i followed what u said....i removed previous kext NVDarwin....then i installed ATY_Init.kext also gave the permission at terminal

sudo -s
password:
sudo chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/ATY_Init.kext
sudo chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/ATY_Init.kext
sudo rm /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
exit
reboot
then my display same with jus only 1024x768 resolution

Delete the Video card EFI string from com.apple.Boot.plist.

how shall i remove the string frm efi....jus post me the steps to be followed thank u....

Go to Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/
copy the com.apple.Boot.plist to Your desktop. Open with text edit.
Remove these 2 lines:
Save the file, then copy back to original folder.
If You use Chameleon 2, this file is located in the Leopard partition/Extra folder. Copy here too & reboot.

sorry ...hello diskeeper i followed ur steps....mine is chameleon v1.0.12 (i saw at darwin prompt wen boots) then at desktop i edited com.apple.boot.plist using edit text..then replaced with tat original then i rebooted then i checked at desktop here we go http://img200.imageshack.us/i/aftrremoving2lines.jpg/

I had a similar problem with this video card when I flashed it's bios with a similar one (another maker). No injector or efi string could let me change the resolution and I had some artifacts also browsing the web. Finally I flashed back the original bios and it's all right now.
What I mean is that maybe some bios (8400gs line) are the trouble, not the injector.
Anyway it's a bit risky but not impossible but you'll need to get an updated bios file for that.

Delete the Aty_init.kext, and try this

I meant the video bios. You can find many bios here:

Once you get the one you need follow this guide:

There you can download the tools and choose the booting method (it should be done in dos)
I'll be here if you need some help choosing the right bios file.

Anyway, this is the last method you should try, so keep the faith and try everything.

hi diskeeper....i removed aty_init.kext & installed that 9f23 package ...after finishing ....i opened up EFI studio in that i selected my graphic card nvidia gf 8400gs 512mb ...then jus clicked write to com.apple.boot.plist ....then rebooted...it starts up to apple logo then it freezes & again & again restarts repeating same....i dont know what to do....now it is not proceeding into desktop(ideneb).....please help me....:confused: thank u.....

i tried almost all it seems...."nvinject 0.2.1 ,nvdarwin ,nvinstallerv51 ,nvinstaller v41 ,9f23 installer .,but nvdarwin & nvinject after installation i'm getting desktop., but when i try nvinstaller i'm not getting desktop (ideneb)....next what shall i try...? thank u....

hi men i installed using kext helper....but after restart it again same procedure...(freezes) not able to get in desktop (ideneb).......anyway thank u for ur help.....i dont have luck to work wit ideneb on my pc.....its ok....

ATY_init by netkas, thats one of the latest gfx injectors for both ati and nvidia seems to work great.. i tested it once and it worked on 8500GT and 8600GT where for example nvinject failed.

You seemed to do install kext properly (if all other injectors had been removed) but you forgot to rebuild extensions' cache with kextcache command, or boot -f to force rebuilding it.

hi...i think i have done a mistakes so far....i use this command to remove NV* , Ge* at the root device by -s mode
/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
cd /System/Library/extensions/
rm -R NV*
rm -R Ge*
reboot

then all geforce kext & NV kext deleted at /Systems/Library/Extensions/

when ever i install NVinject or NKkush or NVDarwin or NVinstallerv41 or v51 or 9f23 nothing can be found there....so what should now to follow cleanly.....thank u for ur reply....
