Everytime I try to install VoodooHDA my computer KP's. like, i can get the kext to instal with kext Helper b7 but then on reboot it KP's when it scans for HDA codecs... With OSx86 Tools it KP's right away.. pics attached.. Please help, its the only way I get sound.. and I even tryed removing Extensions.mkext to no avail..
it did this on 10.5.8 with 9.6(i think) AnV, and im on 10.5.6 with 9.5 Voodoo |
Why don't you use Turugas AppleHDA Patcher? :)
ALC860 doesnt work... I have already tried, almost every method out there, and this is the only one that works. please any ideas?

Buy an USB Sound Adapter. BTW, ALC sound quality sucks.
100% OSX compatible (10.5 / 10.6) - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16812186046 |
id prefer to not waste my money on something I dont need. i have gotten sound out before with VoodooHDA and Id like to continue using it.
bump.. anything at all????
Post a codec dump from a Linux System and maybe one created by using "voodoohdahelper -dump" and I might try to create patched AppleHDA for you...
doesnt work.. i made one straight from Linux and the patcher said ALC880(not 860) and it totally didnt work.
The codecs commercial names sometimes dont match their real pci names, i.e. ALC889A that shows up as ALC885.
Try using the lastest patched VoodooHDA version, you have 0.2.1 in the panic sshot, and report the panic in that thread, maybe the developer that is fixing it can help you. Also there is a fixed IOPCIFamily for Snow from the same person (Slice), as the kernel panic you posted mentions it in the backtrace maybe it can help you. |
im on leo... 0.2.1 is the newest, on the site atleast.
maybe ill try going bak to 0.2.0 maybe 0.2.1 is snow... EDIT k well no 0.2.0... i dont know wut to do.. |
The last version in http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=355 is 0.2.51 I think...
I tried that one 2... it keeps kernel panicking... ugh, i dislike my computer :(
