Huh, reinstalled iAtkos L2, now I can't boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes, otherwise the system won't have video signal.

I have a 9800GT, I reinstalled twice and the same bug happens, and I tried with Natit, without success.
Also, the system doesn't always boot.

francesco 04-04-2012 09:57 PM

all work? if finder doesn't work you can use leap or other alternatives

PookyMacMan 04-04-2012 10:14 PM

Unrealized, there apparently needs some more work done on the kernel to prevent launchd from crashing.

Davis, boot with GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000.

I'm already using those settings (GraphicsEnabler=Yes npci=0x2000 and -legacy), and keeps happening :/

Also using the Natit/VBIOS/Nvidia rom gives me the same result.

Looks like I will need to wait for a boot cd/distro/kernel improvements in order to make it work correctly.

I will try again with iAtkos L2, with the distro kexts (Not my extra/extensions kexts, as I did with the 8Gb partition), since 10.7.3 retail doesn't let you to install from Snow Leopard.

Are you using the 10.7.3 kernel for L2 which is 10.7.2?

Yep, because is not possible to install 10.7.3 retail/updater over Snow Leopard to the lion partition, but with iAtkos is possible.

Also, I've installed the 10.7.3 update and the nvidia drivers, booting without the graphicsenabler, and is still happening.

I will try to remove some nvidia kexts that are not belonging to my vga model

PD: Looks like Snow Leopard is making some kernel/kext caches in the Lion partition.

I never realized how vital Finder was until I now ...

Apparently you can't even empty the trash without Finder ... (rm -rf does the job but still ...)

Use PathFinder :D
And you can empty the trash with it, the item is in the PathFinder menu

Can anyone upload the OSInstall.mpkg?

Godofwar 04-05-2012 07:22 AM

Stick with Snow Leopard, I didn't know that the finder doesn't work on Amd.

paced98 04-05-2012 07:59 AM

Has anyone tried this on a Phenon processor?

You need to run the installer on Snow Leopard. That's pretty much it. Then you just drop the kernel to the installed System.

~snipped

There isn't a way we can know for sure unless you try it.

paced98 04-05-2012 06:25 PM

just tried and get a instant reboot, so I don't know if I got a kernel panic.

Try to top one if you still get force reboot, I get force reboot on the bottom one, and the closest I've been is with the top one (zip file).

Also on this page it mentions use UserKernelCache=No isn't it UseKernelCache=No
It says AM3 for the bottom which matches mine, but I've gotten far closer to booting it with the AM2 kernel. I just get the dreaded FakeSMC, but it did work once somehow. These are my boot flags.

nvm, the AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext andAppleIntelCPUPowerManagementClient.kext didn't do anything:(

Yes I have seen that one too, gonna try that.:):):):)

Unrealized 04-05-2012 07:19 PM

Instant reboot? Be sure to use a up to date boot loader.

I got this running finally, by borrowing my friend's mac to install 10.7.3.

paced98 04-05-2012 07:27 PM

I do have the latest chameleon 2.1svn r1916 and does not change anything.

paced98 04-05-2012 07:32 PM

YAY! I finally fixed the instant reboot! but get stuck at the waiting for DSMOS

$The-King$ 04-05-2012 07:37 PM

i am waiting my new usb3 HDD in the middle of next week
so the faster one to arrive will use it kernel support install or usb HDD

Did that kernel fix it? try and use my boot flags, I put them in previous post.

I got past waiting for DMOS once, basically it loaded the graphics driver but didn't budge further. :(

Do you use -legacy? It does that for me when I don't use -legacy.

Also any news? I wonder if anyone is still developing :)

Yes all the time, -legacy UserKernelCache= No -v
when im not using this line im stuck at major minor

paced98 04-05-2012 08:28 PM

I have -legacy, but still get the waiting for DSMOS

make sure there's no space in UserKernelCache=No and it's Use not User.

UseKernelCache=No

Oh i was misinformed then thank you for correction, will try that

delgadilloalex 04-05-2012 08:40 PM

if your stuck at "dsmos has arrived" pretty much means it booted fine but your graphics aren't loading

I'm using nvenabler64.kext in sys/lib/ext/ and works perfect on AMD 9650 x4 phenom

GraphicsEnabler=Yes was not working and would hang dsmos so i removed it

i have a geforce9500gt

Unrealized 04-05-2012 08:50 PM

FYI I don't use the UseKernelCache on my kernel flags and it still boots fine ;)

You used pure Lion 10 7 3 and installed it on drive then replaced kernel? (then installed charmeleon?)

paced98 04-05-2012 09:23 PM

Ugh, this is annoying, I get no kernel panic and I get stuck on "Waiting for DSMOS", is there any fixes?

That's correct, but you need an Intel machine in order to install it. Then you just put in the kernel and it works. At least for me. :)

The only bug I seem to experience is that sometimes app stop opening, but I guess there is a simple fix for that too :)

paced98 04-05-2012 09:37 PM

Do you guys think that if I install 10.7.3 over iatkos's 10.7.2 would work?
