10.6.1 still alive after update

My system still in good condition after 10.6.1 update, only one kext (LegacyIOAHCIBlockStorage.kext) make KP after reboot, all the rest is alright, only bad thing are the yellow drives icons on my desktop :)

YHAAA :D

My sound died, though I've yet to attempt any fixes.

fwiw, I'm on a EP45-UD3R and used VoodooHDA and.. HDAEnabler (which I forgot I had and am not sure was ever being used).

Edit: kextcache + reboot has returned functioning sound...

I've fixed my yellow drives with 64bit IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext :D

Survived, no issues so far !

wooops... except tried repairing permissions and it spits out

Code:

Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/DesktopServicesPriv.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Locum" has been modified and will not be repaired.

(updated Remote Desktop too, seems to be that)

Alive and well here.

Hope it fixes my wife's SMTP problems on her REAL Mac. :D

Snow 09-11-2009 07:58 AM

Yep, perfect update here.

I think this is the first time I didn't have to do anything PRE/POST update.

Snow turns out to be even more compatible then Leo :)

Remote agent report is what I have too since updating Remote Agent and normally it should be gone after updating OS, guess not then....

What about our beloved SleepEnabler.kext? Does it still work after the update (Kernel unchanged?) or does it need an update?

Succesfull update here on both systems, i still have a no go on my atheros AR9285 (i think) WiFi card and the sound is there with voodooHDA but with noises and scratches...unusable. Other than that all is working fine :)

sensimeon 09-12-2009 10:01 PM

man i updated my retail macbook and it freakin stalls at the blue screen right before logging in.

how ----ing weak. shoulda stayed with my hackintosh

pcwiz 09-12-2009 10:17 PM

Updated both my MacBook Pro and my hackintosh with the update and everything works fine. The weird thing is that when I updated my MBP using Apple Software Update the update was 9.8MB, but when I downloaded the update from Apple's site to use on my hackintosh it was somewhere around 70MB.

flip360 09-12-2009 10:57 PM

Hi!

I'm using EFI injection for my video card. As for your board, I'm not sure. What chipset?

Cheers! :D

update went without a hitch on my system.

tham50 09-16-2009 03:08 AM

no probs here also.
however 10.6.1 was a BIG slowdown for me. booting time has roughly doubled and working with 10.6.1 is not nearly as smooth as with my 10.5.8 inst. although 10.6.1 is on a much faster disk.
