What's wrong with my system? I installed 10.7.3 on fx-6100 but i cannot do the following :
- update to 10.7.4 would cause the system on continuous reboot - using RAWX legacy kernel would make the system so sluggish - applying amd_insn_patcher cause kernel panic before updating dyld shared cache and everytime after system loads. Is there any kext in conflict with the update? http://sphotos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...25180506_n.jpg http://sphotos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphoto...22592141_n.jpg |

If anyone would be nice enough for me to take a look at this list of kext on my system and figure out which one is creating the conflict i would really be gratefull. I already spend more than 2 months with this hackintosh but still can't make it work perfectly and almost feel like giving my fx-6100 up. :'( http://imageshack.us/a/img155/6948/originalkext.jpg Also, i tried to install the distro you sent to me by iNDO but I can't make it boot. I'm stuck with "Not an intel platform. Restart fix not applied!!!" :( |
Jhusly, i notice you have VoodooHDA, which is mentioned by Gilles.
But i would back up this Niresh installation and resort to something radically different: retail installation using either using MyHack or unibeast/multibeast. Of course, you would have to change the kernel in either one to RAW's, so it manages to boot. Since you own a Bulldozer, you should be able to install Lion with ease. Niresh's is a distro from which a lot of issues are reported. Distros, in general, are very unreliable material. Maybe you solve all issues with a good retail installation. |
Already tried removing several kext from there one by one which I think are irrelevant including voodooHDA as suggested by gils long before but I still end up the same.
I wanted to try to do a clean install using the retail version of LION but i cant find anything from the web not hosted in torrent sites. Torrents are terribly slow in my place. If theres only a non-torrent link I can find then I would just download it from the office where i enjoy 100mbps connection but also block torrent downloads. |

:) hello , Why do you spend with crappy distro, look at my signature, you have a tutorial for a retail installation method, if you follow the diferent steps, your hachintosh AMD fonctionnerra perfectly. You do not need to multimachin tonymachintruc or any other MyHack and install. you need either a virtual machine on win7 (VTBX) or any distro as iATKOS S3 V2 to prepare your USB key. google The harddrives that show up on the right side, are they only available on amd 10.7.4 and possibly 10.7.3? I don't get visible harddrives on my desktop with 10.7.2 or is their a kext or pkg file to fix that?

I've tried to install SL using iAtkos S3 V2. It installs but of course I get an instant reboot. I tried to install using OSX INDO 10.7.4. Towards the end of the installation I receive a Failed Install error. I AM able however to boot it up using these flags busratio=18 cpu=1 UsekernelCache=No npci=0x3000 PCIRootUID=1 GraphicsEnabler=Yes -f -v -x I can get into safe mode..but thats about all i can do..I can't install any kernels..kexts..etc. I will say I'm closer than I was a few months ago with this system.

for your CG is GraphicsEnabler=No, it seems to me? and let one CG for the install. (GTX 570, for example) |

Basically what you are saying is just install SL with my GTX 570? I can take the other card out... If so I shall give that a try! |

I updated to 10.7.5 and now the screen stops updating after [ PCI Configuration begin ]. I found that it continues and if I boot to single user mode I can type 'halt' and the system halts. Any thoughts on where to start looking. Using a AMD FX-8120 on a ASUS M5A97 EVO with a Galaxy GTX 465.
|
Ok..I've tried yet again to install OS X 10.7.4 INDO.
Success!! However..I am stuck at the same roadblock. I can boot into the system using busratio=18 cpu=1 npci=0x3000 PCIRootUID=1 -v any other combination of flags I can boot with too.. like UsekernelCache=No anyway...when I'm actually in the system I can't for the life of me install ANYTHING! No kexts...packages..nothing! I have a hard drive to swap files between windows and OS X and half the time I can't even copy them over to my OS X drive. I'm a lot closer to complete system than I was months ago but now I'm just plain stuck...any suggestions??? I'm ALMOST there!!! |
This is the permissions bug. Search at this topic for it, RAWX86 posted somewhere in the topic an updated kernel adressing precisely this issue.
|
Is this updated kernel different from the one on the first post?

grahfex : what boot flags you used to be able to boot into the installation screen? I have a iNDO 10.7.4 release here but can't boot from it. It always says "Not an intel platform. Restart fix not applied!!"

EDIT: Tried again. This time it worked. Thanks |

effectivement , très bon boulot pour ton kernel , fonctionne également magistralement bien pour Lion 10.7.5 . :) |
Do you guys think I need a different Kernel for my Mach Kernel? Sometimes command -legacy busratio=17 UsekernelCache=No npci=0x3000 PCIRootUID=0 Graphics Enabler=Yes does not work! I'm using Mach Kernel v4 with a Amd Phenom II x4 965 3.4ghz and gigabyte gtx 570 card with 4 gigs of ddr3 ram. Motherboard is Asus M4A79XTD EVO. That or maybe I need a different command. My Hackintosh Lion acts very strange. I have to shut my computer down like 3 times before the command finally works, why the heck would that be?
|
Godofwar, If you're still using Bronzovka's kernel, you should definitely replace it with R:A:W:X86's kernel from the first post on this page.
Also, you can put all those kernel flags in the <Kernel Flags> section of /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist. |
Quote:
Also, I accidently posted on this topic. :D Oh yeah, can I replace that kernel while I'm on Hackintosh Lion Or do I have to replace it while I'm on my Windows 7 side? And if I have to do it on my Windows 7 side, what program to you recommend I use so I can read/write to my Mac side? |
You can simply rename the RAWX86's kernel to, say, RAW, before putting it at the root of your Lion system. Doing that, you won't need to replace the older one (that's named mach_kernel) and will be able to use it if the things go wrong and RAWX86's kernel doesn't work with your current 10.7.2 installation.
If you do as i advised, just remember to boot using the name you gave to the kernel as a boot flag. If you call it RAW, just type RAW and, just for safety, npci=0x3000 and hit enter. If you want to boot with your older kernel, just doesn't type anything. |

EDIT : nvm, i'm already able to boot after 10.7.4 update with RAWX custom kernel. Weird because im using bulldozer but instead of 64bit support only, mine is 32bit userland only. I'll try the fix and hope it will be fixed this time! :D |
wohow! Couldn't get any happier than this! Finally after few months, already perfected my lion with 10.7.4 update and 32/64bit support! :D
thanks RAWX86 for the kernel and gils  |
Congrats! :)
|
Is there any reason I should update from 10.7.3 to 10.7.4 or no reason and should I just be happy to run 10.7.3 as is? Is 10.7.4 too complicating? I just updated to 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 successfully today. I replaced the finder and machkernel than it worked. But than I had to install official Nvidia drivers which actually worked better than the Nvidia kexts I was using on 10.7.2.

What you did from 10.7.2 to 10.7.3 should be almost the same if not exactly. ;) |

That might be the case. Mine, i have xfx hd5770 which is mac osx friendly with the earlier versions unfortunately Lion make it useless if not flashed. So this time i would be getting another card for my hackintosh enough for some editing, i believe xcode dont need much of it.
|
Anyway to get all 4 or 5 of my speakers to work with Hackintosh Lion 10.7.3 with my Creative X-fi Soundcard? Or am I stuck with 2.1 sound from only 2 speakers? I'm using Voodoo hda the lastest version I believe. Oh yeah, I'm currently using Leopard as my Wallpaper even tho I'm on Lion. I just thought Lion had the ugliest Wallpaper I've ever seen. I think Leopard and Snow Leopard had better looking Wallpaper that gives Hackintosh a better feel for me personally.
http://oi45.tinypic.com/fu0sav.jpg Edit: I probably should have posted this on the other topic now that I think about it but it seems like more people are responding to this topic for some reason... Maybe people are sick of the zillion questions I have, or just coincidence. :D |
^ where's your soundcard installed? USB or PCI?

how could you miss that? Were you not the one who installed it in your system?
X-Fi Titanium Base on that post, your audio seems not to support 5.1 natively. I havent really read the whole part of it.... :P |

opsss, sorry. What i mean is that lion hackintosh does not support it natively as per that page i've posted.
