If it boots, then it is. If it reboots immediately then it isn't (or you are having a old boot loader) ;)

Offtopic:
Just tested a few games, all of them work fine. Modern Combat Domination and CS Source both run over 60fps easily. And no crashes.. so far :p the kernel is a bit buggy though as some apps stop opening after a while... and Launchpad is a bit laggy, but I guess it's fixable.

Edit: Something to fix. Getting many of those. Like 100 every minute. :)

Thanks, but I just think that the and is just making the "Waiting for DSMOS" get stuck, so I'm really despirate for this to work.

I think if I let this run overnight I run out of disk space :p So yeah, a fix would be awesome. I get like 2 crash reports per second at the moment.

Otherwise it's really nice to run Lion though, I use Path Finder as my file browser and I can even have my Desktop icons with it. :)

Edit: It seems like my usb ports are left enabled after I shut down my computer. Awesome, I wonder why.

paced98 04-05-2012 10:29 PM

Now I get stuck at the Before you Begin... prompt and the mouse won't work, so gonna fix the mouse and keyboard and see.

Can you give me your Extras folder from charmeleon?

i used narish 10.7.3 (intel only version not the new one) or whatever cause I'm lazy.
installed from my intel laptop put copied the kernel then put hdd back in AMd desk top and wam i(i booted once an the intel and prep the system for AMD)

paced98 04-05-2012 11:36 PM

Man my system freezes right when I see the Before you Begin part (where you set up the "unknown" keyboard).

Fixed it, now everything works, except Finder and some other apps.

What did you select in iATKOS L2 as customize?

I did clean install of iATKOS without customize and then used chimera bootloader to load it in, but get FAKESMC. share you boot flags too? Charmeleon refuses to boot when I put it on USB, don't know why.

paced98 04-06-2012 02:04 AM

But now I just bought path finder and done something and made it get stuck on DSMOS has arrived

my boot flags are
Code:

-v -legacy npci=0x2000 graphicsenabler=Yes
I had the USB problem to so I used multi beast to fix that, or maybe I deleted AppleHPET.kext from System/Library/Extensions/

You used multibeast to install Chimera or Charmeleon? which version link? Did you select anything during the customize of L2.

paced98 04-06-2012 02:33 AM

Code:

Yes in L2 I chose
-Chameleon 2.1
-Graphics Enabler
-Built-in Ethernet
-32-bit
-FakeSMC (get the v4)
-Disabler
-Ev0reBoot
-IOPCIFamily
-AHCI SATA
-USB
-PS/2
from my other mac lion, I installed 10.7.3 and installed EliottForceLegacyRTC, IOUSBFamily Rollback, and PS/2... using multi beast
edited my kernel flags (above post)
and after that I deleted AppleIntelCPUManager.kext (also the client) and AppleTyMCEDriver.kext.
booted -s (booted like this since I got stuck and mouse and keyboard won't function)
mount -uw /
touch /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
reboot
(came to the login, but I didn't login since I don't know user and pass)
booted into -s (again)
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
reboot

and this is how I got it to work, also I had another mac to help me install some other things

Any news? :( New kernel would be nice; xpchelper still crashes and is trashing my hdds with this speed.

Actually it seems to be ReportCrash which nukes the CPU usage up, but all crash reports are related to xpchelper
Code:

282  xpchelper    0.0%  00:00.02 3    2    28+  45+  548K+  284K+  2124K+ 31M+  607M+  282  1    stuck    501  806+
232  ReportCrash  111.3% 01:48.03 7/1  3    411+ 473+  52M+  4196K+ 58M+  165M+  793M+  232  1    running

Attached a lot of crash dumps.

Edit2: Removed the executable flag from ReportCrash, let's see what happens :)

Edit3: Yup, it works, but still apps stop opening after a while and It's annoying ;)

Disable ReportCrash:
Code:

chmod a-x /System/Library/CoreServices/ReportCrash
Enable Reportcrash
Code:

chmod a+x /System/Library/CoreServices/ReportCrash

Niresh12495 made a 10.7.3 install iso with the amd kernel, here it is:

I'm downloading right now :D

You don't replace it. You just download and run it. Better alternative would to use the DP2 Finder. But so far noone has uploaded it..

Did you try it personally? I doubt it works. ;) I wouldn't trust a random noname releaser (which cannot even use punctuation when writing). And I bet he didn't fix the kernel himself it it did, but I don't think there is such parameter in the kernel as "Kernel Cache". Only UseKernelCache, which doesn't work with the kernel (as it doesn't create an extensions.mkext).

Edit: Yup, no such feature exists.

It's because VirtualBox emulates a Intel chipset (ICH).

Turions have always been problematic.Their architecture is a bit different from others.

Have you tried cpus=1? If that doesn't work then the kernel doesn't have support for your CPU Family/Model.

I think that model is not supported at the moment. :-/

Which bootloader do you use? The latest version?

ACPI Error

Hey Everyone!

I've been trying also but I always get a kernel panic during boot:

"Unable to find driver for this platform: \"ACPI\".\n"@\Users/nawcom/Builds/xnu-1504.9.26/iokit/Kernel/IOPlatformExpert.cpp:1393"

Any ideas?

I haven't touched it and my system runs fine, maybe there is something wrong in the disc and it's software instead? ;)

Personally I have seen 2 ways for making a successful install:

- Using the retail discs on a real Mac/Intel hackintosh and swapping the hdd after install
- Using iAtkos L2 (Install by running OSInstall.mpkg on Snow Leo)

I can confirm both of those work. Not personally tried iAtkos, but my mate did. I don't really trust Niresh's dvd since I don't think he has a special kernel. On some people it does indeed boot but gets stuck on root device.

I can confirm that DP2 Finder works, but it won't on startup for some reason it causes a hang before the desktop. Moving it before boot and placing it in /System/Library/CoreServices after boot works.

Got the Finder app! Have not tested yet, but I have found my DP2 lion and does have the setting to run in 32bit mode:):) Please test and check if it does work by replacing finder in System/Library/CoreServices

Niresh

OK guys i have been into nireshes install and i can confirm that "Kernel Cache"=\amd is very smart cause it autodetects your model and takes the right Kernel. But of course booting hangs after loading boot device :/ and osinstall.mpkg is not iCpu free so i couldnt install it that way and Xcode doesnt work so i dont have flat package editor to change it :/. And when i tried to boot from the DVD my system hangs on logon screen.

And can someone confirm that DVD images cannot be scanned for restore???

It looks like xpchelper quits and refuses to start causing some apps to just hang when starting ...

Looks like it works on my end BUT I have not restarted yet to confirm scififan68's finding of it causing a hang at login ...

I just restarted and there was no hang at login ... The annoying xpchelper crashes are still occurring though !
