The installation works fine on my system except the "temacs crash".
If the installation takes time in the last minute its because it does a "diskutil repairPermissions" on the install partition.
I've added the SystemProfiler fix (SPPlatformReporter, SPiPlatformReporter, SPMemoryReporter) and replace "translate" from 10.5.2 with the one from 10.5.1 (multiple crash with multiple apps).
The extensions folder in the DVD has been deleted.
I will write a howto to add kexts in the DVD (if you need to).

Please don't blame me if it doesn't work on your system. It takes time just to make it stable on mine ...

Further updates will be ppf or mpkg files.

quark 02-16-2008 05:40 PM

So that will be a "release" DVD?

zephyroth 02-16-2008 05:40 PM

yes

quark 02-16-2008 05:44 PM

Great news... I've killed my 10.5.1 while playing with kexts and some software... So I'll be able to install 10.5.2 from the scratch...
uTorrent is up and running :)

althon 02-16-2008 05:52 PM

WoW, COOL!!! :)

subsonic 02-16-2008 05:55 PM

Weeee =) Lovely news, zephy! I just hope i'm able to install it. Your 10.5.1 release didn't work with my chipset, it took more than 2 hours just to see the leopard installer wallpaper. Never been able to go further with the installation. Anyways, my hopes are up =)

bhast2 02-16-2008 06:07 PM

so we will see a download link soon?

subsonic 02-16-2008 06:09 PM

i'm sure we will ... at least i hope so ^^

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 07:53 PM

sounds like hurry up to me, Zeohyroth, will you tell us what the name of the torrent file will be? so we don't have to hunt for the torrent all day? do you have an ETA? It will be an installation only right? no further configuration after that?

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 07:57 PM

Zephyroth what timezone are you in, and what is your current upload speed? I will turn on my other machine when your upload status is complete. I can get the torrent file info from any site right? Thank you.

zephyroth 02-16-2008 08:00 PM

No torrent yet. I will upload it on newsgroup and then it will be on torrent.

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:03 PM

What is newsgroup? How do I sign up? Are we able to download from there?

Question regarding 10.5.2 Release. Instead of seeing verbose mode when boot-up process is on in the beginning, will we be able to see a gray screen with the apple logo for once?

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:15 PM

What is better: Azeureus or uTorrent? Just to make my download run smoothly? let me know, thanks

akireyev 02-16-2008 08:17 PM

How can I get access to the newsgroup?

megaargon1 02-16-2008 08:17 PM

How long does it take to upload on the NewsGroup? Like others have said, I would like to start downloading once the torrent is made available. Thank you very much Zephyroth. We all very much appreciate your great efforts in making this possible. |:-)|

Both clients are good.

McDead 02-16-2008 08:21 PM

Gentlemen start your engines!
I'm using uTorrent and never had any problems and the best ist it fits on my USB stick.

uTorrent is better. Needs less resources, doesn't need an installation and is absolutely leightweight. I am using it all the time so i can recommend it.

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:31 PM

are there any speed differences?

akireyev 02-16-2008 08:33 PM

Quote:

[cite] WinLinMac01:[/cite]are there any speed differences?
No.
The speed depends only on your connection to the net

DoiX 02-16-2008 08:33 PM

yes there are speed differences with utorrent i have 200kb/s from mininova, azureus 60 kb/s (same torrent)

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:37 PM

could be because of less allocation of memory resources.

1207FX 02-16-2008 08:40 PM

for me, most every torrnet with Utorrent is much faSTER than azureas in wondows. Bitrocket is what I used in Mac, didnt have it up long so not sure how well it worked

DoiX 02-16-2008 08:40 PM

probably. anyway on os x im using transmission it's the best :)

Puttabong 02-16-2008 08:43 PM

BitRocket is my choice :)

subsonic 02-16-2008 08:45 PM

Zeph, one question please. Is the newsgroup a public one?

1207FX 02-16-2008 08:46 PM

I agree "Puttabong", while I had Tiger running, Transmission seemed to be slower than BitRocket!

I didn't like Tomato either.

DoiX 02-16-2008 08:48 PM

BitRocket crashes after 5 minutes don't know why and i don't really care why :)

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:50 PM

I hope newsgroup is a public one. i think i understand what I am saying

subsonic 02-16-2008 08:54 PM

Me neither *lol*

I just thought there must be something like public newsgroups since the program i've downloaded (Newsgroup Commander/Win) shows up some public newsgroups.

That's why I've asked ^^

By the way, is it just me or is the forum loading pretty slow lately?
It takes up to 1 minute until the page is built!

Puttabong 02-16-2008 08:56 PM

subsonic, I experienced the slow loading as well, so I just restarted Apache!

Please tell me if it's better!

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:58 PM

downloaded that too, zephyorth, how much longer do you think we have to wait? What RSS feed should we be looking at?

1207FX 02-16-2008 08:58 PM

it is slow on my end also

1207FX 02-16-2008 08:59 PM

Puttabong, whatever ya did helped...........much better now

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 08:59 PM

yeah...the speeds are better now eversince you setted apache

Puttabong 02-16-2008 08:59 PM

Good, same for me :)

eard 02-16-2008 09:03 PM

wohoo that's a very very good new

1207FX 02-16-2008 09:08 PM

once it is uploaded to a newsgroup, is it automaticly searchable?

demigodz 02-16-2008 09:09 PM

Thanks for putting it on Newsgroups. I got a Easynews account and I try to get everything from there first because of the download speed. This DVD would take about a hour or more to download using P2P Bittorrent technology. I could get it in about 25 minutes using Easynews :)

WinLinMac01 02-16-2008 09:10 PM

downloaded newsgroup commander, somebody tell me how I can check the status, thanks

laxattack 02-16-2008 09:13 PM
