Apple Tablet

If Apple releases a 9.6" multi-touch tablet computer with built-in 3G wireless connectivity in February 2010 at a price point between like $399 and $799, are you interested in buying one? :)

With or without solid state hard disk drive?

Depends on the hardware specs...

If it has everything a MacBook Pro has in smaller quanities, then I would go for it, if it is similar to a MBA with a touchscreen I wouldn't but it :)

Not sure. Probably not. I prefer to carry my MacBook with me - but we'll see. If it will be worth it....=)

im rlly looking forward(if its cheap) to the 3G compatabilty, just pop in my iPhones sim and bam, unlimited internet!

If its just for 3G/HSDPA there are quite a few alternatives already available.
Anyway I doubt they cant adapt OS X to be handled by touch easily, and an overpriced 9/10" 3g no voice touch tablet running iPhoneOS cant compete with neither a plain iphone nor a non touch windows netbook.

you'd be amazed.. they could do some stuff like what Dell did.. tht comp handles pretty well.

I'll have to reserve judgement until I can actually play with one, I can think of a few applications where such a device might be a good fit.

Right now my thinking is if it's over 600 i have no interest in it. Why get a tablet for 1000 when you can get a full macbook for the same (or less)? If it turns out they want that kind of money for it they'd better really deliver on the 27th.

If I can justify it for work purposes. ;) I tether to a 12" Powerbook for all my location photo shoots. Its showing its age. I assume they will deprive it of any USB ports. I really don't understand that mentality. I managed to get a few more years out of the powerbook by purchasing a PCMCIA USB 2.0 card to tether to some of the newer cameras that do not have firewire. We considered a new macbook this year. I really didn't take notice in the past but it appears that only the most expensive 17" pro model comes with an express card port.

Well that is enough of my rants. I am sure that only good things can come out of this kind of release.
