAzalia ALC88x kext, it will work for you since we got the same one.
LAN, buy one of those 10$ Realtek cards or find them somewhere if you kept all of your used ones at home.

I have no help on your 6150, it seems that we can't have QE/CI on onboard GPUs that use system memory.

megaargon1 02-02-2008 11:39 PM

May be I shouldn't trust those Mac Rumors sites. According to an actual version tracker site, MacOSX 10.5.2 is in its last step before being finalized. It shouldn't be long. Zephyroth's DVD can be here today or tomorrow. According to the talk I had with Apple, Rep told me 10.5.2 is in its last stage, RC2 (in Windows Language, lol). Once the final is released, Zephyroth will integrate that update and upload the final copy of rev. 2 on all of our favorite P2P sites. I can't wait. This is going to be great. Let's all consider donating Zephyroth for his efforts! Zephyroth, do you accept Paypal,? :-)

I think we must stop to ask for be beta testers, 10.5.2 will come out in few days and so Zephiroth rel.2 I think.
I think also that Zephiroth is able to contact everyone on this site or on Insanely Mac (by PM, mail, everything) if he needs someone for test. If he don't needs more testers maybe there's a reason.
For me I contributed in testing video drivers on 8800GT, but no beta testing and I am waitng patiently for the release using Zephiroth Rel.1 as my primary system.
So: Good work Zephiroth, take your time, keep us informed on progresses!

delian7 02-03-2008 03:15 AM

I am so excited and can't hardly wait for the 10.5.2 release to be released. Does anyone know if you have to have tiger installed than update to leopard for it to boot properly. Also does anyone know whether my LAN which is: Realtek RTL8201N will be supported in 10.5.2? Also my video card which is: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430, and my sound card, Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 6.0.1.5502 will they have compatibility in 10.5.2?

Oh because I am a noob, if I didn't specify any hardware specifications, you can find all about my computer at this page:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3440614&os=2093 &lang=en&

Thank You everyone, and thank you Zephyroth for your constant work on the release of 10.5.2.

sh0td0wn 02-03-2008 06:59 AM

Hmmm, I don't think there were ever onboard 6150s on real Macs but if somehow can someone can edit the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 or X3100 kexts since they are onboard graphics that use system memory I think.

I hope that the new nForce ATA uploaded by MeDevil are included in 10.5.2 Rev 1.

C.Logan 02-03-2008 07:05 AM

Hi all,

I realize that zephyroth is still working on the Rev. 2 and will release it when he is ready, however, I was wondering if us Rev. 1 guys could get the updated Nforce LAN drivers (force-deth) in order to use 2 CPU cores without Leopard freezing.

Thanks,

Chagani

lugmor 02-04-2008 05:51 AM

Still problem with booting if install leopard without tiger before but my system using 2 cores AMD X2 6000.

sh0td0wn 02-05-2008 10:13 AM

Yeah. It was an answer to that.
I have the same problem... No QE/CI..
Best bet is to get those cheap nVidia 7xxx GPUs since they are compatible.

Just wondering if 8600 GTS is supported in the nVidia installer because I will be replacing my onboard with this very soon.

Mine is working just fine... So is our 8600GT.

lugmor 02-05-2008 01:53 PM

Hey Zephyroth is there any chance that u can make ppf file that can set com.apple.boot.plist form -v -legacy to -x (safe mod) that people can boot and delete GeForce and NV kext's and to set boot if they canot boot without DVD.
That is my problem and many others. Only solution is that one, as i can see from my point of view. I know that rev. 2 is coming soon but that will be very nice if u want to do that. I will try to see what can I do but one way or another everything is up to you.
Thanks in advance and we all waiting for your rev.2.

X_LaMer 02-05-2008 06:59 PM

Hi Zephyroth! I'm from russia and on our national bit-torrent sevrer there are a lot of people who waits your Rev. 2... If I only could place Rev. 2 on our torrent server, there woul be much more comments, how your new build works... Besides, I, myself, have AMD s939 4200+ processor and can hardly wait to install the newest build of MacOS X Leopard on my computer! Can you give me an ability to download Rev. 2 ?

DoiX 02-05-2008 10:55 PM

xlamer.. rev2 :) is still in beta :) so.. its not released to the public

altair1979 02-07-2008 10:23 PM

Here's my problem with Leo AMD Rev.1, I don't think it's mentioned before, so here it is :

I installed Leo on my AMD 64x2 AM2 4200+. Nothing went smooth, I got ALL kinds of errors, 1 minute Hang, NVidia and GeForce kernel panic, can't boot without DVD, you name it. Using suggestions found here and on insanelymac I got through all those problems (still can't boot without DVD though, tried evereything). So I get to the Setup Assistant where my USB keyboard is identified, languge options and finally "User Account Creation". I just enter login info and then everything freezes with beach ball spinning and a message saying "Creating User Account". Using MacDrive I can see all accounts I tried to enter were indeed created. So I try anything I can find, disabled onboard LAN, even booted with "Graphics Mode"="640x480x32" and it seemed to work 'cause I got a message saying that "The setup assistant can't start in this resolution" (or something like that), but when I press OK so everything can continue, guess what...grey screen with th beach ball. And that's it, nothing beyond that. Any help would be apreciated, however I don't expect much.

P.S. I'm using MSI K9n - Nforce - 550

Other than that Zeph you're the man, keep up the good work, and hurry up on that Rev.2 thing...can't wait!!!

xlslx 02-07-2008 11:46 PM

Iam using a Turion 64 X2 but i cant help you with that.
the only thing is that there will be NO final Rev.2!

It will be 10.5.2 Rev.1 ;) (not 10.5.1 Rev2) ;)

Were you able to install rev1 into anyone of your SATA hard drives? I think you installed it into your ATA, isn't it? If not so, how did you do it?

Thanks!
