zephyroth 05-28-2008 11:16 PM

I'm downloading it with my app. We will see if it works.

R0GUE 05-28-2008 11:21 PM

Good luck Zeph!!

ka911 05-28-2008 11:32 PM

wow, thats mean we will see the new pack of Leopard 10.5.3 DVD V1 very soon from Zeph ;)

zephyroth 05-28-2008 11:33 PM

no no ! you will have to be patient.
Eddie said that he will release a last DVD when 10.5.3 comes out so you better have to wait for his release.
I'm working hard, very hard on my next release but I'm working on other things too.

WinLinMac01 05-28-2008 11:41 PM

Leo4Allv4 is nearing.

I will wait for your next relese 4 sure.

about Eddie release its nice release, but I have AMD and the lost DVD Leo4All for AMD it was not good for my PC. there is some issues with his release for AMD. I hope he will make more option for us. I'm really thankful for all the hard work he did and I know you can't make every one Happy!

zephyroth 05-29-2008 12:52 AM

With 0.5Beta translate is not patched correctly (5 cpuids remains) and the app try to patch mach_kernel.ctfsys but it's impossible actually.
All other files are correctly patched. I will try to fix these 2 little issues.

zephyroth 05-29-2008 12:56 AM

I'm installing now.

CyCLoBoT 05-29-2008 01:02 AM

zephyroth, does your app work with the 10.5.3 update?

bhast2 05-29-2008 01:06 AM

feed back is it working

please say yes!!!!!!!

zephyroth 05-29-2008 01:15 AM

http://img165.imageshack.us/img165/8862/atm1053pk8.png

Yes, even with these 2 little glitch it works.

troddentrack 05-29-2008 01:19 AM

Fantastic Zephy.
Your AMD Update install the new kernel or keep the old?
Cheers
Sorry poor english

bhast2 05-29-2008 01:41 AM

so did it work???
what are the glitches

jbeckers 05-29-2008 02:13 AM

I'm having the issues with /usr/libexec/aoh/translate too. marvin's won't apply the cpuid's correctly.

jbeckers 05-29-2008 02:24 AM

small succes: with the translate from 10.5.2 the system boots into 10.5.3 correctly.

some issues though:
- "dsmos.kext cannot be used" message (fixed by reinstalling with kext helper)
- lost QE/CI (broken even after reinstalling with nvinstaller, YMMV)
- sound lost (will most probably be fixed by running applehdapatcher again)

also I might add: my main 10.5.2 install froze in the middle of the installation, so I had to get into my backup 10.5.2 install to do the update.

R0GUE 05-29-2008 03:56 AM

Hey Zeph,
Are you any closer to resolving the glitches you mentioned?

zephyroth 05-29-2008 04:05 AM

No, for the moment I'm working on something else.
It's time for me to go to sleep. I will do some tries tomorrow.

:-)

WinLinMac01 05-29-2008 05:13 AM

Please do let us know. bhast2 prepared an AMD installer. We shall see how this goes. I don't have a test partition available at the moment. Haha.

bhast2 05-29-2008 06:24 AM

killed my system i get loginwindow crashes
sad day when i have to post this from windows hahaha

WinLinMac01 05-29-2008 06:42 AM

Thanks for letting us know. =) We do appreciate your hard effort.

zephyroth 05-29-2008 11:21 AM

My system boot but I need to wait about 2 min at each boot until the desktop shows up and yes QE/CI is now in software mode (even after a reinstall of LeopardGraphicUpdate).

bhast2 05-29-2008 12:35 PM

I ran it in -v mode and it loaded everything
than when it gets to loading the login window it just crashes
and it runs it over and over and over and over again

i waited about 10 mins and it just keep crashing

so something isn't being patched right

what do you mean software mode???

SO let the rat race begin who can get a working update pack made for all amd users

zephyroth 05-29-2008 12:53 PM

I've made the test with my 0.5Beta and some things has changed since 0.4 that's why it doesn't work for you.
I manually decrypt translate and modify GeForce.kext/Contents/Info.plist but it doesn't change anything, still no QE/CI.
QE/CI is now in software mode instead of hardware mode.

zephyroth 05-29-2008 01:12 PM

I've created a GFX-String for my 8800GTS and QE/CI is back !
Today I will create a small app to create your own GFX-String easily (even if it's already easy maybe I can make this process easier).

R0GUE 05-29-2008 01:19 PM

Go Zephyroth!!
You never cease to amaze me :-)

PS: Do you think that you'll be able to get the 10.5.3 update working correctly thru AMD SWU soon?

zephyroth 05-29-2008 01:30 PM

i hope !

WinLinMac01 05-29-2008 02:19 PM

What 9.2.2 kernel version are you using? Modbin?
Going with what bhast2 has to say, I am thinking about ruining my install too.
=p

bhast2 05-29-2008 03:05 PM

awesome glad to hear

can't wait for the update to work with AMD SWU

thanks
zephyroth
are you going to make a new release for v5 soon i would love to test it for ya since i crashed two systems already
3rd time is the charm
love to try out v5

WinLinMac01 05-29-2008 04:02 PM

zephyroth is going to upload it soon. =)

Don't get everyone's hopes up just yet. Zeph needs to do a bit more work before committing to a public release and he'll upload it when he feels the time is right.

WinLinMac01 05-29-2008 04:11 PM

Ah, I thought thats what zephyroth was implying on the other thread. =p

zephyroth 05-29-2008 05:36 PM

I've found that an app already exists to create GFX string, Ethernet string and Audio string easily so ... No need to create a new app !

http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,64.60.html

R0GUE 05-29-2008 06:00 PM

Thanks Zeph, I wasn't aware that existed. This now gives you more time to get 10.5.3 working for the rest of us ;-) :-P

the only problem i see is it has only a few g cards how do add more cards too it

Jojo 05-30-2008 04:33 PM

How long does it take, before we can use the software for the update?

zephyroth 05-30-2008 04:51 PM

Something has changed in translate, I must modify the way cpuids are detected and applied. I don't know how long it will take.

Actually I'm working on a better way to retrieve the description of each updates. Almost finished.

Jojo 05-30-2008 05:42 PM

ok Zeph - I'm curious about it.

milanca 05-30-2008 06:21 PM

I tried with EFI String Creator to make string for my 8800GTS 320MB. I'm not sure what went wrong, system is booting fine but looses dvi-input, blank screen, like no video signal sent to ports. Can someone confirm (if tested) successful process with creating string for this card. I've found something like NVCap could be the problem which is sending signal. Maybe my process is of adding the string is wrong.

Jojo 06-03-2008 01:34 PM

@ zeph

is there already a solution for the 10.5.3 update?

zephyroth 06-03-2008 02:45 PM

Puttabong 06-03-2008 05:31 PM

Jojo, sometimes a picture says more than 1000 words :-) Thanks to zephy for the simple update using ASU.

Are you guys using any other things other than those which come with 10.5.3 update, AppleSMBIOS? What about Ge*, NV* kexts? I just added my efi string to default 10.5.3 kexts and i see its working very nice. I think that video card is working much better than in 10.5.2.

naquaada 06-04-2008 01:59 AM

@ milanca: do you know that?

naquaada 06-04-2008 02:35 AM

yes, and this one:

[cite] milanca:[/cite]Sys_info Screenshot
On the Mac it's System Profiler, SysInfo 3.24 was also on the Amiga :-) Do you have a standard A1200? I've reduced the most of my Amigas, now I have an A4000T/060 with 146 MB RAM, an A1200 with BlizzardPPC 060 @ 50 Mhz PPC603e @ 240 MHz and 258 MB RAM. My second A1200 has an Apollo 1240 running at 30 Mhz. I'm also using a nice C128 with CMD harddrive and 640MB SCSI MO-drive. Have you tried ScummVM and E-UAE on the Mac? Works great!

milanca 06-04-2008 02:56 AM

Thats a real amiga beast you have.. A friend of mine has the same one with blizzardPPC, zoro etc.. This one is standard A1200, @020, with Viper, scsi, cd-rom. I was messin' around with max-uae but now with e-uae and hi-toro. I also recently found my old C-64 down in my cellar, bought 1984 and in perfect working condition but all the accessories missed in action :-) only ac adaptor left and a bare machine. i have to revive this beast again soon somehow ;-)
