Yes, it works on Hackintosh (at least for me). :-)
1. Installed using Zephyroth ASU (previous version: Leo4All v3 + 10.5.4 Update) 2. Re-enabled QE on my NVIDIA 8800GT using EFI Studio Be noted that injectors do not work currently with 10.5.5 drivers so delete them if you use one. EFI strings work. http://i36.tinypic.com/29fefdh.png |
Everything worked fine here :)
|
i assume its safe to d/load for AMD via the online updates then? without having to use the Software Update from Zephyroth?
i have looked for it on the leo4all forum site but the link seems to be broken for the Zephyroth ASU updater :-( did the usual google searches with no result any idea where one can obtain this form? let me know thanks as i can't destroy my install ta :-) |

your my hero for the day thanks

i am getting this cant connect check settings error when i use the application
here is the error http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/4946/picture1ws6.png its weird as i am online and getting a connection and can see the update in the apple updates. any ideas on how to resolve this one  |
mDNSResponder Warning!!!!
AAAAHHHH!!! I just updated to 10.5.5 with ASU and I can only boot up in safe mode. I get an mDNSResponder Warning
DNSResponder[41] WARNING: sandbox_init error Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.bsd.dirhelper err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.distributed_notifications.2 err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.ocspd err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.mDNSResponderHelper err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.SecurityServer err=1100Could not set Mach lookup policy for service com.apple.SystemConfiguration.configd er |
Updating to 10.5.5 works fine here using ASU. :)
@Nateman06: Sorry to hear it, does it panic with that error? |
It stalls at that error and won't advance. I can boot in safe mode. Also, when I ran ASU the first time to install the update, it gave me the grey sreen telling me to restart my computer? So, I used OSx86tools to revert back to 10.5.4 and it boots fine now but just gave me the grey restart screen. puzzled

...funny, I just booted to 10.5.4 in verbose mode and the same error was there only it kept going and booted?
|
@timski:
I had the same problem... It seems ASU pings the apple update server and if there is no reply from the server, ASU assumes that there is no connection to the internet. If you have a router/firewall try enabling icmp traffic... It worked fine for me! Hope this helps! |

Btw. How did you manage to roll back the update using OSx86tools. I didn't think that was possible  |
After looking, I noticed that it rolled back to defaults and not to 10.5.4. It actually left the 10.5.5 in place but reset all of the system defaults. My system booted right after I did that and it's working nicely now. Thanks for responding though and if anyone else gets stuck, here's what I did:
boot in safe mode open OSx86 tools hit the Restore OS X to Defaults button (you will lose files etc.) and then restart it worked |
I also used ASU to update to 10.5.5, only problem i had was, that i needed to reinstall my audio kext...
|
Stuck with rolling ball
After the update the system cannot load the finder ( at liest i think that it is the problem). In verbose mode i get the same error as nateman06, but the boot goes further, but it stops after loading blue screen and rolling ball, already tried to lieve for the night -no progress. The bad thing is that in safe mode i get the same problem.
Please help. Maybe i can do something is single user mode? |
@ p-J: Exactly the same here. The only bug I've found thus far is the older XNU 9.4.0 kernel is having trouble staying asleep - it wakes after 10 mins of sleep for some reason :\
|
tried ASU but it keeps telling me that "no cpuid found, no need to patch" and i believe it can`t be true, so - something is wrong, tried many times - still the same. Maybe someone could make amd-patched 10.5.4>10.5.5 update and upload it somewhere ? would be very grateful

Great work as usual of Zeph's Asu 0.5.
My only problem was an hang at reboot.... restarted with -x in safe mode, restored backupped mach_kernel and all done. Well not all, i had more to reinstall audio kexts. All working now, QE & QI too... |
@kanutek:
thanks i will see if i can get that to work on me netgear router not seen anything for it yet but i am using little snitch and Doorstop firewall and i have seen nothing for ICMP on those i have disabled them and tried with no joy... do you happen to know the port number it uses maybe? i have sent a mail to netgear to see how to enable this as i can't see anything fingers crossed :-) |
yeah, I haven't been able to successfully upgrade to 10.5.5 yet either... it freezes half-way through the upgrade process every time... I'm so frustrated from having to re-do my system 3 times over now... ugh!
EDIT: Finally!... ASU wasn't correctly applying the patches the first few times it downloaded to modify. This time it did. 29 of 29 visited files were successfully patched. 79 of 79 found patches were successfully applied. Good to go. |

I don't know your router model but I found a release note of a firmware update for a netgear router that mentioned that one of the features that the firmware added was the possibility of enabling / disabling icmp.. good luck! |
yeah its the DT834GT model i haven't seen anything in the router menu's for it i have the latest firmware still waiting for Netgear to get back to me ...
thanks for all your help though:cool: |
ok i found it and took the plunge i got the modified update from here http://www.filedropper.com/modified-...8-september-15
and installed and rebooted http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/7...5updateqv1.png result up with no issues hurrah :-) |
I have installed the 10.5.5 update using ASU and I had no problem except the kernel continues to be 9.4.0...
Has anyone got the 9.5.0 kernel working or do we have to wait for the new 9.5.0 Voodoo XNU kernel? @timski: No problem! |
Hey Guys,
Last week I had iDeneb v1.1 installed and using ASU to update to 10.5.5 worked ok. The only thing I had to do is install XDarwin Nvidia Installer V 1.1 OSX to make my 8800GT work in hardware mode again. This week I installed LawlessPPCPhenomLeo (10.5.4) and when I run ASU to upgrade to 10.5.5 it gets stuck in "Detecting cpuids for MacOSXUpd 10.5.5.pkg". I even let it alone for a couple of hours in this state to see if it works eventually, but didn't. If anyone knows what's happening here I will appreciate your help! In the meantime I'll try the modified pkg posted in this thread. Regards! |

Restored back 9.4.0 XNU's one. Anyway if you like to try it it is here: http://groups.google.com/group/xnu-d...o-9-5-0-kernel |
I mean downloading it, if it ever downloads! That site filedropper really downloads by drops. Been trying all day to download the file, but if it's not sluggish, it crashes half way!
Anyway I started the web download from apple site, (10.5.5 update). Gonna try patching the binaries in the file with marvin's amd utility and see what happens! |
You'll need to do more than just patch it with Marvins. There will be some kexts and the kernel that you will need to remove before attempting to upgrade.
If you can i would use ASU to patch it. |
