Regarding your second question: This happens due to the lack of a bootloader, which is easily solved by manually installing it.
One information is needed to do this, though - Did you format your drive as MBR (Master Boot Record) or GUID? You can check this by launching the Disk Utility, and selecting your drive. Once you told me, I will tell you how to fix your bootloader. :-) Thanks |
In order to open Disk Utility, do I have to get to the installer again?
Is there anywhere within Leopard? |

Thanks. |

I have checked the Disk Utility and it mentions that it is MBR, but I just formated the drive within Disk Utility and didn't change anything else. I have run the instruction for the bcdedit script and I get the option on the start up, but I get chain error when I try to boot to Leopard. Any ideas???? Thanks |

I have the same motherboard (Asus M2N-E)...
I (finally) got my audio to work using the Azalia Audio drivers off the Zephyroth Leopard AMD 10.5.2 Rev.2 DVD. I made sure to ONLY check the Azalia Audio option --during my like 4th install--under audio drivers and my audio actually works now. There is a AzaliaAudio.pkg package here http://osx86.wikidot.com/utilities-resources that I assume is the same one from the DVD, it might work for you. I still can't get my video to fully work, they only way I can do a "normal" boot (without using the -x boot flag) is to delete GeForce.kext. Quote:
Good luck, you'll need it :) |

This post may be in wrong place, as i changed from Zephyroth release to Leo4all, but i think that it may help others facing same problems. The reason that i changed release was the many many system crashes i have had, but i have to admit that probably my LAN drivers caused the problem. Now, with the Leo4all and with a LAN card with Realtek 8139a, everything seems ok; i believe though that if i reinstalled the Zephyroth's release with that LAN card the result would be the same (no crashes). The audio problem i mentioned on previous post is now solved (AppleAzalia with 2ch support seem to solve the problem) Regarding the Graphics Card, i still have problems; after the clean install of Leopard (10.5.2) the only screen resolution available was 1024x768, indicating no proper hardware support. Then, i used the "Nvidia Installer V1.9 by Punk92" and after a restart the native resolution for my TFT is now supported; the hardware info for the mac: Graphics by NVIDIA: Chipset Model: Graphics by NVIDIA Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0392 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: NVinject 0.2.1 Displays: SDM-HS95P: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected As "Quartz Extreme: Not Supported' appears and as Lanxxx advised on previous post, i altered the nvinject geforce.kext Nvdanv50hal.kext nvdanv40hal.kext and nvdaresman.kext by declaring my devices' string id (0x039210de). After a restart, a blank screen appeared and i was able to login in only with the -x option at boot.... I have reinstalled the "Nvidia Installer V1.9 by Punk92", now i can login with normal boot... However, i believe that the video acceleration is not working (Quartz Extreme:Not Supported, xvid videos playback is problematic). Thank you all very much for the support so far! |

Exactly what graphics card do you have? |

Really impressive i have not mentioned that earlier... |
Try this
http://daveharris.wordpress.com/2007/08/08/osx86-with-nvidia-7600gt/ failing that this is probably your only option http://nvinject.free.fr/512Mb.html |
Before you begin the installation, go into disk utility, and set up your partitions (in HFS+ partition scheme), choose MBR or GUID. Then, select the destination source you want to install Leopard on after quitting disk utility. Customization your installation options (according to your appropriate hardware drivers). Begin the installation, and you should be on the role. That's as concise I can get. Let me know if you need a full guide just in case. =) Whisper me if you need any further support, gladly assist you. ;D

I'm having a problem when I try to boot up. It the apple logo gets like a crossed out sign on top of it and when I start with -x it states "Still waiting for root device..." If there a solution to this.

Success install rev.2 using DFI Infinity mobo (nForce4Ultra), SATA drive 1 (mbr), GF 6600GT, AMD 64 SSE3
Problems which I've encountered during post-install: 1. I can't use chain0 method to boot it: I have disk 0 with vista and disk 1 with leo, can't dual boot it using vista loader, forced to choose which hdd to boot. Still not solved. 2. Forgot to select NVInject during install. :) As the result: 1024x768, soft mode :) Solved by installing NVInject and removing all unneeded device ids from NVDA* and GeForce* kexts. 3. SMB support not working because of broken symlink (not started by leading '/'), solved by editing symlink. 4. Broken symlinks to java, all in /usr/bin (!), solved by editing symlinks. |

Hi, I have succes installed Zephyroth Leopard AMD 10.5.2 Rev.2 on my PC.
And I have just one trouble with this revision - Broadcom drivers for Wifi don't work. OS boots normal, but after boot i have a message like "Kernel extension IO80211family installed incorrectly". I use Broadcom drivers installer from Zephyroth Leopard AMD 10.5.2 Rev.1 and it works nicely. |

is http://osx86.wikidot.com/ the wiki for Zephyroth Leopard AMD 10.5.2 Rev.2 as well??

Hello everyone.
I have obtained the latest update to zypheroth Leopard AMD Rev.2 with EFI and I am unable to install Leo on to the hard drive. The hard is a 160GB Sata-I Maxtor drive and is formatted with hfs+. I have been hitting this " Circle with a line that runs through it" also, I am running an AMD 4600+ X2 with 2GB dual channel memory. Do you have any suggestions that You All can help out with. Here are some pics: http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/7012/dsc00042eo3.jpg http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/5577/dsc00045tw8.jpg http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/504/dsc00044od0.jpg Any help is suggested. |

and there is http://osx86leo4all.wikidot.com/ for eddies leo4all if you ask me, it is nonesense to have two almost identical wikis ... |
Well as the creator of Eddie's Leo4all Wiki, I would better believe that that Wiki is "dedicated" to him and his releases. Zephyroth is a different world apart from Eddie11c. Eddie11c develops his own releases, that's why. =) Hope this explains.

i know, but both wikis share mostly the same content (info i entered in zephs was copied to eddies) but
with minor differences. i dont mind sharing info but this is not very efficient having it fragmented or duplicate. it would be better having one good wiki (not like the osx86project wiki) with all info in one place and the release specific (zeph, eddie, R1,R2 ...) issues in corresponding sub chapters. for this the creatorsof the two wikis (the other one would be puttabong?) have to cooperate closely, though. ;) anyway, i think this community is great, both forum and wiki(s)! i just wouldn´t mind it becoming even better :) |
i have a problem with my ati x1300, in the prerelease note it was written that it's driver will be included but after release it was deleted...i downloaded the dvd and installed it everything seems to be ok except two things that i hope someone can help me with them cause i searched all over the net for any solution:
1-atix1300 problem :i didn't chose any graphic driver in the installation...after finished it loads everything is ok ,but i can't change resolution and there are some artifacts.. i posted my problem here but nothing worked http://www.infinitemac.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=832 2- if the computer stays inactive for nearly 15 min,the dsl cable appears to be inactive .. but no problem appears if i am working on the computer.... |
Hi Guys!
ive tried to boot zephyroth leopard 10.5.2 AMD... my laptop will say CPU panic or no drivers found. what does it mean? i had AMD turion 2x processor and a 2GB of ram...i keep trying for 10x,but still it gives me the same problem, and i tried to burn it to other dvd, coz im thinking i had a bad copy, and i wasted 10 dvds. still same problem. heres my complete system config: CPU Arch : 1 CPU - 2 Cores - 2 Threads CPU PSN : AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-60 CPU EXT : MMX(+) 3DNow!(+) SSE SSE2 SSE3 x86-64 CPUID : F.8.2 / Extended : F.48 CPU Cache : L1 : 2 x 64 / 2 x 64 KB - L2 : 2 x 512 KB Core : Trinidad (90 nm) / Stepping : BH-F2 Freq : 2009.07 MHz (200.91 * 10) MB Brand : Quanta MB Model : 30B8 NB : NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 rev A2 SB : NVIDIA nForce 410/430 MCP rev A3 GPU Type : GeForce Go 7200 GPU Clocks : Core 450 MHz / RAM 700 MHz DirectX Version : 10.0 RAM : 2048 MB DDR2 Dual Channel RAM Speed : 334.8 MHz (CPU/6) @ 5-5-5-13 Slot 1 : 1024MB (PC2-5300) Slot 1 Manufacturer : Samsung Slot 2 : 1024MB (PC2-5300) Slot 2 Manufacturer : Samsung |
I've got a BCM4311 and even if it's detected, it doesn't detect any wireless networks. Strangely, led is kinda 'bright orange', which suggests me both red and blue leds are lit.
This isn't expected, as it's just blue when working or red when not working. Some people said it should work on Leo4allv2, but I'm really not interested on switching just to check WiFi. :P |
I get a failed install on Rev2 if I install the GUID bootloader.... I can't use MBR because I have a Test Install on a separate partiton, my disk is GUID so if I reformat in MBR I lose everything. Any ideas?
|
hi y'all, can anyone help me with the ethernet issue? I just installed 10.5.2 rev 2 but got the same issue about NO ethernet. I have two eth ports, but bot are off, any one knows why and how to fix this? Thanks in advance.
|
Visit to Wiki to learn how to reinstall your GUID bootloader after it fails to install in the prior installation.
|
I still get the blinking curser.. I remember last time I had this problem I had to keep reinstalling until I got it right... It never seems to work reinstalling the boot loader manually for me, I don't know why. I go into disk utility, my Leo disk is disk3s2, so I reboot and follow the instructions, finish, reboot and still the blinking curser.
|
i had the same problem with using guid on 10.5.2 r2.
i solved it finally by installing first without bootloader and adding it later manually: http://osx86.wikidot.com/how-to-s#toc5 http://forum.osx86scene.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2520 i needed several tries, i guess it had to do with choosing the right disk. where did you get the info about your disk from? you have to be sure about disk3s2, better doublecheck via disktool@dvd and terminal@dvd/singleuserboot. it seems to me that the nummeration depends on different factors... |
Has anyone tried any other AMD release and NOT experienced this issue? Im almost ready to give up on AMD and go INTEL. :[
|
Which issue do you mean Carpet?
<small>edit:</small> Zephyroth runs fine since 4th of January on my AMD Machine. ;-) |
hah i posted in the wrong thread :p
Im talking about error code -10810, app crashes and finder crashes after hours of uptime from that mouse movement bug thread. That issue has long been bugging me. I currently have idelhalt=0 in my boot.plist but all that does is prolong uptime before it begins to rear its head again |
Wow, yes, you are right mate. I admit that I have experienced this bug a few times in the past as well!
It happens very rarely, but I can't explain why either. A logout/re-login is required then. |
still working on that audio issue. shouldn't be long until I dissect the problem. =))

I installed this today and worked great from the get go, only problem I am having is with the Mic, is not working at all. Sound is great, (AC97 driver), but I cant get the Mic to work. Used skype to make a test call and you can only hear noise coming from my comp. So not sure if there is a way to work around this, if anyone knows I will be greatful.
AC97 driver is the only one that works for me btw, I installed the OS on a Compaq nx6125 that has a Conexant AMC Audio device. |

At first, thanks for providing great DVD.
I had a problem SATA with SB600 in my DVD writer drive. I'm using ASUS DRW-1814BLT. In Zephyroth's original DVD, for SB600 VIAATA kext would be used. It almost works fine. But when I try write CD/DVD, then I could not. After that, I tried AppleAHCI then it worked almost fine except writing DVD-RW; but later I found it should be my drive problem because I could write DVD-RW with another Liteon drive. Anyway, I think that agains SB600 we should use AppleAHCI on behalf of VIAATA. How do you think about this solution? |
