I suggest you to use a vmware image, so you don't have to take time to install and configure. |

Error:uncompressed file is not lenth recorded error:couldnt uncompress plist from multikext achieve entry 1 mac os version: not yet set darwin kernel version 9.1.0:sat nov 17 02:56:34 sct 2007:made by toh:xnu-1228.0.2~1/build/obj/release_i386 |
I have get kernel panic too by reason of SleepEnabler. Try deleting nullcpumanagement kext from the usb. Flip360 said that you don't need nullcpumanagement.kext if you use the newest asus bios.

A sleep ugyan nem tökéletes (ébredés után nincs hang), de a billentyűzet jó. ;) |
i have deleted nullcpupowermanagement.kext but the result still the same.one thing makes me feel weird is the darwin bootloader is disapear when i used usb as a installer not like dvd burned.i boot my usb using asus boot cd..any idea what is happening to me?
|
Hi flip360,
My hackbook won't auto sleep even I set time. How to fix this? Do i need the sleepenabler.kext? |
hello guy`s,
@ Georgie99: it is a weird install at first but when one gets hold of the proper install method, everything is smoothie afterwards :) I hope you upgraded to the latest ASUS BIOS (221 i think). Try booting the USB with cpus=1 or -x, if you manage to install it, boot once more from the USB`s chameleon boot, and choose your fresh partition for booting. This will get you through the welcome screen. Also have the latest Chameleon 2 installed on the boot partition afterwards. I have reinstalled the notebook once more and have found out that we do not have any more use of SleepEnabler.kext or NullCPUPowerManagement.kext (which as it turns out is needed only for the USB install method). @ keresztesvitez and mao_red and everyone else: here try this set of extensions that i am using now: http://www.mediafire.com/?mmnyizlznyn I have proper restart/shutdown, audio, graphic, keyboard and trackpad (with multitouch gestures) and i am also using http://www.jinx.de/SmartSleep.html for working sleep mode, just dont forget to use the kext utility! :) Cheers |
i got something strange today..my kernel panics said *still waiting root devices*what is that?what should i do?
|
I installed original retail SL succesfully. I can only boot with boot CD though. I installed chameleon v2 but gives a kernel panic.
So appart from the bootloader and wifi i've got a stable hackbook!!(thnx to the people who made this possible):D I bought a USB wifi reciever (sitecom wl-353), downloaded the latest OSX driver but then got a kernel panic. So i tried to uninstall the driver, but it seems to be still there. When i plug the USB in i get a kernel panic again. Can someone please help me? I don't have a clue what to do next... |
i managed to install sL yesterday and also got karnel panic after restart.but i think it was caused by appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext.but how to fix this?Should i remove this kext?

i have updated my snow leo to 10.6.2,but airport did not appear at system profiler..did i miss install some kexts?help please.
|
hello...everbody...i have managed to install 10.5.8 and 10.6 Snow Leopard from Snow Installer 3.5 DVD, but now i want to create a boot-132 cd....booting is fine with chameleon rc4 but when need to start installer it is writing...Unable to find driver for this platform...ACPI stuff...so i go futher to look and see line that write...
Patched DMI Table. No DSDT replacement found. Leaving ACPI data as is. No SMBIOS replacement found. So i think i need to pach my dsdt.aml and put it on boot-132 cd...a have patched it as you instructed fork50io ( i have asus k70io),,,and patch dsdt.aml and put into extra extensionsfolder and into preboot.dmg file...kext are loaded but dsdt.aml are not. So where a need to put this DSDT.aml into boot-132 cd to make it loadable when i bot cd to make retail instalation? Many thanks...:) And all is working ..sound...vga...sleep...speedsteep..only wirelless card is not woring but i will swap it with another one... |
Hey guys! 10.6.3 is out! Anyone can confirm if it's a smooth update?
|
downloading...:)
i have installed the 10.6.3 update succesfully, without any problems but after reboot i have no audio, everything else seems normal, so i would ask buhgalter and clubber_77 to work their magic again :) Update: i have replaced the original files with the 10.6.2 files from this thread and it works just not with sleep, after coming back from sleep i lose sound. oh, and another thing, i noticed that ASUS have a new BIOS out: Version 222 Description BIOS 222 Firmware Change anyone willing to try? maybe we have even more native OSX support in there :) cheers |
I can confirm that bios 222 WILL give you a big smile..I have tried bios version 222,1 month ago, less kernel panic and seemed more supportive to osx..
|
I have also just installed 10.6.3, and the 32-bit mode is broken in the graphics part. It works just fine if I disable graphics (not providing any driver whatsoever), but as soon as I put NVEnabler in, then it does not work anylonger.
The thing is: it shows-up, but with garbled and distorted graphics, and it is not usable at all. I'd love to hear some inputs on how are these stuffs fixed. |
i have flashed the BIOS also and all is well :)

you can flash before or afterwards, it doesnt matter, put the new BIOS file on USB Stick, enter the BIOS with F2 i think and use the EZFlash utility :)
|
To anyone else who is having audio issues after 10.6.3 and bios flash, reinstall 10.6.2 AppleHDA from here: http://www.tonymacx86.com/Public/10....AInstaller.zip
|
@flip360
Thanks! that was easy.. ;) @niadma Thanks for the link. after updating, flashed the bios and installed the appleHDA, it did the job well. I also noticed that my display becomes sharper after the update, I don't know if that's just me though..:D cheers! |
Has anyone got the WLAN solved? Mine is this...

btw, there a person selling AirPort extreme wifi card, can it be installed on this laptop? :D
|
nope, the wifi card is still unsupported, if the airport is a miniPCIe card it will fit ;)
|
Yeah , it's miniPCIe, it could work ONLY ON OSX right ?
|
i think so but maybe i am wrong, if someone knows better please report
|
I can only boot with the boot cd in, someone knows a solution? I've tried to install chameleon on the OSX partition but doesnt do anything when booting, just a blinking cursor...
|
@flip360 I will buy it as soon as i can and report it, if it works, it's good cause we can use original Apple wifi card in PCs.
@Abraxas maybe you have to copy some files from the boot cd to system... If I am wrong ... Search :P |
hello...i have fixed problem with Unable to find driver for this plaform...ACPI.....
The solution is to download Golden Master Snow Leopard and burn it al low speed...so i just buy new Dual Layer DVD burn new dmg Snow Leopard to this disc with low speed and voila...no KP...:) I have Asus K70IO which has Nforce MCP79 witch is native supported by apple kext...i have copy a50io.kext and hdaenabler.kext...and sound is working crystal..al is recognized(alo i have added pinconfig into dsdt and system profiler recognizes) but problem is when i dont play any sound i hera from speaker "click" every 5 seconds...how to fix this?? i im running snow leopard vanilla install, speedstep so how to fix this every 5 seconds "click" sound... many thanks..:) |
hy...everbody....i have installed on my k70io 10.6.3 combo update and hexedited AppleHDA.kext 1.8.4...just opet in AppleHDA.kext AppleHDA binary....use hedexitor and change 8508EC10 to 6206EC10 ( i 4 times) and put HDAEnabler.kext ( i use dsdt patch for HDAController).... put this modified AppleHDA.kext into S/L/E ..then use kext utility reboot and voila....sound is working....:)
and "click" sound every 5seconds is now gone with 10.6.3 update so this AppleHDA.kext has fixed my click sounds.... just a question: i have seen on other forum a guythat wrote a tutorial about dsdt patching and insert your pinconfig into dsdt so you dont need legacy k50io.kext...a have try to insert pinconfig...from my linux codec dump...in system profiler it shows that config but without patched applehda...sound is not working....have one solution to use dsdt patch for pinconfig in dsdt? so when dsdt is loaded..it loads a hdacontroller patch and automaticly insert and patch applehda on boot...this will be great becuse on futher updates we will not lost sound again and we will not patch manually applehda. |
i have the click sound in 10.6.3, could you please share your modified 10.6.3. applehda, or we wait for Clubber_77 to fix AsusK50IN.kext :P
cheers |
Could someone tell me how to replace the internal wifi?
|
just unscrew the four screws on the back of the notebook where the kensington locks are, then pull on the bottom side rubbers (where the notebook stands) and the top comes out sliding like on a battery compartment. you will have the wifi card in plain site :)
cheers |
Here is it:
http://rapidshare.com/files/37465316....kext.zip.html just install it with kext helper...and install HDAEnabler.kext or DSDT HDA patch and use kext utility and sound is working.... i im currently testing and working to use AppleHDAController.kext to use vanilla kext of applehda.kext without hdaenabler.kext...i have mcp79 chipset on mobo and i see that it hasnative support for this northbridge chipset... |
yes we have the same chipset but i don't have DSDT of any kind, and it would be excellent if we could use native audio, ALMOST vanilla :D
|
so...flip360 have you tried my bin patched kext with hdaenabler and have you sound? and clicking noise is gone??
by me is working perfectly...i have no luck of modifying applehda device to use without hdaenabler...so i have write hdac and hdef device in my dsdt and now it injects al correctly..and great news is that i dont need pinconfig and other stuff..it inject into ioregistry automaticaly value at boot...:) |
good for you, as i mentioned i dont have DSDT file at all so Clubber_77`s solution still works for me ;)
cheers |
My laptop came today , gonna install with help of Rebel EFI :)
