AcerŽ AspireŽ 4530-6823.
Hey: guys,
Below in my signature is the specs of my laptop. I've been trying to install OSX on it, but no luck. Installer DVD don't boot. Already tried XxX Final DVD: Already tried with iatkos 5i: Boot with "-f -v" and (first not reload extensions, sound like it skeeps "-f" flag) after loading extensions(.mkext) stop loading.... I think it's maybe because haven't the chipset kext. Already tried Kalyway 10.5.2: Boot "modbinkernel -f -v" and load all the extensions, reboot. This one sound like the kernel don't support my cpu. I'm thinking about using other distro: leo4all or zeph, but besides that, no else to do.... Any help would be great. |

I'm not going to be able to help you, I just thought I'd let you know that we have a similar thread started at Insanely Mac and are going to try to figure it out also... I've tried a bunch of distro's and have yet to figure out whats the problem... Keep me posted! Zephyrot 10.5.2 v2 and LawlessPPCPhenomLeo and iPC 10.5.6 apparently also do the same thing! I can't find any information in the forums or wiki about support for the processor or video card. I've looked all over, there was mention of the processor on the Portuguese portion of the forums but Google Translate didn't help much. I don't know much about programing or Macs in general but I am trying. If I could get help to at least get computer to install and boot, I could probably figure out the kexts for the other peripherals myself (Hopefully! http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/sty...t/rolleyes.gif ). I tried to be as thorough as possible on this information! Thanks for the help guys! |
If it reboots on its own even in -v I guess the problem is the kernel. I would try some 10.5.6 release that has the latest Voodoo kernel posible and use the cpus=1 flag, that should give you best chances than all those old releases.

i booted XxX Final DVD and install it, now just having usual troubles, it seems that the DVD didn't install me voodoo kernel, still can't boot into the system, but it's rolling, let's wait. |

I read about NVidia Zeph's installer, you could try that one.

I can't find anything related to that yet. Do I have to download another distro to get it?

So i found some fixes, but there still huge troubles.
1. Still haven't CI/QE. (I had to thxs SaCleoCheaters for his help modding NVInjectGo to load with Geforce 9100) 2. i have better touchpad support now(tapping) but still missing scrolling. 3. Still no sound. 4. Still no networks device 5. No battery info. And i had some crashing when open iChat to see the camera. I think maybe is because the lack of CI/QE. Here is something strange, i was using Default Theme of Chameleon 2, and change it to use Chameleon-Theme, and before that my graphics was 1024x768 and now after changing the theme i'm getting 1280x800(but looks a little crappy [i have archlinux already installed and i'm getting 1280x800, so MacOSX 1280x800 against the one of Archlinux sucks.]) |

No luck with the scrolling, until now, will keep trying.

Btw, i used default PS/2 kext from iPC 10.5.6 and it fully works with scrolling |

Ok, so could you post your ps2 kexts/pkgs from iPC.

So it seems I'm behind the times... but I do have decided to install OSX on my Acer Aspire 4530 Series. The OS is installed, but I am having driver / hardware problems.
Webcam Nvida 9100M Lan Ethernet Atheros Wi-Fi * I used iPC 10.5.6 Also is there a fix to boot OSX without having the USB mouse? |

I found this version to be even better than iPC
iDeneb_v1.6_1058_Lite_Edition - Voodoo 9.5 Kernel - VoodooPS2Controller (first one) This is bare minimum needed to load the Mac OSx86 As for the other drivers I have had little luck. I am doing research of the devIDs... I'm guessing everyone on this thread had disappeared. If they reappear I would be happy to share other information. |
i tried with the devIDs of the nvidia9100 embedded card by modding the kexts with the help of SaCleoCheaters, maybe i could send it to u by mail if u want.
and as the ethernet and wi-fi never find out nothing just as you. i think you could search the Indian community for info. |
HI I'm new in this forum. Just like you I'm still looking for a nice distro for this notebook.
I haven't been lucky with Leo but I managed to install Snow Leo on 4530 using Hazard's 10.6.2 Distro. Here's some info I can share after countless reinstalls. This combination somehow works for me. Mine is has Turion zm-80 BTW The usb mouse trick is still needed or else it'll reboot. Airport works after the 2nd reboot but no light on the button WebCam Works Bluetooth Works with light on button USB works Card Reader Works Battery Meter works Trackpad works but no scroll No Sound NVidia doesn't work Broadcomm Ethernet doesn't work Here's what I selected BlackKnight 10.2.0 Kernel Chameleon 3 RC5 works. AMD Patch AtherosFix ACPIBattery MACAM Voodoops2trackpad ElliottForceLegacyRTC IOATAFamily_SATA_Fix + All Patches except Orange_Icon_Fix and Card_Reader |

Well, I have a Atheros AR5007EG in my acer aspire 4530 (dunno if that's supposed to be there) and I used this guide to make it work!
