Problelm To Install Snow Leopard
I followed this guide to install Snow Leopard on my Dell Inspiron 1420.
I mounted the Snow Leopard image to an external hard drive instead of a USB flash drive.Darwin boots correctly, but when it gets to the Apple logo, it tells me to push the power button and restart again. I have Leopard installed already on one of the partitions, but it barely works. It works enough, so I can mount the image. Can anyone show me a way to install Snow Leopard on my Dell Inspiron 1420? These are my specifications: Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 Intel GM965 Intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME) DDR2 Dual Channel 3072MB Mobile Intel® 965 Express Chipset Family Sigmatel HD Audio Broadcom NetLink Fast Ethernet Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN |
have you tried a different guide?

No, I didn't try any other guides.
Can you show me links to some guides? |
Here's a picture of what happens:

Ok, here's the link of the picture that I took:http://s255.photobucket.com/albums/h...t=P1000303.jpg
I couldn't get it to post properly. As to booting with -v: I can't get to any screen that lets me enter these letters. (But there's a screen where you can boot with safe mode, or verbose mode anyway.) The computer has been set to AHCI since I bought it. I'll come back and try those other two methods you suggested. |
Your picture is small, i barely see anything.. It is an Kernel Panic.
It will be easier to help you if the error message can be seen clearly. By the way -v = Verbose. |
This might be a little betterhttp://s255.photobucket.com/albums/hh134/Yoloni/?action=view¤t=P1000303-1.jpg

He said he cannot boot into OSX at all after install.. if that kext will fix his problem then he can put it on the boot cd if he has the knowledge.
Yoloni: Have you tried booting into OSX HDD with Rebel EFI CD? Have you tried to set to IDE in bios? |
