Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD Intel_Amd (sse2/sse3) EFI V8
you can find HELP on: #kalyway.DVD irc.osx86.hu #leopard irc.osx86.hu Read carefully !!! if you want adding drivers support to dvd boot you must put the Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd folder on your desktop then put kexts you want add to dvd extensions in the ADD_KEXT_TO_DVD folder (you can find natit for ati hd in this folder) and run Add_kext_to_dvd_boot.command !!! all ich support ! sitll remain problem with jmicron ide dvd support ! based on slipstream script by DENSE ! wink.gif ichx (all ports) support by DUNE ! wink.gif Notes: if you have problems on reboot with video gfx (blue or black screen) All you have to do is just press F8 at Darwin's prompt and then type -s (single user mode) then at root type mount -uw / and /movevideodrivers then it will be prompt to move video drivers by class ( nvidia ; ati ; or intel gma) voila! type yes to confirm or enter to skip ! Even if you have chosen a kernel at install, you can still try the others kernels after installation ! (same thing for dvd boot except that only modbinkernel , speedstepkernel , kabylkernel and nforcekernel are available as boot options !) Is there proper support for the ATi SB600 chipset in this release? I have had major issues with the Zephyroth release being SuperSloooooooooow.. :(

Whats with the cpus=1 flag is that only for install for best stability? or does it apply to the system once installed? Im going to try this as i have nothing to looas with my lovely time machine backups ;).

Installed with no issues, but no ethernet. ALC882 works out of box - actaully heard the music during the "Welcome" animation for the first time. Also have problem getting my RT73 wireless adapter to work. It worked once, now it isnt recognized by Ralink wireless utility, but does show in system profiler.
Best OOB experience yet. |
I downloaded this iso but when I try to boot from the dvd, it goes all the way to the setup menu but then it just freezes. I can't click on the menu bar or anything. Anyone else have this problem too?

I burned the ISO with CloneCD |
this error could mean 2 things
1 your letting the dvd time out ;P 2 your machine cant use efi only way to know is if a different dvd w/ efi has booted for you |
My expirenct with this dvd was mixed. Durring the instal there was an always repproductive error following the ./dumpemacs.sh script something was causiong the kernel to segfault ont hat script resulting in QE/CI not working. so im back to my happy Zeph 10.5.2 install running 9.2.0 sleep kernel.

Will this release support the burning of cds/dvds on sata dvd-rws??? Zeph releases doesnt as of Rev 2

if you have sata dvd drives you can't even boot to the installer well atleast i can't
it has the same kext as zeph 10.5.1 so it doesn't have the new ones for amd so no you will not beable to burn disc with this install you will have to wait until meDevil updates his kext |

Isnt the new kext from MeDevil working for SATA Cdroms/DVD-rom? I thought it was.. If so will adding it to the dvd work? because there is a install script to add kexts to the dvd. just a thought. |
yeah but everytime i try to add the kext it say i don't have permission to do that
and the iso is read/write and the file is read/write i don't know what i am doing wrong to put that kext in there |

open up the terminal type sudo then drag the whatever.command in the terminal then press enter type password at the prompt another way would be doing sudo su - then drag and drop again |

it didn't have the right path in the .command file to where my iso was at |

Hey aljonama, Did you possibly try to install it with an external harddrive? This error only occured to me a very long time ago, when I was trying to use a Plextor External Drive to install Leopard.
The problem could also very likely be an unsupported IDE controller. ------ Hallo aljonama, benutzt du möglicherweise ein externes Laufwerk um Leopard zu installieren? Der Versuch, mit meinem Plextor Laufwerk (Brenner) Leopard zu installieren, hat mir genau diesen Fehler gebracht. Ein internes Laufwerk dagegen funktionierte gut. dank für Deine Hilfe in deutsch erst einmal: Ich habe einene internen Brenner ---> Hl-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4167B ATA Device vo LG und gebrannt habe ich das ISO mit DVD Decrypter 2-4x Geschwindigkeit. Ich habe auch vor einer halben Stunde das ganze mal bei einem Freund getestet. Der hat einen Intel-PC neuester Generation mit eingebautem Sata DVD-Laufwerk und da kam genau der gleiche Fehler. Er hate auch dann mal im BIOS (ich glaube es heisst AHCI oder so) eingestellt, gleiche Problem... Gruß A Nachtrag... Iste es richtig das auf der ISO (aus Windows) nur 2 Dateien zu sehen sind: eine Boothelp.txt und CDboot.pcefi ??? |
Also bei mir ist das genauso.
Das liegt daran das es eine Mac CD ist, und man unter Windows diese dateien nur mit Hilfe von zB Mac Drive sieht. Das Problem mit dem SATA Brenner wäre mir aber neu... Ich hab zwar auch einen Sata Brenner, aber dieser funktionierte bisher einwandfrei für Leopard usw. usf. Aber komischerweise bei diesem Release nicht. |
ok , aber wenn ich mir z.B. die leo4all dvd anschaue, dann sind aus Windows-Sicht andere Dateien zu sehen. Bei dr Kalyway sieht man wie gesagt nur die
Boothelp.txt und die cdboot.pcefi Datei. Ich hab mir das ISO nicht via Torrent, sondern über einen Link von Gulli.de gezogen Hab ich mir jetzt ein unvolständiges Image gezogen: edit by mod: Don't post such links here, please. Thank you! |
Oook, lost me there. lol. At any rate, with Zeph release of Rev. 2 I can install, and view my sata dvd-rw. It will not burn at all though no matter what program I use. Does this release fix that problem? And/Or did MeDevil release a fix for his kext so that I can just apply it to Zeph Rev. 2?

I don't know if any one else having problem installing a new kexts with this release! After I installed Leopard I tried to install the sound drive and the Syslink wifi drive I have them but after I install them and reboot still no sound or wifi connection! I tried to to find the drives if it installed or not, I found out there is no update. I did tryed different way but every time I reboot my new drives will it will be gone!!!!! any idea?

So after spending so much time trying to get my card to work with OSX, i was confirmed by someone that my graphics card, NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 isn't compatible at all with any versions of OSX. Can someone tell me where I can get a cheap graphics that is compatible with OSX. I'm looking for around $50 not anything fancy, just to run osx and its amazing features. Thanks to you all. |

Just wanted to suggest the same.
The 7300 GT is cheap and works very well for OSx86 use. It's fully supported. If you think about spending a little more, try the GeForce 7600 GT. It's a very good choice as well. :-) |

I will definitely look into the graphics card. One more question: Is my sound card compatible with OSX leopard? My sound card is Realtek High Def. Audio with device instance path: HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_103C2A61& REV_1001\4&333E7B7D&0&0001 ... IDK if that helps anyone, but someone said that this is an ALC0888. It has 6 ports (center/sub, front, back, microphone, line in, side) I've tried everything but I couldn't configure. Oh also its an internally built in my motherboard, its not something I added on later. Has anyone been experiencing system reboots with this release of Kalyway 10.5.2? my system dont stay up longer that 8hrs max. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

My sys is suffering from random reboots on Zeph's 10.5.2 R1 but no solutions have worked for me. There is a thread titled "Mouse movement bug" dealing with random reboots. Some solutions work for different systems. Some not. Was thinking of trying Kalyway next but if the same prob is still there.... Can you describe how your reboots are happening, when left alone? Blue screen? spinning dial? grey screen? |

Actually I am using Kalyway's 10.5.2 intel/AMd ver currently, I have also used Zephyroth ver2 which I must say did not have this problem but did not run out-of-the box, I have to make some small configs. Kalyways worked right from the install except for this reboot issue. I have just lowered my DDR2 ram speed and have put idlehault=0 in my startup script so I'll see what happens now. PPC Applications don't seem to work with Zeph's 10.5.1 Rev.2 + Eddie11c 10.5.2 Updater either here! For example CocoModX worked before, but does now crash on startup - How do I revive the support for them, as they worked before the update to 10.5.2.

I have no problems with PPC progs on every zephyroth image, even with 10.5.1 RC2 + Update. Toast and some other progs aren't working with Zephyroth 10.5.2, but they're working with Kalyway 10.5.2.
