Hey i cant get my Video card working ='{
I hope someone can preconfigure a kext for me that would be very kind :)

Device ID: 0x5d4f
Manufacter: ATI (0x1002)
Model ATI 850PCIe

zephyroth 01-07-2008 02:36 PM

I will try to make a pkg for ATI today and modify kexts with your device id (if needed).
It will be on the wiki this afternoon.

naquaada 01-07-2008 11:10 PM

Could you add the code for the X1600Pro too? It's 71c2. Does leopard support AGP in any way?

creative_ 01-07-2008 11:17 PM

That would be very nice zeph ;) Im looking forward

Puttabong 01-07-2008 11:40 PM

naquaada, have you tried this tutorial?

[Guide] ATI x1x00 Video Cards on Leopard; QE/CI Enabled, Keywords: x1600 x1800 x1650

Zealot 01-08-2008 12:27 AM

There`s also a pkg on irc made by netcast that gives support to the 3850/3870 series of cards , its in irc.osx86.hu #radeon .I think it uses modified kext from 10.5.2 , anyho it worked for me i hope that works for others too.

naquaada 01-08-2008 02:37 AM

I used the guide, it's a variation of borisbadenow method. I get QE/CI, but I also have mouse tearing (blocks). But it's not so dramatic.
Interesting: If I use Xbench, I notice a speedup! On Tiger 10.4.7 I get on my Athlon 64 3700+ with all components about 92-96, with Leopard up to 102 on the same configuration. I think the guys from Apple really have better features when they create a new operating system...

creative_ 01-08-2008 10:16 PM

Really need help for my Video Card cant get it working please someone help me...

zephyroth 01-09-2008 02:42 AM

I've uploaded some drivers on rapidshare.
Check the wiki.

creative_ 01-09-2008 03:30 AM

Zephyroth ATI x19x0 doesn't work for me it says Extensions could not be used

zephyroth 01-09-2008 04:01 AM

Oups prolly a problem with permissions.

chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/"the kext"
chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/"the kext"

creative_ 01-09-2008 01:53 PM

This gives me Kernel Panic =(

//hope anyone can help me =(

naquaada 01-10-2008 03:52 AM

I tested the X19x0 package on my X1600Pro PCI-E, repaired permissions and got a blank white screen after reboot. The code of my X1600Pro (0x71c2) is already listed in info.plist.

creative_ 01-10-2008 04:13 AM

Same problem grey screen with apple logo

naquaada 01-10-2008 06:47 AM

I"ve just looked and if you have a X1600 I don't understand why you tried a driver for X19x0 series ...

naquaada 01-10-2008 07:34 AM

I try everything ;) always in hope to get it working. In Natit (a part from the X19x0 package) my X1600 with my code 0x71c2 was listed.

Patching in MacOS is as much fun as programming in C64-Basic with a lot of PEEK, POKE and SYS-commands. I love something like this.

creative_ 01-10-2008 09:58 PM

Still no process with my 850XT

naquaada 01-11-2008 02:11 AM

Could you give me the exact name, including manufacturer, and the ID code of your card?

creative_ 01-11-2008 02:35 AM

Device ID: 0x5d4f
Manufacter: ATI (0x1002)
Model ATI 850PCIe

naquaada 01-11-2008 03:49 AM

I added the drivers in your 850XT thread.

creative_ 01-11-2008 08:20 PM

It says that i have to reboot when i restart all the time grey screen and reboot window

naquaada 01-11-2008 08:58 PM

that's a kernel panic. try booting with -v and watch the output.

creative_ 01-11-2008 10:44 PM

What should i watch for? Its wrong kext ?

naquaada 01-11-2008 11:38 PM

what output do you get if you're booting with -v ?

Puttabong 01-11-2008 11:41 PM

@creative: boot in verbose mode (-v), and then make a picture of your desktop, we have to see the error output!

creative_ 01-11-2008 11:42 PM

ok i will reinstall the kexts and then i will report to you

creative_ 01-11-2008 11:56 PM

Heres the screen
http://img529.imageshack.us/img529/9531/dscn0907hz7.jpg

any ideas?

creative_ 01-12-2008 08:35 PM

Is this the wrong screen or no ideas?

naquaada 01-12-2008 09:05 PM

hm maybe the modified kext has conflicts with your X850. I could try it again, but I don't know if the RadeonX1000 is suitable for the X850 at all.

creative_ 01-12-2008 09:26 PM

damn....

Puttabong 01-12-2008 09:38 PM

creative_: which application did you use to gain the given device id?

creative_ 01-12-2008 09:39 PM

System Profiler

he has success with my card..dont know how he done this any ideas?

Puttabong 01-14-2008 10:17 PM

Hey Tim, sorry but that isn't even working successfully, here's why:

Core Image: Software
Quartz Extreme: Incompatible

No QE/CI, that means the driver doesn't work correctly, you will need it for a good Leopard experience!

I have also done a little research about your card, but there aren't any good guides about your card anywhere... :( At least that's what it seems like. Don't give up though!!

If you'd consider to buy a different card, what would you need it for? Only OS X? If so, then I reccommend XFX 7600 GT. Not expensive and nice performance.

Kind Regards

FUJICCO 01-17-2008 08:59 PM

thanks zephyroth

my graphic card ID appeard on ur wiki(vendors & devices page),thank u so much!

Could u upload the driver pkg of my graphic card(RADEON X800GTO{0x554f}) that u made on rapidshare.

I want to use it whether you can upload.

zephyroth 01-17-2008 11:51 PM

The dev-id are just on the wiki so you can put them on the Info.plist of the driver you plan to use ...
I don't know if your card is working or not ...
At the moment I'm focused on the stability of Rev.2, third party drivers will come later.

FUJICCO 01-18-2008 07:40 PM

zephyroth,I understood,thanks.

I'm planning to put DEVICE ID on the Info.plist of some drivers that I will select.

I'll tell u If the attempt is successful or not. bye!

laxattack 01-27-2008 10:20 AM

just to add a device id i have a Sapphire ATI Radeon x1650pro

ati x1200 from acer laptop

1 Attachment(s)
this is the device info for my igc on my laptop still only vesa support as far as i know, if anyone has anymore info to get QE/CI/OpenGL. i know how to edit kext files but it seems that i need the whole pkg for the video to work full on because to the rs690 chipset. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

pinchio 01-16-2009 05:32 AM

Need a driver for ATI x1800xl on Leopard 10.5.6

I have Leopard 10.5.6 up and running. The video card is detected however the resolution is only showing one option 1024x768.

I've spent sooo many hours trying to get this work using the dated Borisdenov and other methods but no change.

Thanks

ScottXK 02-10-2009 10:50 PM

X1270

If it is possible to get a kext working for the X1270, it's RS690 based, uses shared memory, and has a dev ID of 0x791f.

It reports that there are no kexts loaded. I only have a selection of 1024x768, and editing boot.plist and using "Graphics Mode"="1280X800X32" at bootup doesn't help either. Any fix would be greatly appreciated.

Using Zephyroth 10.5.2.

rom1 02-18-2009 10:28 PM

ATI x1200 : "Graphics Mode"="1280X1024X32" OK

Hello,

Try other resolutions such as 1280x1024 or 1600x1400.
They both work for me with an ATI x1200

I have not yet find a kext to get QE
At the moment I have not used any video kext or anything for RS690.

Hi!!!!!!!please help me.......I already tried my best, but i cannot found my graphics driver.....
My...Graphics card is ATI Readeon X1200.....
Device ID: 0x791e
Manufacter: ATI (0x1002).....
I am using iPC 10.5.6 0s x86......

ScottXK 04-15-2009 04:05 PM

I've been reading up on graphics chipsets and have gone through a metric ton of threads and posts about X12x0 cards.

I only get 1024x768 too. It seems that I am not the only person with this card who can't do much with it too. The need for a kext for it is high, if anyone can make one, that would be epic! I don't care about QE/CI, just resolution change.

Can't Callisto perform that for you?
I have an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M (0x5a621002), no IOAccelerator possible ofcourse but the IOFramebuffer functionality works fine (including resolution switching) with Callisto...
