It would interest me why are so different problems with the nForce 4 chipsets and how to recognize the differences between nForce 4, nForce 4 Ultra, nForce 4 SLI, nForce 410, nForce 430. Does it belong to the onboard chips? My nForce 3 and nForce 4 SLI boards have Realtek ALC850 Audio and Marvell 88E1115 LAN, they're working 100% including SATA. Another nForce 4 board without SLI has Realtek ALC655 Audio and Realtek RTL8201CL LAN and it's also working prefect. A friend has an AM2 board which also shows nForce 4 as chipset, Realtek Audio ALC850 Audio works but not LAN, I think it was an Attensic chip or something else. How about a little nForce 4 differences list to compare the problems?

pαuℓzurrr. 01-28-2008 04:04 AM

This is my nForce 430 (MCP61) without SLI, Realtek RTL8201CL/CP for LAN, didn't get LAN to work but some are saying it should work with forcedeth, Realtek ALC888 for Audio, which works with ALCinject, SATA not working with rev 1 but should work in 2 ;)

crawle 01-29-2008 02:35 AM

Hey roisoft!
Does this nVidia kext work on my Zeph Leopard? Maybe with it I can get my dual monitor work.

-crawle

roisoft 01-29-2008 02:41 AM

I don´t Know, You can try it and post your results here :)

crawle 01-29-2008 02:43 AM

And if it won't work? ;-)

roisoft 01-29-2008 02:49 AM

crawle 01-29-2008 03:05 AM

tala 01-29-2008 05:06 PM

please how can I Download this Rev2

naquaada 01-29-2008 05:55 PM

pay $6000 to this froum, I'll think you'd get it then.

Puttabong 01-29-2008 05:59 PM

hehe, naquaada, right you are.

I'd send a Rev2 DVD via post... if one donates a small forum fund :)

phreakazoidz 01-29-2008 06:03 PM

@puttabong .... How much...??

:)

naquaada 01-29-2008 06:05 PM

If a donation would be for a good purpose I had no problems with it - I also donated at insanelymac.
Forums like these keep OSx86 and it's community alive, in our case a very close community. If we only had insanelymac for zephyroth's DVD we couldn't have shared so many information - and it's very much fun in here.

Puttabong 01-29-2008 06:13 PM

Friends, first of all, donate to zephyroth for his awesome work! And then, if you really like to, you can consider a small donation for the forums.

@phreakazoidz: I have to check how much it costs me to send a small envelope with the DVD :D

naquaada 01-29-2008 06:20 PM

A really great thing would be an OSx86 party - in the C64 and Amiga demo scene this is common, the people are coming from all parts of Europe, sometimes all of the world. It would be a way to find people with the same interests and it would be a perfect way to betatest in realtime cause there are a lot of different platforms available.

1207FX 01-30-2008 07:56 AM

lmao, for some of us, would be much cheaper to buy the new mac :)

creative_ 01-30-2008 08:00 PM

I have kernel panic with apple efi kext in rev 2 :(
dont know what to do =(

Puttabong 01-30-2008 08:06 PM

creative, Rc2? Did you actually choose the proper packages such as SSE3 Kernel at "Customize", before Installing?

creative_ 01-30-2008 08:10 PM

I didnt chose SSE3 Kernel i think will try again. Nforce driver and MBR Partition is right for me im at Nforce 5?

Puttabong 01-30-2008 08:10 PM

If you click the arrow next to nForce Driver, then you can choose between nForce 3/4/5 and others.
You have to pick the right one. :)

If you chose Guid to partition your Leo Harddrive, then choose GUID at Customize as well.
If you chose MBR, then choose MBR Boot fix.

Greetings

creative_ 01-30-2008 08:11 PM

hmm cant remember ^^ I will try again and report here :)

01-30-2008 09:59 PM

Wil this take 5 hours to install on my labtop like rev 1?

creative_ 01-30-2008 10:27 PM

Ok i tried now there is an other kernel panic :((

I took some screenshots

01-30-2008 11:40 PM

remove the intelcpupowermanagment.kext with the -s command if you cant make it there make likee a 5 gb partition and then install tiger, then do it from there... you should be able to boot then

creative_ 01-30-2008 11:41 PM

yep thought about it isnt it important?

Puttabong 01-30-2008 11:52 PM

This is what zephyroth says regarding that kext:

Quote:

Wow ...AppleIntelCPUPowermanagement shouldn't be loaded ... It shouldn't be intalled !!!!
I've just made a fresh installation of Beta2 and it's not in Extensions folder.

creative_ 01-31-2008 12:11 AM

i cant boot with -s :(

creative_ 01-31-2008 12:17 AM

very strange :(

Puttabong 01-31-2008 12:24 AM

Boot up in the Installer DVD and use the Terminal to delete it?

cd /Volumes/YourDisk/System/Library/Extensions/

DoiX 01-31-2008 12:29 AM

creative i too got this error because my hdd wasn't erased properly, it still had some old leopard parts :) try using the 0 option or format it to ntfs (from windows) then in hfs(try not journaled), if puttabong's solution doesn't work

Yes good work by zephyroth. Better speed with EFI

01-31-2008 02:46 AM

Great!, 19* more minutes until my install is done - hopefully no problems, or else illl have to try to fix, or wait another 5 hours, creative_ are you MBR or GUID?

creative_ 01-31-2008 02:49 AM

I'm MBR whats the difference to GUID?

frying_fish 01-31-2008 02:49 AM

wow hackintosh, can't believe its taking that long for you, I know when I was trying the kalyway install on my laptop (which I think unfortunately the hardware may not work with, possibly a bit old) but that was only claiming to take just over an hour, but then again even getting to the installer took 25mins-30mins.
