scottah, You can download it for free.

Windows Users
1 - Download one program called GrabIt at "http://www.shemes.com"
2 - Go to "http://astinews.de/xtest" and put your e-mail there to receive an server username and pass to connect to usenet (it is a free account but will do the job)
3 - Check your e-mail and take note of your Reader, Username and Password that you received from astinews
4 - Install GrabIt and use the infos from astinews to start usenet
5 - Inside GrabIt, go to GrabIt Usenet Search and search for "alt.binaries.mac.cd-images" and add it to your list...
6 - After that, still in GrabIt go to Articles and at the end of the list you'll see the files to download... just right click them and "Grab Selected Articles"

Mac Users

1. Download Unison (http://www.panic.com/unison/)
2. Go to "http://astinews.de/xtest" and sign up for a Free Account
3. Check your E-Mail
4. Install Unison and enter the Login information that you received to your E-Mail by Astinews
5. Search for the Newsgroup "alt.binaries.mac.cd-images" and add it
6. Search for the files by zephyroth and start downloading :)

zephyroth 02-17-2008 05:48 PM

Newsgroup are far more faster than torrents that's why I choose this method.
This way a lot of people can have the release and seed for the others on torrents.

Faster for all.

The search within GrabIt isn't necessary. Just visit this link, press "inverse type by rar", then press "create NZB" and save the file to your computer. Open it with GrabIt and you're good to go.

thanks, i'm using agent anyway, seems to be working

just provide an md5sum after so i can see if its downloaded right!

i'm off anyway...

@7th, I agree with you. This are people that are overheating the server, thus, causing the discussion forum site go down. I've waited 4 HOURS!! just to come back to this thread, because people are not reading the entire discussion.

Hey, why wasn't I told about Grabit's procedure (for nonsubscribers) in the beginning? I used newsrover after searching and playing around with other usenet clients. Ah well, at least I download all of the file in one hour excluding parts 28 & 29. LOL

Puttabong: the site is acting up again.

[cite] Rajmahal783:[/cite]Hey if you're trying to get it from newsgroups here is another way of doing it.

1.http://www.astinews.de/xtest-put in your email address for a free acount. (somebody already mention this earlier.)

2.Download NewsbinPro-The trial version-www.newsbin.com-insert the information from your email from astinews.
Your username, password, news group.(reader.astinews.de)-Check mark need password and username when installing NewsbinPro.

3. Once your in NewsbinPro, Go to this website-http://www.binsearch.info/browse.php?bg=alt.binaries.mac.cd-images
10.5.2-AMD from Zeph will be the first on the list click on collections. And you will see up to date all the uploaded files that you can start to download. Click on inverse type .rar but uncheck the incomplete ones 28 and 29. Then click on create NBZ and save to your desktop.

4.. Go back to NewsbinPro-And on the menu part next to Save click on the Load NZB Button and open the file you saved on your desktop, and it will automatically start downloading the files part by part.

Thats it!

[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]I didn't use the Inverse method rather at the time I manually added the files as they were uploaded by Zephyroth. Does it really matter? Or should I download 3.37GB again?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but if i can get the iso form the 73 .rar files, the iso should already be correct... else i wouldn't be able to extract the iso from rar... or do i have to check md5 anyway to be sure it's correct?!

WinLinMac01 02-17-2008 08:56 PM

good to hear, thanks.

WinLinMac01 02-17-2008 08:58 PM

I would rather wait for the fixed files of 28 29 to be uploaded then extract and make the .iso.

Regarding your question, You may be able to make an .iso with all 73 current files, but a corrupted version.

GTOnizuka 02-17-2008 11:33 PM

Fully Downloaded and tested. Parts 28 and 29 fully uploaded ;)

Nice work Zephyroth :)

1207FX 02-17-2008 11:33 PM

http://www.binsearch.info/browse.php?bg=alt.binaries.mac.cd-images shows that 28 and 29 are complete however it seems that Zeph is uploading is new files "SUBJECT - "Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI.p01" yEnc (1/152)" is this a new image? I am certain when Zeph checks bak in he will elaborate.

7eventh 02-17-2008 11:38 PM

Uh ... I just finished downloading "Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI.part0xx.rar" (had some errors so I m reloading part 23,55 and 73 again).
What gets me a little confused now,is that binsearch now finds parts called "Leopard-10.5.2-AMD-EFI.p0x" ...also uploaded by zephyroth ...
Did something went wrong with the first parts or are these the same files ... just with a different name (please say that it is this way... I don t wanna download this whole stuff again)

Rajmahal783 02-17-2008 11:50 PM

Hey zeph or anybody how imporant are these par files that you are adding? Are they necessary to download them?

crawle 02-17-2008 11:50 PM

10.5.2 just installed! Works great! We love you Zeph!

Rajmahal783 02-17-2008 11:57 PM

Hey crawle Congrats! What are your specs? Did you have to make any modifications? What options did you choose during installation?

THeKiNG 02-17-2008 11:58 PM

Someone please make things CLEAR!
After one hour of refresh, trying to add par's files(btw was 3 then 4 then 5...) I ended up downloading the hole parts again...
If I download all files again, do I need to use that par files, or this time they are correct?
I really don't understand why that damaged files was not upped in separate place..

Rajmahal783 02-18-2008 12:05 AM

Hey THeKing hate to break this to you but you didn't have to download everything again? All you had to do is use the orignal par file zeph put up the first one, download Quick par, and with all the files all in one folder. All the .rar's -73 of them and 1 par, run Quick Par to make sure all 73 files are good and that's it. From there you can extract and burn.

Rajmahal783 02-18-2008 12:07 AM

If everything checks out for you no damage files then don't worry about downloading the other .par files.

crawle 02-18-2008 12:10 AM

I just selected the newer ToH-Kernel, MBR-EFI bootloader, NVidia drivers and AC97-Audio. Install went fast (about 20min) and my specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+
NVidia Geforce 6600GT
VIA Chipset
400GB ATA IDE
160GB ATA IDE
...

zuz242 02-18-2008 12:19 AM

im on astinews trial, downloading with newsbin (win) and parts 28 and 29 are still incomplete.
others seem to get them complete now, but refreshing (even restarting newsbin) still shows them as
incomplete :(
the .par files are incomplete as well.
so: is it me, astinews or something complete else?

BTW it is allready on bay...how when files are still uploading???

EDIT: Figured it out, it's actually on the the next screen. It's the "customize" button i was looking for. I think everyone should go there and select all the options you want it was very easy.

altair1979 02-18-2008 04:04 AM

Ok noob question here:

I've installed Zeph's Leopard 10.5.1. I've had a lot of problems but I've managed to get everything to work just fine, OSX runs smoothly on my AMD 4200+, except for my MSI ATI x1650 512mb which doesn't work as well (mouse tears).

Would I benefit from this release? Is it worth installing? Will it solve my ATI problems???

7eventh 02-18-2008 05:27 AM

Any idea on how to get the installation up and running with an S-ATA-DVD (Samsung S203B). Up to now, all I get is this (see attached image)

viiComm 02-18-2008 05:38 AM

I installed and have one big problem: can't mount usb drives.
How can i fix this? Is there any workaround for this problem?

My system:
AMD x64 2500+, 1gbyte ram, MSI Nforce motherboard, geforce 7600GT

Any help could be great...

Rajmahal783 02-18-2008 05:49 AM

Hey anybody know what command to use to show all your partitions in -s, the diskutil..something. It shows the identity of each drive. I installed 10.5.2 on a USB hardrive and I'm trying to get it to boot, any suggestions?

SasedWasja 02-18-2008 06:08 AM

finr

Jare 02-18-2008 06:13 AM

Anyone else notice the long wait time to boot the installer from -x? Tried to boot it regularly and got a no smoking sign (without the smoke) on the apple logo.

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 06:18 AM

Finally the release has arrived. I think I was among the first to download and extract. DVD works fine, one interesting thing I noticed was that the instalallation was half way through, I moved my mouse cursor and the progress bar jumped towards near completion. Hopefully this is not an error. For some reason, after the installation I get an error message in regards to my system error.

@Puttabong, can you please do something about this discussion site. At times, it becomes "extremely" slow and remains inaccessible at time. Is there another alternative such as opening a new forum @ proboards.com? :D

Thank you very much Zephyroth.

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 06:19 AM

Do I have to customize my instalallation? What if I just click install, any risks?
I'm attempting another install, what is really odd is the fact that when install is in progress at 11 minutes remaining my cursor dissapears and the progress bar does not move. If I move the mouse, the cursor reappears and the bar jumps to back to the current state. What is happening hear? Help please, thank you.

Rajmahal783 02-18-2008 06:26 AM

WinLinMac01 if you don't customize the installation you will be running the old kernel and no EFIA

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 06:28 AM

How should I customize it then? What are the standard options?

I have an nvidia video card, chipset, ac'97 audio, do I select the whole thing?

Jare 02-18-2008 06:31 AM

I can open you guys a forum with ipb 2.x.x with my license if I can get staff. ;)

Rajmahal783 02-18-2008 06:31 AM

no no the type of video card you have the specific number and the same with the audio, select the new kernel 9.2.0 and EFI MBR Bootloader

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 06:34 AM

I'll join. There is also something called proboards.com.

how do you think I address the weird lag in my instalaltion? At 11mins, the progress bar freezes, if I move the mouse, it moves again? My HD activity shows that is is installaing.
