hum i couldn't find out which one i was using but i gave 5.0.9 a shoot and the audio works just fine with that as well:
here is the bdmesg: http://pastebin.com/fXQ73x4E hum with this this the sound actually works so well that I don't need cpus-3 anymore, all 4 cores work, I'm not sure about the load in logic but this seems very promising, I guess the culprit to my issues with the sound are incorrect fsb values? I don't know if this will help other Phenom II users but 5.0.9 seems like the best one for my setup at this moment:) |
Got my new Lacie Firewire 400 pci today, and it seems to behave a bit better..
But 5.1.2 has the same issues a i had with my built in fw, i guess its because it reports a fsbfreq of 215, forcing it down to 100 has no effect on this, it reports 215 in the bdmesg. However, unlike my builtin fw, this works much better with pervious bootloaders as well so there is a difference. For now I'll stick with 5.0.9 since its seems to be the latest release that behaves like it should on my "strange" phenom II. |
