Hi, I installed your image. Thanks fr making it. I have managed to get past the infinite loop. I still have the following problems to fix but I am a noob and I don't know what to do.
1. I have a NVIDIA Geforce 7600 and I think your current drivers are not appropriate. HYow can I remove your drivers and install the NVINJECT ones? 2. My sound is AC97 ALC850 and I need to install a kext for it but I've never done that before. Can someone give me the commands please? 3. Neither of my LAN ports work. I think one of them is NVIDIA and the other is Marvel yukon, |
Hm, ALC 850 Audio should work without problems. What do you have for a board? I have an Asus A8N-SLI Premium, this has ALC850 Audio, nForce 4 LAN and Marvell 88E0001 LAN, sounds rather similar.

The driver for NVidia cards is NVinject if you selected it during installation .
omg I didnt see anywhere that I was supposed to select it during install.
My board is an DFI LANPARTY NF4 Ultra D. So I don't have to reinstall everything, how can I add it now? |
Hm, this board should be working out of the box. Mine has the same components, and I have no problems. Try a reinstallation. Had you problems with Tiger?
I never installed tiger. This was my first try. The install went very simply but I didnt see anywhere I could select my hardware.
If you get to the installation window, after selecting the installation drive, there must be a button 'Customize' or else on the left bottom.
Hmm I think thats what i didnt do. I feel really stupid. Is it best to reinstall with this customize button?
always try ;) Do you have a seperate harddisk for MacOS X Take a look at my installation guide, I use it on all my machines and it saves me a lot of installations. But you don't have to need a Tiger image first.

ok I went back in to reinstall and I found the customize button but it only has some nvidia 8800 drivers. Nothing for my sound card or land drivers or NVINJECT. Am I trying the wrong version or something? I downloaded it yesterday from Pirate Bay.
The title is NVidia 8800 Drivers but it should work with your card as it is NVinject 0.1.3. Just choose the right amount of VRAM.
The forcedeth Lan driver is installed. The only driver for audio is AC97. |
ok so now i ran installed it with nvinject option and it seems like its going through it ok but now its doing something it didnt do last time - it seems to be crashing when it tries to mount one of my ntfs drives. I dont have windows anymore but there is a lot of important data there so I am going to run a recovery disk to check it. If you have any other advice I would appreciate it.
ok, so I ran a recovery disk and there were no errors but it is still hanging when it tries to load the ntfs partition. hmm. I don't know what to do.
Hm, what do you mean with load the ntfs partition? If it first wants to access it? Do you have your Windows HD removed during the installation?
During the boot while the O/S is loading it lists the ntfs partitions. I think it is mounting them. Thats when t just stops on one of them.
Boot with -s and type this
mount -uw / cd /system/library/extensions rm -r ntfs.kext reboot |
it still hangs. I give up. Thanks for trying.
Tell me the drives you have connected and which partitions are on them, including file format.
i have the same problem , leopard installs to the 3rd partition on hard disk (1st is winxp ,2nd vista both ntfs) after install reaches 100% ,reboot (remove dvd from tray during boot loader) leopard starts loading and reaches a point where it is loading the xp and vista partition (i guess by what it says) and it stalls just after ,waited 2min a little hd activity and then nothing forthe next 30min.
i tried changing kext's deleting kext replacing ,onboard lan on/off ,sound on/off ,tiger is installed on a seperate hard drive it runs fine. i am gonna try switching leopard to the single disk and tiger on the partition ,as i have tried everything else in many forums. amd sempron 3200 ide maxtor hd ide west dig hd asus m2v-mx<green> ati hd2400 video card |
