Solution to the IOKitWaitQuiet problem!
Hey!
I´ve been having a problem with long boot time on my machine. Finally I found out that the problem was caused by the IOATAFamily.kext I started a thread about this on insanelymac, and thanks to two guys there, coolyou and ar4er, this problem is a thing of the past. Here is the thread: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.p...2&#entry987152 - Ztardust - |
Finally! My machine now boots within 40 seconds :)
|

Problem on shutdown: Break on __THE_PROCESS_HAS_FORKED....
Well this sweet action dropped my boot time to 28.6 Seconds from Post to Desktop but now when I shut down I get this error:
Break on __THE_PROCESS_HASFORKED_AND_YOCANNOT_USE_THIS_CORE FOUNDATION_FUNCTIONALITY__YOU_MUST_EXEC__() to debug. The process has forked and you cannot use this CoreFoundation functionality safely. You Must exec(). |
This is a great work... my boot time is half time than before...
It really works. Thanks p.s. now i'll try the shutdown edit: shutdown was without errors. |

I posted a new thread and I forgot all about this one. Here is a new IOATAFamily.kext version 2.0.1 from 10.5.8 with the timing changed and recompiled. Boot time 24 seconds with and 72 seconds without.
