Well Finally...
After almost 36 hours of trying everything to update to 10.5.2 im reporting success...

But, the new Kernel 9.2 needs to be downloaded and applied with the dsmos.kext

The LeoGraphicsUpdate with GeForce 8600GT and patches at first gave me Kernel Panic but i restored the NV* & Ge* kexts with NVinject and its up and running flawless, it even managed to take away the Glitches and some Antialiased problems

Also downloaded the old nvinject 0.1.3 cause it shows in System Profiler my Video Card (8600GT) with the correct Ram

Running on: nForce 4 Ultra, s939, x64 4200, 1Gb Ram, 8600GT, USB Audio (M-Audio Transit), nForce Lan, USB Modem (Sprint PCS Broadband)

Time Machine Backups fixed (little icon in the taskbar spins!!!) :-D

Success Report

Finally, someone reports a success with the 10.5.2 update. Time me to try it myself. Thanks for detailing your solution.

Zephyroth! Do you have your HD ok? maybe this is a kind of Hard Disk Corruption?

megaargon1 02-14-2008 04:08 AM

Zephyroth (or if someone else can clearly answer this), what is the difference between the AMD and Intel Kernal? Is the performance the same? What about stability-wise?

the intel kernel is vanilla.. meaning it supports the original kext files from a real mac because its intel... the amd kernel is patched in order to work on this type of processor, vanilla is better than e patched kernel

megaargon1 02-14-2008 04:17 AM

Are there any performance differences?

Thanks for explaining.

@roisoft

My HD is ok according to diskutil. It doesn't happen for all Applications. I've just checked the preinstall and postinstall scripts of 10.5.2 update but I didn't find anything that can explain this behaviour.(even with Google).

megaargon, please don't write consecutive posts..... if you have something to add use the edit button

Ok I've just made a fresh installation ... all went fine.

10.5.2 Rev1 is the same as Rev.2 except:

- Kernel 9.2.0 + System.kext + dsmos.kext
- Modified Security Update and Remote Desktop Client (some files were deprecated)
- Includes 10.5.2 Update
- Graphic Update without NVidia kexts
- NVidia Universal Installer with the kexts from Graphic Update

...

Should I include latest Quicktime and iLife update ?
