And also guys just wandering...can you somehow patch appstore cause it always show that u need 64bit intel CPU...

scififan68 04-07-2012 07:10 AM

Ah yeah, upgraded to kernel v3 and finder from dp2 works as it should on boot. But my system feels slower for some reason now.

Check my reply few pages earlier..xpchelper crashes and then it starts being sluggish because reportcrash eats all your cpu.

It works fine here ;)

I'm also wondering if anyone is working on the kernel at the moment? It's really silent :(

scififan68 04-07-2012 08:09 AM

Unrealized, well I already followed your instructions to make it unexecutable, still acts like its sluggish a bit.

Seby 04-07-2012 08:10 AM

@Unrealized I'll try iAtkos and let you know

It does indeed, there is something else wrong in the kernel itself.. I personally reverted to a older kernel.

Also I'm wondering if there is any real difference between the kernels since they are exactly the same in size..

Also, proof for some people who say App Store doesn't work, it works fine here:

So does the Finder.app work? And yes I have not seen an update on the kernel.

Yes, it works perfectly fine here. Also I have not experienced the "Apps do not open" -bug with the mach_kernel_amd.zip kernel :)

Edit: It started it again but I don't know yet if apps have stopped opening. Edit2: Yep it did :(

paced98 04-07-2012 08:27 AM

Glad everything is almost perfect. Just wished there was a legacy kernel from nawcom.

paced98 04-07-2012 08:40 AM

My computer is not really stable with this kernel.

Mine is stable as long as I don't open new apps.. :)

the one from mach_kernel_amd.zip but honestly I don't think there is any difference between them as they are all exactly the same in size.. :<

trying mach_kernel_bronzovka.zip now..du says the size of all of them is 14752 though..Also trying smbios tweaks..

Luckily it's not my only OS as I run Gentoo and Ubuntu as well, if it was I would be in pain :D

ASUS F3K with Athlon X2 (TK57). Trying boot from Niresh-12495-Lion-10.7.3-V2 dvd. Starting to boot with "Kernel Cache"=\amd arch=i386
and reboot after ~5-10 line appear at screen. DSDT=0 and DropSSDT=Yes recommended in guide do not help.
Any suggestion, please. How to get log from screen too.

AMD System Hangs "Waiting for Windows Server"

Hi
I have an amd box here that has been running 10.5 and 10.6 for a few years now, nice and stable....
With Lion, I grabbed Bronzovka's kernel, copied an Intel box installation of 10.7.3 over to a partition on the AMD box and started tinkering...
Set boot flags per various posts....

Added Kext's ...
So far no joy, just hangs .... Waiting for Windows Server
Now the Intel box had intelchipset while the AMD box has the Nvidia chipset

So I'm wondering if I need to add more Kexts???
I've got FAKESMC, IOUSBMassStorage, Evoreboot, NullCPUPower, IOUSBFamily, JMicron36, IONetworking Family, and Elliott...

Please let me know about other Kexts.

AMD is Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Brand ID 4 Socket AM2,

Cheers

Kernel v3, Finder dp2, CrashReporter stopped but it "freeze" after 30 seconds (no more internet connection, Installer.app not working)

xmaniak100 04-07-2012 03:17 PM

Hey guys i ran into more problems recently and was hoping that u can help me...

1. =Sometimes when i boot it is stuck on spinning apple logo and when i am in verbose it hangs after DSMOS arrives so i think it just could get into GUI... (if i wait a little i see 251 errors...is that xpchelper???)

2. =When I enter fullscreen on some apps(like preview or angry birds space) and I click quit fullscreen my PC either gets KP or goes into login with message that your computer was shut down to prevent damage

Anybody could fix it???...

And my AMD is model 5... I am using the only one kernel i have found...no idea what version it is... if you could give me link for newest kernel for AMD model 5 i would be very happy...

Again, maybe the problem is in the Niresh's dvd itself? Try using something else, like upgrading from Snow Leo with iAtkos (which I don't personally recommend as it's illegal, but it works).

or use a computer with Intel CPU and swap out the hdd after install. ;)

I think it's closely related to xpchelper.

xmaniak100 04-07-2012 06:06 PM

Can I just ask...what is xpchelper in fact doin??? because if it crashes all the time and everything "works" it isnt doin much... is it some kind of application panics handler??? thats why they start after 20 minutes and they just dont respond???

xmaniak100 04-07-2012 06:20 PM

Another problems

Quote:

UM i think its not cause first xpc crash happens like 30 secs after that(i can see it when im in verbose) but anyway i fixed it by downloading newer kernel...

AND i ran into one more problem.... installer doesnt work :/ even just after boot

davisin666 04-07-2012 06:25 PM

Reverted to Chameleon 2.1 rev 1819 and my 9800GT worked, no more black screen.
:D

EDIT: Also worked with 1902

What if we get a DP2 xpchelper and we replace it???

dwash 04-07-2012 06:31 PM

Great idea :D

why quotes arent working for me? -_-

not that new dwash... im already using it... what trouble exactly do you have???and are you using one for AM2 CPU socket or AM3

And whats full CPU name??? so i can find out which socket it needs in case

Just to show you here is myself booting OS up with it:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq_8f...frwInb6v1qU%3D

davisin666 I was thinking about it but I dont think itll work... because I cant even find it and also its full time running so replacing it isnt the best idea :/ but maybe im wrong

Will be able to think more deeply after ill find out what exactlyit does... becuz now I think it handles errors in apps thats why they cannot start :/

And I think its not a file...I think its like a lot of files according to this:

Nice to hear! too bad it isn't that simple to replace as it's a core service.

dwash kernel

use the one for AM2 socket think its the first one... it cannot boot installation media since inst. media is 10.7.0... u need to use OSInstall.mpkg method :) and it instant reboots cause you need to use -legacy and if you do then I need to know family and model of CPU

and unrealized sorry :)

Well, This has been discussed so many times in this threads. You cannot install it from the installation media (yet).

But you can install from 1) a real mac, swap the hdd after install 2) Install Snow Leo and install iAtkos L2 to another partition by running OSInstall.mpkg.

I would check if the CPU is supported first, though. Also, old Chameleon doesn't work for Lion, it causes an instant reboot. ;)

@Puttabong: Thanks :)
Pb: Thank you ofc!

paced98 04-07-2012 09:15 PM

If you have Snow Leopard and don't have windows and need to use CPU-Z to check cpu, use CPU-X as an alternative (download here)

This is not really for AMD, so it shows some of the items

xmaniak100 04-08-2012 05:48 AM

64bit

Is -legacy really 32bit??? Becuz as you could see in video i posted before it detects all 16Gb of RAM... How can it?

AFAIK, most modern O/S use PAE (Physical Address Extension) which allows 32-bits x86 processors to access a physical address space (including random access memory and memory mapped devices) larger than 4GB

This is what I get, just gets stuck loading. This is restored L2 on hard drive with chameleon on USB stick. Booting with -v -legacy npci=0x2000 GraphicsEnabler=yes

I just don't know what's wrong. It's not the fakesmc, and it's a AMD B50 Phenom. Family F, Model 4.

akimoa 04-08-2012 07:55 AM

put all 3rd party kexts in S/L/E

There isn't any third party kexts outside system /library/extensions
The thing is one time it boot really close but it was just luck, I have no idea what's wrong. Using latest chameleon and the amd kernel from osx 86.

Any news on the kernel? :( Seems like they have stopped all development on applelife.ru

Apple threatened to sue them because they only care about being rich. :'(

Will Partitioning work with this mac? I'm use BCDEASY on windows 7. So if I partition my snow leopard side with Lion amd will it work out good?

Also, what pkg file or kext file do I download to get the finder to work with Lion amd? I heard there's some way to get the finder to work.

Amd Lion not compatible with Amd Phenom IIx4 965 BE 3.4ghz? Cannot get it to work with the distro released on the web.

What was your boot command? Did you use a boot cd? Are you using retail or distro? Poor people use distros(I'm poor). Also, the only hackintosh's I've gotten to work are distros. Retail never seems to work for me.

You could always get the real thing from the same sources... ;)

PookyMacMan 04-09-2012 08:14 PM

Apple didn't threaten to sue - nawcom is still active on IRC. I gave the source to meklort, am going to give it to nawcom.

I'm trying to work on the kernel but Xcode is being a pain in the arse...won't compile anything, problem with xcodebuild...

its the only thing thats keeping me from a nice lion experience

It's like that for me too, I attempted to apply the diff manually to the 10.7.0 kernel and compiling on SNOW LEOPARD caused xcodebuild issues, I am certain it needs to be done on lion... :/

PookyMacMan 04-09-2012 10:38 PM

Yes. I applied the diff but I can't even compile on Lion...I'm gonna reinstall the dev tools and see what I can do.
