Could you add the code for the X1600Pro too? It's 71c2. Does leopard support AGP in any way?

There`s also a pkg on irc made by netcast that gives support to the 3850/3870 series of cards , its in irc.osx86.hu #radeon .I think it uses modified kext from 10.5.2 , anyho it worked for me i hope that works for others too.

I used the guide, it's a variation of borisbadenow method. I get QE/CI, but I also have mouse tearing (blocks). But it's not so dramatic.
Interesting: If I use Xbench, I notice a speedup! On Tiger 10.4.7 I get on my Athlon 64 3700+ with all components about 92-96, with Leopard up to 102 on the same configuration. I think the guys from Apple really have better features when they create a new operating system... |

I tested the X19x0 package on my X1600Pro PCI-E, repaired permissions and got a blank white screen after reboot. The code of my X1600Pro (0x71c2) is already listed in info.plist.

that's a kernel panic. try booting with -v and watch the output.

@creative: boot in verbose mode (-v), and then make a picture of your desktop, we have to see the error output!

hm maybe the modified kext has conflicts with your X850. I could try it again, but I don't know if the RadeonX1000 is suitable for the X850 at all.

The Device ID of X800GTO ON WIKI is differrent from my X800GTO's Device ID. The Device ID of mine is 0x554f(R423). On the WIKI, is 0x5d4f(R430). Plz add The Device ID (0x554f) on ur WIKI.. |

Hey Tim, sorry but that isn't even working successfully, here's why:
Core Image: Software Quartz Extreme: Incompatible No QE/CI, that means the driver doesn't work correctly, you will need it for a good Leopard experience! I have also done a little research about your card, but there aren't any good guides about your card anywhere... :( At least that's what it seems like. Don't give up though!! If you'd consider to buy a different card, what would you need it for? Only OS X? If so, then I reccommend XFX 7600 GT. Not expensive and nice performance. Kind Regards |

The dev-id are just on the wiki so you can put them on the Info.plist of the driver you plan to use ...
I don't know if your card is working or not ... At the moment I'm focused on the stability of Rev.2, third party drivers will come later. |

this is the device info for my igc on my laptop still only vesa support as far as i know, if anyone has anymore info to get QE/CI/OpenGL. i know how to edit kext files but it seems that i need the whole pkg for the video to work full on because to the rs690 chipset. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Need a driver for ATI x1800xl on Leopard 10.5.6
I have Leopard 10.5.6 up and running. The video card is detected however the resolution is only showing one option 1024x768.
I've spent sooo many hours trying to get this work using the dated Borisdenov and other methods but no change. Thanks |

If it is possible to get a kext working for the X1270, it's RS690 based, uses shared memory, and has a dev ID of 0x791f.
It reports that there are no kexts loaded. I only have a selection of 1024x768, and editing boot.plist and using "Graphics Mode"="1280X800X32" at bootup doesn't help either. Any fix would be greatly appreciated. Using Zephyroth 10.5.2. |

Try other resolutions such as 1280x1024 or 1600x1400. They both work for me with an ATI x1200 I have not yet find a kext to get QE At the moment I have not used any video kext or anything for RS690.
