Hi all
Have installed Zephyrth leo 10.5.2. Just can't make my graphic card work. Installed first the x1600 drivers that was on DVD, but didn't work. After a reinstall of leopard, I replaced some Kext's fils with them from "modbin x1650 8.10.1" The kext's I replaced is: ATINDRV.kext ATIRadeonX1000.kext ATIRadeonX1000GA.plugin ATIRadeonX1000GLDriver.bundle ATIRadeonX1000VADriver.bundle IONDRVSupport.kext modbin says that the kext's is made for Device ID 0x71c6 The only thing that happens its that I get resolution changing, thats good, but I need QE/CL. Any one have some advice? |

talk to firewalk he has the same dev id as you and I with working qe/ci and rez change

ok i think i may be on to something it seems that the atiradeonx1000.kext file or atindrv.kext file may be what is hindering me (i know everyone is thinking those are the drivers you need). i have to find out a way to get those to recognize that i have an agp card not a pci-e card, i have been trying to use agpgart, and natit which with out the other 2 kexts loaded just fine and detected my card but of course no qe/ci, and i didnt even try to change rez. so if anyone wants to help me in developing a way to get this to work for agp i would be greatfull

firewalk's kexts just gave me a kernal panic...Not gonna waste more time on this card. gonna get a Nvidia too day, hope I can make it work. |

strange why it is not working for you. have you done the graphics update from apple?. did you use all three files i sent?..are you using 9.2 with efi?.. i only ask because people keep asking for my kexts and if there not working for you and you have the same setup as me i imagine they wont work for anybody else (saves them the kernel panic).

i have been talking to modbin over at insanelymac and he had created a package for our cards for tiger and is now creating one for leo 10.5.2 since he has the same card dev id but with agp

installed the 3 files on a fresh install of leopard 10.5.2. And was using 9.2 with efi.
But have my new 8600gt up and running now, with QE/CI working :) |
Firewalk, think this .kext will work on a PCIe X1600 Pro 512mb? The kexts that came with Zeph's 10.5.2 get me QE/CI, but no resolution changing, and plenty of mouse tearing.
I had some kexts for 10.5.1 that worked real nice. QE/CI, full resolution. But they don't work correctly in .2 :( Dev ID is 71C2 |
you would need to add your dev ids into kexts and hexed in but they should

Hi everyone, i'm new to this forum, glad i made it here. ok enough talking:P, i'm writing in this thread because i'm also going to buy the sapphire radeon x1650PRO 512MB, and i'll be installing Zephy's 10.5.2 Rev. 2 on my 4200+. I don't know much about mac's yet, i read through forums and found out that this Vid card would work, but i would have to do a graphics update or something and i have no clue how to do that:(, can anyone help me here plz. what kext or installer i would have to use to make this card work for my leo.
