Install DVD :- Phenom & AMD OSX 10.5.4 EFI (Released)
Ok this dvd boots on phenom with latest 9.4.0 modbin kernel. The golden rule with this is if it doesnt boot on your machine it wont install full stop. Everything that worked in Zephys previous release is the same the changes are as follows. First the most important Full AMD Phenom Support (Inc EFI). The bootloader (Chameleon) Dual or single boot) and kernel 9.4.0 are installed with no user intervention. I could not get the ALC888 drivers to work on Zephs release so this has been fixed. Added support for ATI HD3650. Latest NTFS-3G resolves slow shutdown and restart issues. If there are any issues (not major lol) with the previous non Phenom release I may be able to fix (thats maybe!!). If there doesnt seem to be much call for this I wont release untill I can make it a 10.5.4 release (If possible with space).

@BigBadBen at the moment its 10.5.2 but if not that many are interested I'll wait till I can make it 10.5.4

asu or the combo, dont work on my system for one reson :(
so im stuck at 10.5.2 anytime i try to update my system with asu it has a kernel panic while asu is mouving package after download(kalyway,zephyroth,leo4all). anytime i try to update my system with combo update, it does install ok and then i install the kernel. kernel does never finish installing cuz it makes a kernel panic. so i do have a problem installing any updates from (i realy dont why)10.5.2 to 10.5.3 or 10.5.4 so if he make an install dvd for amd and its compatible with my amd athlon x2 64 6400(3.2) its going to be welcome by me. thx lawless for the effort and the rest off the community |

I get kernel panic also, when I try to update to 10.5.3/4 with ASU, so I hope with this release I'll be able to get over this problem.
@LawlessPPC... did u include the SB600 kexts in it? Cause without them the install takes hours on my system with IDE drive. I think I asked you already, but don't remember what you said :) |

im running install currently directly of anther Hardrive install takes about 5 mins tops. Will see what speeds like once on dvd

will this release support older AMD's such as single cores with minimum sse2? or is it strictly phenom?

Specs: - AMD Phenom 9750 - 2gb DDR2 - Nforce5 chipset - 250gb SATA2 Hd - Geforce 7600XT I installed 10.4.8 before and had issues with nforce5 ethernet (forcedeth). Would anyone know if it's fixed now? |
And how about Radeon Xpress x200 graphics? Will this release have QE/CI? Will I be able to install it on my Compaq V2000 series laptop?

just to clarify things this supports everything the Zephyroth 10.5.2 Rev 2 release did with the inclusion of ati hd3650, working alc888 3 port and 6 port and digital, latest ntfs-3g. modbin 9.4.0 kernel and chameleon bootloader (single & Dual)

ok next hurdle not much of just discovered viasata kext on dvd does not detect pata dvd drive will change and rebuild

i appear to have solved the pata dvd issue for sb600 just burning now. This problem as far as I know was causing waiting for root device when booting from dvd with the unedited version of zephs 10.5.2 rev2

On which image is your DVD based? If you used Zephyroth's DVD try if it's possible to play Video DVD images with DVD Player or FrontRow, this wasn't working on Zeph's version.

custom software same as zeph kexthelper, Marvins AMD Utility,IORegistry Explorer, Onyx I think thats it. There are no custom screens or menu's. Language support well there is only my descriptions for the ATI HD3650 which may need something but I would of thought thats pretty universal.If your forcedeth was on 10.5.2 rev2 then yes if not send me it with a proper description of what you achieve with this compared to the other.Language pack relies on Zephs previous work if it doesnt work on that one let me know. " If you want to do something unique, try to repair the language chooser which selects country and language after the reboot. This thing doesn't work since the first OSx86 image, it always defaults to English." is this on first hardrive boot after install if so will have to test and not quite sure what you mean. Its QT 7.4.5.
there isnt much space left but I may have a way. Some of the language stuff maybe a problem because of how I have made space but I have another idea which creates a much simpler installer but will require a full rebuild but thats certainly not as hard now as it was lol. The questions I dont mind 1 bit its come up with far more options than I would of thought of this how things improve good old think tank. Thanx LawlessPPC |

This is my patched patched driver. It's forcedeth-v from Leo4All V3 only for use with nForce LAN ID 0x3EF10DE. Use the forcedeth-v driver of Leo4All V3. The old one has a problem when transferring large files via network, you'll get a kernel panic then. Maybe this causes also problems with Transmission.
Hm, KextHelper and Marvin's Utility never worked for me, and I didn't need them at all. Did you? Onyx is useful, but it has again the problem that it's very often updated. Better leave it away. Maybe better would be a list with links to useful programs. The language chooser is a thing English users will never notice. If you select another language for the installation and reboot after it you'll get a very small output message 'Language Chooser failed, defaulting to English'. It's a bit nerving 'cause you have to reset everything, language, keyboard, and language settings in the system including login/logout to change the Finder's language. The Language Chooser is in /System/CoreServices, it I start it the Dock will hide and I can select a default language. Maybe the file must be AMD patched? How does your DVD and the system booting after installation? With boot logo or in -v mode? |

I woudn't boot without logo so that's easier to check what happens, not every beginner does know the -v mode.

If I want to chat I go in IRC. In earlier times I was rather often in ICQ, but I'm not using it anymore. Skype is also only for testing purposes. I'm nearly always at home, and i have a telephone flatrate so there's no messenger for my friends needed. They aren't keyboard freaks at all.

ok I've decided to do a fresh build which is a lot tidier not that the user will notice. The main benefit will save vast amounts of space. If im right its the way the main part of iATKOS V4 is built. The build wont take long its the bugs to iron out that will take the longest. The only issue is the main bugs (if there are any) will only be discovered by making great use of all part of os. May release a large image and a small image. The large will have less chance of bugs
