@freshcuts
Did you try all of the ALC880 codec dumps (all the alc880.txt files) in the repository referenced at netkas.org? There are probably 7 or 8 different .txt files (codec dumps) for the ALC880. They are from various motherboards (but most of them are for Intel CPU MB's I think) None of them worked for my ALC880, but who knows... The only thing that has worked with mine is Taruga's "beta4some861_880Installer"...

ok zephyroth

work great with tx1000

other working

Finally after some struggle with booting (my fault) and after applying widely known lines of code for GUID boot Leopard works without any problem. Everything works so far except printer, since it is not connected via USB. I can simply copy (or watch) my files from WIN XP HDD to Leopard HDD and this is fun :)

Now I see that Quicktime is 7.2.1 though it is written that ISO should have 7.4.1. So there should be 7.4.1 updater in this ISO, or something like that? :)

Regarding Marvin utility. Should I patch every software install for Leopard or only those from Apple, or only software updates? I'm a little bit confused here. I've installed Skype without problems without Marvin, but wouldn't like to mess up with Quicktime install if I download from apple site.

Thanks Zephyroth!

[cite] Protocol82:[/cite]Ok guys. Please, Im begging now. Can someone please shed some light on whats going on with my system??
Ill try to explain best I can.
If I boot from the 10.5.2 DVD it hangs on "waiting for root device".
If i try 10.5.1 it boots the installer, but its VERY slow, takes 10 minutes to even recognise my hard drives and when I try to erase my partition I allocated for Leopard, it just doesnt do anything. Ive yet to actually install it and its driving me MENTAL!!!

Please PLEASE someone help!!
Specs:
AMD 64 6000+ X2

1 X 250gig Sata HD

maybe sata doenst work well?
i installed on a ide drive fine...

Protocol82 02-24-2008 04:13 AM

All I have is SATA. Like I said, 10.5.1 boot into installer but takes a LONG LONG time and doesnt format.
10.5.2 just hangs at "waiting for root device". I REALLY want this to work. I don't care about networking or sound or anything like that. I just want to dive into Leopard and try it out. :(

freshcuts 02-24-2008 04:22 AM

then you should try it on a usb hard drive or on vmware because i think sata is not really 0sx86 friendly

Reinekis 02-24-2008 04:57 AM

My Leopard runs on SATA2 HDD drive, so actually this shouldn't be a problem. Try to google on "waiting for root device"

I got an external 250gig hard drive, usb. Can you give me some pointers how to set that up so the DVD recognises it?
