LAN : Works with patched Intel82566MM kext
FireWire: Works out of box

Get the DSDT Patcher

gamingfusion 10-12-2009 03:52 PM

ok i got that tool and ran it but im still getting a kernal panic.

Would i have to get the ICHFix?

Did you put the patched compiled DSDT.aml in /Extra or in the partition's root?
Also why it doesnt work? There could be many reasons why SL doesnt boot apart from missing a patched DSDT.

well i have it in both spots kuzz i didnt know which place to put it.

and i get a Kernal Panic

gamingfusion 10-13-2009 04:52 AM

I got rid of the dsdt.aml from the root directory and rebooted.

heres it exactly what im getting for a kernal panic
Quote:

panic(CPU 0 caller 0xffffff80002cbf74): kernel trap at 0xffffff7f8077bae1, type 14=page fault, registers...

Error Code: 0x0000000000000000

Debugger called:<panic>
Backtrace(CPY 0), Frame: Return address...

Kernel Extension in Backtrace(with dependencies):
com.apple.iokit.IOATAFamily(2.5.0)@0xffffff7f80777 000 -> 0xffffff7f80785fff

Mac OS Version:
Not yet set
not sure if that will help

*note* where the "..." are those are in place of a bunch of crazy numbers i didnt think were needed *end note*

You may have found the issue described here.
Try to fix it with kext mentioned there or if you have the sec. IDE channel disabled try to re-enable it in the BIOS.

gamingfusion 10-13-2009 05:58 PM

k thanks man i will try to fix the kext tonight.

gamingfusion 10-14-2009 01:16 AM

OK that worked i got booted but then i got another kernal panic.

This time its the CPUPowerManagement.kext but i cant seem to find a downlaod for a Snow Leopard one,

Know of a download for one?

gamingfusion 10-14-2009 04:45 AM

ok i got that problem fixed it was a bad kext file again.

Now it boots fine but when you get to the GUI, I can move my mouse but i cant interact with the interface.

Im really not sure what this is.

hello? *BUMP* :D

Gaming Fusion I am on the same quest as you Installed SL yet not that stable as yet. No QE/CI have just tried the SilentNatit.kext and it pulled the graphics right then gave a KP and that was that.

Try a search for Macinized for how to patch your DSDT.

Any joy let me know.

Cheers.

Please post details about your graphics hardware and what method you used to get it supported.

I installed SnowLeopard last week and i have great problem with the startup. here are the problems i am having.

- nullCPUPowerManagement.kext not working(having to replace kext and repair permissions before almost every startup)

well i found out that the reason why it didnt work.

Its because the startup is slow. after about 3 or so minutes it starts to work. but what weird is that its still loading up apps like skype or the SL install disc.

i thought you were supposed to put dsdt.aml in /

or root in other words. is it supposed to be in /Extra ?
