[cite] eMatoS:[/cite]What about the Bios update?
It seems the last one is 1303, although some people got back to 1302 and older due to some issues.

Check the ASUS forum:

There seems to be manys problems with the onboard sound device, maybe there's a workaround for you.

I don't know where I got it from but my bios is rev 1604, and the official sites have the 1603 as last beta, maybe there's a newer version for the premium hidden in the net.
That's very interesting... My BIOS version is not the latest (V. 1009) and my initial thought was that, so I updated the BIOS (1302 1st then 1303) but no cigar, as I said that was the only solution I found (for now); but the fact of you having a BIOS revision 1604 intrigues me... who knows if there's anything that a "hacked" bios could do about these issues.
Thank you for these information, may be very helpful in shedding some light on this obscure problem.

Hey, what about Quicktime 7.4????? I have 7.2 installed.

eaglepride605 03-01-2008 07:30 AM

whats the best program to read and maybe even write HFS+ from a 64-bit windows,
macdrive 7 doesnt support 64-bit
transmac crashes every time i open it

thanks

I've had the same problem with Transmac until I've installed it to C:\Program Files\Transmac (instead of offered C:\Program Files x86). Also if you're using the cracked Transmac v7.5 from TPB know that supplied cracked .exe is corrupted. I've attached a working cracked exe.

In my A8N-SLI I always had midi and game port active, and it always worked out of the box. Anyway, you should try, perhaps your motherboard gives different IRQ directions to ports.

[cite] eMatoS:[/cite]That's exactly the same error as mine! And I'm also booting the installation from a HD partition.
I'll try to burn a DVD and see what happens.

this is the screenshot, sorry for the painfull quality it's taken with my cellphone.

EDIT: you're right!!!! it passed that error, and then gave me another one, SAM Multimedia Error. I've checked and it's related to a bad DVD, so I'll try again, damned toast!
Hi eMatos,

I have exactly the same error as yours and still stucks at there now.
Would you pls tell me how to slove it? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!
My error was to install from my HD, so I burned a DVD and it worked fine. Hope that's your problem too.

Good luck!!!

Thanks for your help, eMatoS!!

For my case, I burned at 4X and boot from DVD already, still get the same problem.
Any other hints on this ?

Here they talk about some RAM incompatibility (?) maybe that's all, and this guy changed the kernel, hope someone can give you more ideas.

Good Luck!

OK soo far, a nice release.

Things that work: Allmost everything I need.

Things that dont work:

* keyboard layout recognizes all the keys except it changes key Y and Z (I have to type Y to actually type Z)
* SOUND - big problem because it doesnt work. I have A8V-MX motherboard with onboard ALC653 codec - realtek/via I guess.
* I see no SATA drives (not even in system preferences)
* Cant use 2nd monitor (LCD) on my Nvidia 6800 GT 256 MB AGP

Programs that dont work:
* MAINTENANCE needs 10.4.x to work apparently
* TOAST Titanium (nothing happens when I press it)
* Bookit
* Front Row
* HardwareGrowler
* Onyx
* CandyBar
* Sherlock
* Printer Setup Utility

Im sure there are more as I havent tried installing any apps on my computer.

The hardware issues are the most pestering as I hate using a computer where I cant watch movies and/or play music. :/

Right now Im just content/happy this distro is working at all.
And I will be even more happy if some of you have sucessfully solved these problems and are willing to share it with the rest of us.

First, thanks a lot Zephyroth for putting together this release

Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200
RAM: 2 GB PC3200 RAM
Video Card: 512MB ATI 3870

I tried to install with GUID, but I would get b0 error. Then I installed MBR with: 9.2.0 Kernel, Forcedeth, ATI 38XX driver (17 MB one), AC97 and Azailia audio. I can only boot with -x. Anything else and it starts up for about 10 seconds, then just shows me a screen of random black, red, and green lines in a weird pattern. My 3870 does not work, and I am in software mode with no QE/CI. I am trying to get Natit from Netkas.org working. I have no sound, and the internet is very sluggish (like not getting past 10 kb/s, I don't know why). About this Mac and System Profiler are working fine.

If anyone could help me with these issues, that'd be great, if not I'll keep trying
Thanks again Zephyroth.

for your GUID problem, have you actually read the forums? There is a new update (patch) floating around that will address this problem. If you are not interested, consider MBR instead.

Download the latest quicktime manually from quicktime.com and install. There shouldn't be any problems if you follow this way. If you use the software update utiltiy YOU WILL get the following message, QUicktime quitted unexpectadly, etc. =)
