Rev 2 didn't fix my mouse/keyboard issue, and adding in the logitech drivers didn't help either.
I'm certian that this mouse/keyboard issue isn't so much a mouse/keyboard issue but a USB support issue directly related to my motherboard. Others are having the same issues on the AMD nvidia reference-like motherboard models(Foxconn amd 590, evga amd 590, bfg tech amd 590). My only hope is to cross my fingers that another build might work for me. |

hi there, me again ;)
i didn´t got USB with my Keyboard and Mouse working ;( Nothing (replacing *.kext files in the iso) or change from USB 2.0 to 1.1 or disable ACPI support worked for me ;( |
@ standard
I'm having the very same issue with my USB mouse/keyboard. I'm pretty sure it's a USB I/O issue and not something directly related to the mouse or keyboard. I've tried a number of different things to try and solve this problem but nothing I do appears to help. I'm in the process of trying different 10.5.2 builds, and I'll let you guys know what the outcome is. |

Why? Thanks |

When I boot the leopard install disk(generally with -v, but have used -v -x -s -f in many different combinations), the boot information looks healthy, it probes the USB devices and finds them, but about a second later it calls for a I/O reset, and that seems to turn off my USB devices(I've used PS/2 devices, and the same thing happens). I've tried a million different things, and especially the obvious things. I really don't think there's anyway to get around this issue without compiling a new USBIOFamily.kext that matches this motherboards I/O ID's. |
How about ext3 support? is the same that can destroy partition or can i use it sure?
I'm blushed |
Hey guys, I downloaded Zephyroth's Leopard 10.5.2 EFI Rev.2 but I can't install it. When I try to boot like many others I get the dreaded "Still Waiting For Boot Device"" message. I've been looking through forums all day but can't find a solution. I removed my SATA DVD Burner, and set my IDE DVD Rom as master and still nothing. When I type in -f -v I get EBIOS errors.I burned the ISO at 4x using Nero 8, so I don't think the DVD has any errors. Any Suggestions?
Here Are my specs: AMD Athlon64 X2 4600+ 2 Gigs DDR2 800 Corsair Ram WD SATA Caviar SE 250 Gig XFX GeForce 8600GT XXX IDE Sony DVD Rom (Master) |
I have tried both Zephyroth dists and both of them start from dvd but when the Apple Logo appears the background goes grey and a windows appears that writes that I should restart the pc in various languages. What is wrong? I burn the ISO on a DVD+RW, is this wrong or my specs are not compatible?

Start reading... Here, at the Wiki, and Insanelymac. And remember, there's no guarantee OSx86 will work on EVERY AMD setup.
|
I have removed the AppleNforceATA.kext and then burned the image again, but now then the apple logo appear it starts to load something and then it appears a stop sign over the apple and stops every process.
I have tried to search on insanelymac for an alternative kext, but the search module is not working. I am googling it but I don't have any luck until now. |
Try with the tiger version of the nforce or appleviaata.

Hello,
I have the following set up: MoBo: Asus M2N-E / NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP CPU: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ Audio: ADI 1988 8-channel High Definition Audio (ADI 1988B not working) LAN 1: NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP built-in Gigabit MAC with external Marvell PHY (not working) LAN 2: Linksys lne100TX (working!! using tulip.kext) Video: Nvidia GeForce 7300GT 256MB PCI-e RAM: 4X1GB OCZ Gold XTC PC2-6400 DDR2-800 HD: SATA 500GB (Ubuntu Gutsy, Zephyroth 10.5.2 EFI) DVD: LG GSA-H55N DVD+RW 20X8X16 DVD-RW 20X6X16 INT IDE Firstly: I'm trying to get my audio to work, I have attempted to run the AzaliaAudio.pkg (from your wiki http://osx86.wikidot.com/utilities-resources) but I get a message telling me to "run the audio preflight script", I am confused, what do I do? Secondly: I keep getting an error regarding ext2fs.kext, to the extent that it can't be found or is not set up correctly, the permissions look good and I have run "diskutil repairpermissions /" a few times. Sorry for the vagueness, I'm at work, I can post more details later, I'm just currently obsessed with getting this to work. Zephyroth, thanks for all your hard work! This is awesome and lots of fun! |
For audio use this
and for the permissions open a terminal and type sudo -s (type your password) cd /system/library/extensions chmod -R 755 * && chown -R root:wheel * cd .. rm extensions.mkext kextcache -a i386 -e reboot |
Thanks!
I just noticed that my ext2fs.kext is located in "/Library/Extensions/ext2fs.kext" and not "/System/Library/Extensions/ext2fs.kext" for some reason... |
Hi all,
Last night I tried to install this (Leopard 10.5.2 Rev2) for the first time and encountered a few errors. Basically, it hangs every time I try to boot from the DVD, with one of several errors. The first time I tried, I booted normally. Shortly after the "Apple Screen" was displayed, a "No" symbol was displayed across it and everything came to a halt. I then booted with the -v option. It booted to a point and then stopped, saying "Still waiting for root device." I rebooted again, still using the -v option. This time several errors were displayed (some problem with sandbox and several with mDNSResponder, among others), but the boot process seemed to be continuing until it loaded the NTFS drivers, and then it just stopped. No panic, no error, no nothing, it just stopped. Here's my specs: M/board: AMD M2N-SLI Deluxe CPU: AMD X2 4400+ Video: Gigabyte 256MB 7300GT HDD: Sata II DVD: IDE In case it has something to do with my partition table (I say this since sometimes it hangs on loading the NTFS driver), it's something like the following: /dev/sda1: 'Empty' /dev/sda2: W95 Ext (LBA) /dev/sda3: Linux swap /dev/sda4: Linux /dev/sda5: NTFS /dev/sda1 was previously NTFS, with Vista installed, but I marked this as empty and was planning to install OS X here. To be honest, I don't know where the hell /dev/sda2 came from because I never created it... seems to be the partition-table's version of a symlink; has the same start & block count as /dev/sda5 which is a 200Gb partition I used to share data between my Windows and Linux systems. If anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it :-) Thanks! |
Okay, I have an update.
I just tried to boot the installation again, this time with -v cpus=1. I tried this twice and both times it halted with "Still waiting for root device." After this, I tried just booting with "-v" again. This time it actually seemed to boot... I got a fancy GUI with a language selection dialog. Only problem is, neither my mouse nor my keyboard seemed to be working. The mouse wouldn't move at all, and trying to TAB to the button didn't seem to work (and hitting Num Lock seemed to do nothing). Both my mouse and keyboard are PS2--will this be causing any issues? I thought I read somewhere that you shouldn't have any problems as long as the mouse & kb were both USB, or both PS2....? Thanks again :-) |
roisoft,
I tried running the Azalia_ADI1988.pkg, however, my audio is still not working... I have to boot Leopard using the "-x" option, if I don't use "safe boot" the computer hangs via the spinning beach ball at a black screen. The black screen looks like the screen just before the the desktop loads, so close! Anyway, my point is because I'm safe booting I have to manually load my tulip.kext using kextload, so maybe my audio is not being loaded due to safe boot. However, I tried "sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAzaliaAudio.kext" but that didn't work either. I think I give up at this point, I'm going to wait to see what the future holds. Thanks very much for the help though! |

Plus, it's weird that without any additional fix in the installation I cannot see my hard drives during install and then I see them all after booting the installed leopard! I got a X38 board with a ICH9R controller in raid mode with 2-2drive raids and 2 single disks. |
connecting to smb shares requires a fix, as it is broken in R2.
something about aliases, fixed most easily by eddie11c (i forgot the thread) |

Hi to all,
I have a small issue I’m having with (RT2500USBWirelessDriver). After I install Leopard and reboot my network work with out any problem until my next reboot or start my Leopard my network it does not see my USB card until I disconnect the cable and connect it again to make it work. And way to make it connect all the time? |
I think there is a real fix for this somewhere but until you find it just add -f to your com.apple.Boot.plist
|
I am a new one at the Hakintosh arena wink.gif , and i want to ask some questions...
i have installed successfully the Zephyroth's release (10.5.2 Rev2) on my PC: AMDX2 3800+ 3gb RAM Nforce 570 Ultra (Asus M2N-e motherboard) Onboard Lan Sound: Onboard (ADI1888 High Def Audio (onboard)) The installation went smoothly (after connecting usb mouse/keyboard - PS2 does not work??) and the system loaded successfully afterwards; the only pitfalls: Lan Card, Sound and Video Card.... I have fixed the LAN problem (using forcedeth_nockd.kext). I have not succeeded fixing the audio. I have tried the azaliaaudio.pkg, some adi 1888 packages, but with no success. Can anybody suggest a solution that worked at the Nforce 570 Ultra platform? Regarding the graphics, my video card has 512MB but Leopard only recognises 256.. I am using NVinject 0.2.0 and all resolutions are shown (1280x1024). Another issue is the No Quartz Effects at the "About this Mac" section... Besides the above, the operating system crashes very often; the screen is greyed out and i am forced to reboot my pc... I have noticed that this happens whenever i try to download the Mac updates or when i am downloading something.. I would be glad if somebody could tell me how can i see the kernel messages so as to identify the problem. I am suspecting the LAN driver, but i am not still sure about this. I would be glad to hear your comments and to have the community's valuable information... Thank you! |
I don't think many people are left using the nforce lans because of this problem and to my knowledge there is still no real solution.
As for sound it might be easier to get a supported usb device. Lastly graphics I would start by checking that your device id is in the appropriate kext files. nvinject geforce.kext Nvdanv50hal.kext for 8 series nvdanv40hal.kext for 7 series nvdaresman.kext In all you need to look for a line like this in the .plist file <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x029210de</string> and insert your device id 0x"your id here"10de |
It may seem dummy, but how do i find my device's string?
Additionally, only two Info.plist contain the id you mention; nvdanv40hal.kext string>0x004010de&0xfff0ffff 0x00f010de&0xfff0ffff 0x022010de&0xfff0ffff 0x014010de&0xfff0ffff 0x016010de&0xfff0ffff 0x009010de&0xfff0ffff 0x01d010de&0xfff0ffff 0x039010de&0xfff0ffff 0x029010de&0xfff0ffff</string> nvdaresman.kext <key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> <string>0x019310de 0x061110de 0x019110de 0x040710de 0x060010de 0x042110de 0x042710de 0x040210de 0x040010de 0x042210de 0x040910de 0x000010de&0x3e441fff 0x0000ffff</string> I suppose i have to leave only one string, am i right? Thank you lanxxx for the info!! |

Hi All.
I already install Zephyroth Leopard AMD 10.5.2 Rev.2. but I still cannot use onboard lan which is Marvell 88E1116 phy. I already try forcedeth, but still can't. Any hint? Thanks! |

But in my case, i believe it is the cause of many frequent system crashes... |
Quote:
<key>IOPCIPrimaryMatch</key> sorry the other kexts have <key>IOPCIMatch</key> <string>0x029210de</string> rather than primary match you need to change them all. If you have windows then you can find device ids in device manager, if not use a linux live cd open a terminal type lspci then change the device id to the above format, also on the wiki for this site there is a lot of device ids listed. |
I've been trying for the past couple weeks to install Zephyroth 10.5.2 Rev 2 for AMD. I had it installed once and it was running quite well until I stupidly installed the iPhone SDK, which trashed my install. I've never been able to get it installed again and don't understand why I can't duplicate what was successful before. I can get everything installed on my external USB HD and can boot (MBR) from that drive. I can get into single-user mode, but cannot bring up the system from that point on. Once I type "exit" to exit single user mode, this is what I'm getting?
Jettisoning kernel linker. jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page p:35[loginwindow] clearing CS_VALID CODE SIGNING: cs_invalid_page p:35[mds] clearing CS_VALID jnl: unknown-dev: flushing fs disk buffer returned 0x5 unknown SIGSEGV code 0 And that's the end. No more messages and can't do anything at this point. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can debug this and proceed? Thanks. |
What are you system specifications?

1. I have a few more questions now. I have in the same disk but in another partition Vista installed, i choose dual boot from the installation menu of Leo but it doesn't give me any option on the start up. 2. I can only boot to Leopard only if I have the installation dvd in the drive. If I remove it it gives me a message that there is no operation installed. Any ideas??? PS. it can be installed from a DVD+RW as well. |
