I was just wondering if anyone had a fix or solution to the mouse movement bug issue that is present in a very long thread on this forum, I've read through most of it but other than disabling one cpu is there any fix to the issue that could allow 2 CPU's :). I know reading somewhere that someone replaced their SMBios.kext with the netkas one and that it made their system stable, but I'm not entirely sure if that's related. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

I still have the issue as well,
Thought I had a fix by disabling Spread Spectrum in Bios, gave me 1day8hrs uptime (normally I'd get about 8hrs) but as we speak my system is rebooting after the notorious bug(ger) reared it's ugly head again. Haven't tried the netkas SMbios trick yet, think that's next on the list for me. What have you tried so far apart from cpus=1? my quick specs: Msi K9AGM2, AMD 64 x2 6000+, NX8600gt 512mb, 2GB DDR 667 Ram. Zeph 10.5.2 R1, 9.2.2 kernel. |
Try IDLEHALT=0, worked for me and others! :)

@Voyn1x: Been there man, pretty much everything on the old mouse bug thread, I've tried.
http://www.infinitemac.com/comments.php?DiscussionID=753&page=14#Item_11 Still stuck with the problem, everything seems to have some kinda effect, longer/shorter uptime, but nothing seems to have fixed it. |
try a different version of osx86 leopard
there are a few out there |

Yeah, I'm burning Kalyway's Latest version now. Lotta people seem to be happy with it so I'll see if I can join them |

just type it into the boot prompt. It seems to disable CPU idle. I seem to track this problem down to broken LAPIC implementations (both my boxes have it broken, so no cpu idle in linux). Might be same issue in OSX.
|
...as above or add it to the com.apple.boot.plist then you don't need to type it in everytime. The only bad side effect is that your cpu will run around 10 degrees hotter than normal :(

Kalyway version has given me no issues with this anymore, been running all weekend without a hitch. Farewell mouse bug, take your twitching with you!!!

try leo4allv3. better than kalway! :)
|
is leo4allv3 already released?..
edit: oh, "bayed" it :) |

I'm still having this problem too. Does anyone else have a problem with the Apple Time slowly going out of sync? I've tried pretty much all the releases (Kalyway, Leoforallv3, Zephyroth) and idlehalt=0.
|
Works on my system (Apple-Time of course)

just installed leo4all v3. It's the first leo install where all my h/w works out-of-the-box (I mean - full graphics and audio). Sleep does work too. But the same bug (or pretty similar one) is reproducible without idlehalt=0. *sniff*

Good to hear it worked out of the box. Same result was for me. ;D

i've had this problem too on my nf4 based barebone, but after i'm using wlan now and deleted the forcedeth.kext i havent the problem anymore.
using zeph 10.5.2v2 on shuttle sn26p (nforce 4 SLI, opteron 165(using both cores), 2 gb ram, gf 8800GTS 320 and sata HDDs |
So far, i've tried the idelhalt=0 method and no luck. idlehalt=0 does prolong my uptime, but the -10810 error and app crashes still occur. Im willing to test out another release if necessary, but i like zephyroth's easy install. ;)
I have iATKOS v1.0i on my Sony VAIO VGN-FE780G notebook, and the only things that aren't working are bluetooth, my intel Pro 3495a/b/g and the battery monitor. All of which don't really affect the performance at all. But the 1 issue i see on my desktop really affect usage. my Specs: Desktop: OS X: EFIv8 | GUID| Zephyroth's 10.5.1 + Kalyway 10.5.2.Combo & Kernel update CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200 @2.21Mhz Mobo: MSI K9N4-SLI Chipset: nForce 500 SLI Memory: 2GB Patriot 667Mhz DDR2 (1x1GB, 2x512MB) Video: BFG GeForce 8600 GT 512MB (PCI-Express) Monitor: LG Flatron L22WT (DVI) HD1: Maxtor 250gb PATA (OS X 10.5.2 Zephyroth Main Partition / OS X 10.5.2 Zephyroth Test Partition) HD2: Maxtor 20gb PATA (Win XP) Working: Audio (CMI8738), Ethernet (Airlink 101 ASOHORL) Video (EFI GFX String) Any ideas? |
