Sweet. Good work! Congratulations.
|
Chomping at the bit... Thanks for all your work, fellas.
|
Great News, i can´t wait...:D
|
Will this recognise my sata drive now?
|
It depends on your chipset ... and if you don't tell us what is it, we can't tell you !
|
How can I beta test this release? Rev. 2 will have a ppf patch? It's better and faster to download!
I have a problematic notebook with nforce mcp51 + sata hard-disk. It will good if I could test my with my specs before rev.2 final release. |
Rev.2 will be another ISO as a lot of changes has been made on it.
After Rev.2, updates will be ppf patchs. |

Contact Bonkey by sending him a pm on insanelymac.
We don't have a beta tester with a notebook. |
Ok, thanks, I really want to help rev.2!
|
Hello,
how can i get this version? I have tried too many versions found in Forum/Internet but doesen't work very well, i have see your Image Version to the insan...mac forum and is very beatiful and complete with many drivers but i dont find a link for downloading. Can you help me? |
It's currently in beta testing by the Wiki Mods.
It will be released before you know it. Just be patient for a bit, you could try Rev1 for now. |
Fine guys!. I guest that everybody does want tro try and contribute. If there is any request for testing, just ask for it. Thanks to Zephyroth and good luck with the beta!...
|
Hey Zeph ;)
Got the LAN fixed ey, good work m8. Also nice to add additional languages for us foreigners ;) I'm gonna get the rev2 for future use since the rev1 works stable enough for now. So thx again for either release. Who'd think the name "Zephyroth" would become famous ;) |
I have gaming MSI GX710 laptop. It would be nice if i can be beta tester to check is this DVD working on my laptop. Some info is on this page http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=prodtmpspec&prod_no=1235&maincat_no =135&cat2_no=&cat3_no=#menu
Zephyroth thx for the support |
If you're adding new languages, only the one selected during installation should be selected. Some images have all languages selected by default which needs 2 Gig on Tiger. I would'nt apply any 3rd-party-software on the disc 'cause such software (f.e. Colloquy, Cyberduck, NeoOffice) is updated so often that you have outdated software on the DVD in two weeks. Maybe it's possible to save space on zhe disc if some progs/packages where prepared with the Xslimmer first, normally we don't need any PPC code on an OSx86 Install DVD.
My personal wishes: better ATI support (X1600Pro and HD2600 for me), PS/2 support and a better working System Profiler which recognizes AMD CPUs correctly. Plz add a script which makes the partition/HD bootable automatically, too. Greetings, Naquaada. |

I think that one would have to write a script which automatically detects the proper CPU Name, and which then writes this name into the AboutThisMac.strings file. I personally don't know how to detect an AMD CPU without showing "Unknown Processor" in OS X, however, I do know that some programs, like GeekBench, are able to detect it: http://www.imagehut.eu/images/30012Bild%201.png Kind Regards, Puttabong |
Hm, the System Profiler of Myzar 10.4.7 shows the correct information, I think (pic). Only the text 'InsanelyMac SX4' (for SiXty4) I inserted myself. If we should get the System Profiler so that he could display correct model names, they should be based on 'InsanelyMac' and 'InsanelyBook'. I think the forum deserves it, without Insanelymac we never would have come so far.
Also for RC2 DVD: Plz reduce the darwin wait time back to 10 seconds like in 10.4.x after the installation. I know it could be changed later, but its annoying. Could anyone create an apple.com.boot.plist editor? This would speed up things. Something different: Does anyone know a good trick to get the black arrows back in the dock? There are some mods, but mostly they set the dock to flat style, too. Are there some demo programs to show the Core Animation abilities yet? Greetings, Naquaada. |
Ah, I think that EFI allows to display it properly. At least your screenshot looks like EFI usage.

I changed mine to 1 second :) |
I wanted to commend Zephyroth on efforts made to make osx run in all its glory for us AMD users. Unfortunately the first revision from Zephyroth 10.5.1 did not work out for me. The dvd comes up and in the middle of darwin loading it kernel panics along the way and never gets to any installation screen at all.
Here are my specs from CPUz and curious if it is at all compatible with rev 1 and 2. Thanks! http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rcub/cpuz1.gif http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c1...rcub/cpuz2.gif |
I have a Dell E521
AMD X2 4200 4GB DDR2 800 MHZ Nvidia 7300 GT NFORCE 430/410 Chipset Broadcom 440X NIC HD Audio Wondering if release 2 will run on it. I really, really hope so. I got 10.4 to work on it but that was only with a USB drive and the performance was unacceptable. Anything I can do to help test just ask. I'm sending this from my Kalyway install on my Intel Machine. I love Leopard! |
Will it recognise my HDD this time>?

Thanks ! |
I personally think that there should definitely be support for Chinese, as well.
|
@Puttabong can i just ask you if you can tell me if this v2 of leopard will recognise my HDD this time? Thanks

Is this 32-bit platform or 64-bit platform ????
if it's 32 bit platform, when will 64-bit platform be released ? |

Yes, I mean the same!
I am currently searching for the Chinese.pkg, so if you have it, then send it to me as soon as possible. I'll ask zephyroth to add it into Rev.2, then. |
Hey everyone I have used Rev 1 and had many problems but fixed most except Network and Graphics card so I was wondering if you could fill me in on Rev 2 and let me know if my system is going to run this release well. And Thank you soo much Zephyroth for the first release and all your hard work on Rev 2 I can't wait to get my hands on it.

I also have 2 gigs of RAM Please let me know if any of the beta testers are testing it out or if you already know that these things will work in Rev2. I'm also willing to test on my system if you need a tester with the previous specs. |

Hehe, roisoft - good job ;)
|
wow! Now we´re talking!
it seems amazing! No problems with boot anymore, support for nforce4 lan, and geforces 5,6,7,8 video! Can´t wait to install it! I had some problems to write at NTFS partitions. I think it would be very useful if some kind of support be enable at rev.2 anyway, good job! Can´t wait for the final version. |
@braid: The only way to read/write NTFS on Mac OS X is using a third party program, called MacFuse!

Hey Zephyroth, I just bought a new pc with a phenom quad core, do you have any tester with that CPU? I would love to test otherwise. I can give you my specs if needed.
BTW, the system does work with Tubgirls latest release and I updated it to 10.4.11 with HChKn's installer, which still has a few bugs but I got the CPU to be recognized but I think it's only using two cores ATM not sure though... |
X-tra ---> we don't have any tester with that kind of cpu
|
Have you guys got a tester with an ati x1250/RS690 graphics chip yet? I haven't been able to get mine to work yet, and I'm willing to test.
|
Hi guys!!
Will work this rev 2 on my pc?? I only have 512MB RAM i am newbie and i would like to install MAC OS ON MY PC sorry for my bad english |
Im willing to test as well if you say so.
|
I always would help to test, but my boards are all nForce 3 and nForce 4 (SLI) which are very common. But I'm open to test any hack.
Here are things I noticed: - Are there known problems with different Athlon 64 CPUs? I installed without problems on an 3700+, also a friend on his FX57. But we both also have an 4000+ and there were problems, like the '1 minute left' thing. All CPUs are Socket 939 with San Diego Core on nForce 4 chipset. - Sometimes the cursor keys weren't working. Keyboard is connected via PS/2, all other keys are working. - The volume control in the menu bar and the volume/mute keys on my Logitech keyboard sometimes have no effect, while in the System Preferences volume and balance is working. After logout/login it's working again, this never appeared in Tiger. I have Realtek ALC850 Audio. - After patching my Gfx drivers there was something curious: every time the desktop appeared (maybe if loginwindow was executed), my CRT monitor made an automatic degauss. After I ran Onyx 1.9 (Leopard only) this problem was cured. - There is no more loading bar 'Starting Mac OS X' after the grey boot screen, only a blue screen for a rather long time. I patched loginwindow.app to enter a CPU type, could this be the problem? - Why isn't AppleVIAATA.kext used anymore? HD access seems to be a lot slower with nForceATA. Without VIAATA.kext is also no more support for the often used SiliconImage SiI3114 SATA Raid controllers. As I was booting the Install DVD on a system (also nForce 4) with an unformatted SATA-HD (500GB) booting stopped, last output was something with NTFS drivers. I booted with my long-time-used Myzar 10.4.6 DVD (which uses AppleVIAATA.kext) I had no problems with booting and was able to format the HD in disk utility. - How good tested is overclocking? This could maybe an error source, my friend has an FX-57 and already slighly overclocked Tiger 10.4.7 had problems with IDE. We're no experts in overclocking, that maybe something for others. - The install DVD isn't booting when I put it into my 1571 drive, it's only making scratchy rappling noises. Additional Software: I would recommend Onyx 1.9. It can cure some problems on the system and helps to clean it up. Useful is also 'KeyViewer' from www.macupdate.com, it's a little Applescript that opens the inbuilt onscreen-keyboard. Especcially for Windows-switchers its good to have an overview to the new keyboard layout. Does anyone know a good demo for CoreAnimation to show Leopard's new features? To have a game, how about PlasmaPong? It's a color-spectaculum and size is less than 10 MB. If there are people who have problems with X1x00 cards tell me in the ATI thread, I will try to patch drivers. I need the device ID for this, the exact card name including manufacturer would also be good. For german (or maybe other) users: I made a Windows keyboard hack that switches Alt and Strg (Ctrl) like in the default MacOS layout. There're also versions which are disabling the Windows keys and/or remapping Caps Lock with AltGr, so it's very easy to get the @ in Windows. Booster: we need some more system infos. If you only have an Athlon XP it won't work ;) |

Hello guys
Starting to say thanks to zephyrot by all the work done in this rev.2 of his DVD. i think it will help a lot of users(me included :)) So, like others users here, i can be a tester of your rev2 if you want The first DVD that you made doesnt work on my laptop :S it doesnt recognize my hd. My laptop is an acer aspire 5520-5679 The laptop's hardware is: AMD Turion64 x2 Chipset nForce 560 HD SATA 160GB Nvidia GeForce 7000M Graphics Card I think that there aren't too much users with chipset nForce5xx, so if you want i can help By now, cya guys |
Posted also in my "kernel panic" thread but I figure I will place this here since most visit this thread.
Here is a camera phone picture of what I am running into trying to get the blasted install screen. I have yet to see anything past this point. I have tried the following at boot mach_kernel -x mach_kernel -x -f mach_kernel -x -f platform=X86PC (and tried ACPI -legacy same stuff above just without the mach_kernel but I think you get the point. I have hooked up ps2 keyboard/mouse and disabled the onboard USB. I have also disabled Serial ATA, Parrallel port, onboard audio, onboard lan. I am out of options I think.
