hello,

frankly i havent tried or tested the VGA output sofar (dont use it that much) :) and as for the webcam, i have found a software that helps you flip the picture of the camera so you have a proper nonupsidedown picture, but i forgot its name :P

cheers

flip360 02-03-2010 02:42 PM

ad_47incv 02-03-2010 05:37 PM

Thank you very mutch , for you help :)

teierina 02-03-2010 06:35 PM

Hi guys,
nice to post my first post here! After a lot of reading now I've got K50IN! Thank you for your job!

To start off course i need the retail DVD so I've got 10a432, hope the good choice.
Now i'm installing 10.5.8 to have desktop to restore to USB an use "installnow" to have DSDT and on...

Managing also to buy a DVD DL to burn the retail and try K50IN boot CD.

Is it a good start?

LAMPS!!

teierina 02-03-2010 08:58 PM

No luck with USB procedure (see post #1)... it boots and hang while loading installer, no KP, just freeze.

But loading the USB via K50IN boot cd, and off course executing "installnow", it install.

WOW

flip360 02-03-2010 09:12 PM

yep, its a nice little compatible piece of hardware, too compatible IMHO :P

ad_47incv 02-03-2010 11:21 PM

hi,

I confirm it is compatible besides, I'm glad I found one forum will help me a lot.

Otherwise try the version of hazard is a repeack the retail version, but it's not a DISTRIBTION

teierina 02-04-2010 05:43 PM

I'm now burning it, will post results!

Buhgalter 02-05-2010 01:32 PM

ASUS-K50IN-BootCD.iso v1.1
Changes log:
1) touchpad is working(VoodooPS2) during the installation and when the system starts with bootCD
2) disabled graphic enabler and added NVEnabler x64 ...
3) now the sound works from bootCD
4) you get almost fully functional system is already at the first run

teierina 02-05-2010 05:19 PM

OK, so i can say that ASUS-K50IN-BootCD.iso v1.1 boots perfecly Hazard distro and I can get to desktop in 15 minutes. 10.6.2. off course.

BUT system starts without BootCD only with -x... Ethernet native, battery ok
To every one reading I have to specify that I'm barely total newbie :)

Any suggestion about kext to choose in Hazard during install?
I'm going to try and prey, which is useful to learn, but any suggestion will be welcome!

teierina 02-05-2010 07:32 PM

NEXT STEP!

Now i can install direcly from Hazard distro, just adding cpus=1

After plain install, no kext selected, i can boot with -x

Then i copy the Extra folder and NVenabler in E/E and kextutil to fix permission.

Now i can boot. Very GOOD! In just three boot!

It's time for QE/CI and wireless

mao_red 02-07-2010 03:33 AM

installing sl thru sd card. thanks for the bootcd! :)

after the restart, it won't boot at all. so i tried to use the bootcd again and installer, i got this error:
SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully. (failedCommandInfo =0x1)
Still waiting for root device

what am i doing wrong?

just try again, sometimes it maybe the errors without fixed DSDT

Boot the Retail DVD:
When the bootloader ask you for rescan, press ENTER.
Go to boot options (f8), Swap disks, then press F5 to rescan drive. When the name of the DVD appears, press ENTER.

ok, I managed to reinstall SL. and boom my k50in Hackbook is alive!:)

keyboard is ok, trackpad, ethernet...I am using it right now

does bootcd will always stay on the optical drive to be able to boot on osx drive?

and another thing, how will I update it to 10.6.2? what's the next step after successful install? total noob, sorry. :D

thanks for the help!

mao_red 02-08-2010 01:36 AM

ok, just updated to 10.6.2

I do a lot of back reading on this thread.

I'm just figuring out how to install chameleon to be able to boot on drive.

cheers

Mao

flip360 02-08-2010 02:12 AM

there is an installer package over here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=201850 , works very well, just be sure to check which drive you are installing chameleon onto :)

cheers

K50in - sx025c

Hey guys.

I am a newbie to this forum so this is my first post. I have been a long established Apple user and love Mac OS X, but have been considering a Hackintosh recently.

I have been searching around for the K50IN and have come accross this: K50IN-SX025C.

http://greatdigitalart.com/index.php?dispa...product_id=1310

I can see that the graphics card is the same but the chipset appears to be different and so does the CPU.

Does anyone have any experience with this laptop? Anyone know if it will work?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

ellnic

ad_47incv 02-08-2010 11:26 AM

hello, I have a kin aus sx035c

Everything works without worries apar my vga port is not recognized and my wireless card

if not for the rest:

His
Ethernet
Headset
SD card
and QE / CI
my webcam image is used in places with a Iglass (Buhgalter thank you for the info)
Are functional

I' have snow leopard 10.6.2 by hazard and a have all update

ellnic 02-08-2010 11:55 AM

Thanks for the reply.

Sounds like this may be worth a go :D

I have an original 10.6 DVD - From what I have read, this will work with the Asus Boot CD? Or is it preferred to have the one by Hazard?

I wouldn't use VGA out - but wireless could be an issue - I have a Sonnet Aria card that I could use - might order the Dell 1490 a/b/g mentioned on page 1 - although I would like 802.11n.

Cheers :)

EDIT: Sorry, meant to ask - is your lappy the Intel GM45 Express Chipset?

teierina 02-08-2010 01:04 PM

Could you please indicate how to get QE/CI?
Kext used? Particular procedures? Adding devID in some plist...
I'm now using NVenabler64.kext...

I'm dual booting, good chameleon, some sleep issues but the worst is no QE/CI so I would like to solve that first.

Thank you!

ASUS N50VC FP008C - Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 15.4 " - 4 GB Ram - 320 GB HDD

Ah ha -

This may be better - Will have to check out the spec in more details....

ASUS N50VC FP008C - Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz - 15.4 " - 4 GB Ram - 320 GB HDD

Anyone got any ideas?

Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 / 2.4 GHz
Mobile Intel PM45 Express
NVIDIA GeForce 9300M G

Also has:
Bluetooth 2.1 EDR
IEEE 1394
And a few other things which the SV025C did not.

Anyone got this machine? Works? It's only £40 more. Seems worth the investment!!

EDIT: Found out that the CPU is the same as Macbook 13" - but not sure about the GPU & Chipset.

ellnic.

You can boot your system with boot CD...
Have you added an extra folder with your kexts after installing the chameleon?

You can try ASUS-K50IN-BootCD v1.1 with this device. There is a big chance that it will be work fine.

Hi Buhgalter. Yes, I'm still using the bootcd that you made. After I intalled chameleon, restarted the notebook, placed all kext on the extra folder and on the s/l/e folder and used kext utility for permissions, still no go..where should I place the com.apple.boot.plist?

I'll try it again this time..

teierina 02-08-2010 04:55 PM

Hi guys,
everything ok except for QE/CI using flip360 EXTRA.

Is there any particuar procedure? Now i'm using NVnject and NVenabler64, buto still no luck... Do I have to remove GraphicsEnabler from boot.plist? Or something else?

It seem that everyone is getting it working with NVEnabler64... i feel myself stupid!! :)

About QE/CI OSX 10.6 is not showing those in system profiler anymore, you will have to check with http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/ ;)

axelus 02-08-2010 11:41 PM

Hi there,
First of all i'd like to thank you all!

I own an Asus K50IN-SX147C

i've installed Snow Leopard with the BootCD1.1 and its working fine so far.
When I boot from the CD its ok, but when I want to boot without the CD
(first i've installed the package from this link http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/ind...owtopic=201850)
, I always get a Screen that wants me to press the Power Button...
I booted in verbose mode too, but I don't know what I should do with the information ^^
( I've never done anything with or on a mac before, so don't be too hard to me...)

greets

How can I create a Dual Boot install?!
When I try to install SL on the same disk as Windows 7 i am always getting an error that says i have to install on an guid partition table (But I don't want to reformat the Drive), first i've created a Mac OS Extended (Journaled) Partition and marked as active.

So what to do now?!

You can look here.
And I can say that I have installed 10.6, after that I installed Windows to the second partition. All was fine. After that I booted from boot CD into the OSX. But when I have installed Chameleon v2 onto the EFI partition it broke windows os...

UPDATE: New ASUS-K50IN-BootCD version 2 is available with new features and no bugs!

Quote:

ChangeLog of version 2:
1) A touchpad is working during the installation and when the system starts with bootCD (ApplePS2Controller.kext compiled special for Elan Ps/2 Port Smart-Pad by Rus).
2) Corrected info.plist in HPETDevice.kext for better compatibility
3) Included a folder of Tools (Kext Utillity, Show-Hide Files tool, Chameleonv2RC4.pkg by Dr.Hurt).
4) Included a folder of Kexts - all the necessary drivers

Ok. Now my dual boot works perfectly.
I have the dual boot with chameleon (installed on EFI partition)!
I have booted from windows DVD ( run > cmd > diskpart > select disk 0 > select partition 3 > active > exit )& reboot. One more time I have booted from windows DVD. And I have repaired my windows without any problems. After that I set the EFI partition as active from windows ( run > cmd > diskpart > select disk 0 > select partition 1 > active > exit )
After reboot and chameleon works fine...

Here is how you get the better looking Apple logo at the boot phase.
  1. Look at your /Extra/com.apple.boot.plist file.
  2. Find a line with Kernel Flags
  3. Remove the -v that you see there. That actually means, verbose boot, which shows all these debug verbose boot message, that can used to somehow debug the boot process.
If you need it back, just add the -v in, or during the boot:
  1. Select your Hack partition (that one that contains the Mac)
  2. Type directly -v
  3. The press Enter key

What's up flip360. Could you share your Extra folder with us? I never got sleep to properly work ...

I tried once, and it seemed to work, but the PS/2, the Trackpad and the USB (including the mouse that I clicked to wake it) is no longer working. Resulting in a non-responsive system.

I could press the power button, and got the choice to shutdown, restart ... but since there is no keyboard working, I couldn't validate anything. So, had to reset the computer.

mao_red 02-11-2010 08:10 PM

thanks koko! I also had same issue with sleep..

should i put asusk50in.kext on the E\E to be able to use my webcam? :) and for volume hotkey?

cheers!

flip360 02-11-2010 10:49 PM

hello kokozedman, i had the same issue as you before but after replacing the voodoops2.kext with the ApplePS2 modified by Rus all is working well after waking from sleep, even the keyboard too :) if you are unable to find it i will upload it :)
Thanks to Buhgalter for the info!

Cheers

Work sleep only 64 bit, with the use GraphicsEnabler = Yes in Chameleon or DSDT patch, EVOenabler.kext,NVinject.kext,Natit.kext(correctin g info.plist). Need ApplePS2Controller.kext_by_Rus and patching IOAudioFamily.kext (audio wake up after sleeps).

Dont works sleep if use 32(64) bit used NVEnabler.kext, and VoodooPS2.kext, not modified ApplePS2Controller.kext.
Good luck.:D

mao_red 02-12-2010 04:46 AM

Hi!

Suddenly, my webcam worked! :D so everything works fine; Audio, dvd, vga, trackpad, I can reboot and shutdown with no problems, except for the volume hotkey (Fn+volume keys) and sleep.

I followed the previous posts about it. After waking up, all are just fine. Audio works, keyboard, video but the system hangs. I can see and move the cursor around the screen but no activities at all, i can't launch an application, dock doesn't respond, just a moving cursor, weird!

drade 02-12-2010 09:23 AM

I'm trying to download the K50IN Boot CD version 2 but depositfiles.com always reply that there are no free slot for my coutry...

Could someone up it in another place?

I've seen with glviewer (GRAZIE) that I'm not harware accelerated, maybe is that the reason why i can't see anything in iWeb.

Anyway actually waiting for the new WiFi (Dell 1490 from ebay $8) I've reched a boot time of 25 seconds from PowerOff to Desktop, i'm so proud, audio works, network also, but i'm still playng around to learn how to understand if what i'm doing works or not!
