So i tried installing it, followed directions, ran script and it printed out a few lines containg a little text and a few numbers (cant remember what it said)
does that mean it installed, how can i check to see if its working properly? i replaced the appleSMBios.kext with the one included in the efiv8.zip i got and now it shows the "about my mac" screen with the proper info |
this i want to know, too.
i asked this in the other thread . |
imo - the simplest way is to get geekbench2 and run the tests. if they didn't show you that you own 'Hackintosh' - then efi is fine, otherwise read guidelines one more time :)
|
good idea , ill try it
|
still says hackintosh
|
Hi!
Try with this AppleSmbios http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2ic9mzziead and add this file to /system/library/systemprofiler http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?2jx2oya19wx dont´forget repair the permissions... |
does geekbench really report hackintosh (or not) depending on EFI?
as i understand the infos, it is only the exchanged applesmbios file reporting. or does this file need efi to work? http://forum.netkas.org/index.php/topic,41.0.html |
I will give it a shot- gimme a minute cuz im in windows right now
|
still shows hackintosh.. there has to be an actuall way to see if its even working or installed properly
|
it works if using stock AppleACPIPlatform.kext your system can boot .
|
hmm..well then i will try that
|
should i only do that one kext? i found a whole pack of vanilla kexts, but im worried of screwing my system
|
okay i did it and it boots, system profiler shows mac pro, geekbench shows hackintosh, i think at boot i catch a glimpse of it saying EFI Enhanced... blah blah blah- to quick to read it!
and i replaced the AppleACPIPlatform.kext with a "vanilla" one booted just fine |
Hi all, I want to ask you something about EFI.
After installing EFI and replace the AppleSMBIOS.kext reboot and at the Darwin I press F8. Than I boot with -v and after loading .mkext the PC just restart. I tried with all available options like -v -f -x -s. The only thing that I can do is to repair the partition with StartupFileTool. I tried to install on MBR and GUID partitions. Every time restart. P.S. Sorry for my English :) |
