There will be a new version soon, which will support Snow Leopard.
They've announced it for version 2.3 along with better system support and stability.

Do you know if the new version will support a dsdt patch (using dsdt.aml file like on chameleon/pcefi)? I have tested boot think v2.2 and it was running fine on my system.

About my system:
Motherboard: Supermicro H8DAE-2 with nVidia MCP55 Pro chipset which supports up to two Six-Core AMD Opteron 2000/8000 processors
Super Micro Computer, Inc. - Aplus Products | Motherboards | H8DAE-2
Processor: 1x Opteron 8214 (for the time being) :-)
Ram: 4 GB Samsung DDR2 667 Registered ECC Unbuffered
Graphics Card: Nvidia 9400 GT
I also have two SATA hard disks, 120 GB and 640GB , a Sony IDE DVD reader and an Optiarc DVD Recorder. http://www.infinitemac.com/../../ima...c/progress.gif

boot think supports dsdt override since v1, just place your dsdt.aml into Darwin folder and you're done

Did they fix the problem with voodoo trackpad? Before, the trackpad goes erratic with Boothink 2.2

try it out and let us know!
you can do it with any usb stick. just install boot think there, put your kexts/dsdt/boot.plist/smbios.plist and boot from it. no need to mess with your primary bootloader.

Tried with success in my PC (see sig.), only 10.5 for now. It boots perfectly Windows XP from other hard disk.

Putting AHCI or SATA extensions into /Darwin/System/Library/Extensions it can boot from Leopard DVD.

Both commands "# p=-" (hide non bootable partitions) and "# b=3" (timeout for default partition) work well.

Really nice, its on par with Chameleon now I think, unless I'm missing something.
They should really release the source code though, they havent released it yet I think...

no no nooo!
both mac and win installers are for hacks - you can choose where to install BootThink from.
on a real mac you have the original BootCamp, no need for other bootloaders.

george205 09-17-2009 03:12 PM

Original mac->refit

Zarac is right! If you install chameleon or boot think on an original mac,it will not be able to boot after that!
If you want to install a "similar" bootloader on an original mac you can try rEfit, which is a bootloader with lots of options for EFI-based machines. Chameleon/Boot Think are for BIOS-based machines, not for macs....

can this version detect and enable graphics cards like chameleon?
sorry for my English.

Not that I'm aware of such function, but dsdt can hand GFX and it loads it fine.

On to my problem. :p

I can't install Boot Think from SL (USBkey with BootThink is used to boot SL) to SL hard drive's EFI partition. The option to install to EFI partition is disable even after deselecting Boot1 and Boot1h options as stated in the description of the installer. Anyone else have this issue?

MikeHunt79 09-27-2009 12:55 AM

I can't get this to boot 10.5 at all? I normally use boot132, and have my extensions in an initrd.img file, I've extracted them and added the extensions.mkext file, and I just get KP on boot!

Is there a way I can force cpus=1?
