What do our usernames symbolize? Simply asking, what do they mean? Share their meanings with the OSx86 community. WinLInMac01 for me means, Windows, Linux, and Mac is # 1. Get it? Win=Windows, Lin=Linux, Mac=Mac OS X, however, 01 means that Mac OS X is number (#) 1! =) - Cheers!

What does your username mean?

Puttabong 04-23-2008 11:03 PM

Darjeeling Puttabong Tea, First Flush (picking) is a light bodied, green infusion with a light flowery flavor.

Ianxxx 04-24-2008 12:50 AM

ian because its my name xxx cos I couldn't be arsed to think of something to fill in the remain characters.
I suppose it could be my deep down urge to become a porn star but it isn't.

And please people call me ian not Lan and that's not a dig at any one person I seem to be getting it all the time.
I guess ian being a galic name is rare except in the uk.

naquaada 04-24-2008 01:09 AM

Naquaada (original written: Naqahdah) is the material from which the Stargate is built of. That stuff's like me: powerful, has high energy, great potential if you know how to use it, - but it's not from this world ;-) In the logo you'll see that a travel though the Gate is always worth a try (you see what's awaiting you).

BTW: There are a lot of X's in the names - does anyone else have a Q ?

R0GUE 04-24-2008 01:11 AM

I guess I like being a Rogue :-)
Mine evolved from a gamertag I used back in the early 90's paying homage to one of my favourite comic characters: Rogue Trooper. He featured in a publication called 2000 A.D. which some of the older readers from the UK might remember.

Derwood 04-24-2008 03:59 AM

My nickname from when I was pledging my fraternity. My real name is Darren, but I came into the fraternity house one day when people were watching the 60's TV show Bewitched (USA). The husbands name was Darrin, but the mother-in-law called him Derwood, Dagwood, and a few other things. I instantly became Derwood.....

CyCLoBoT 04-24-2008 04:44 AM

zuz242 04-24-2008 02:22 PM

well, the zuz part is really old, dating back in the time of c64 and acarde games.
most highscores only had 4 characters to fill in, so the name had to be short.
i guess the name was based on zuzka, a east europaen girl i had a chrush on
in an international youth camp back in the eighties ;)

as for 242, it stands for the nice, romantic, sunny & sublime band of front 242.
well, rather harsh electronics that is ;) i had to add this because usernames are
not 3 digits anymore..

spy974 04-24-2008 04:51 PM

hummm.
Do you know spy vs spy comic ? (I knew it in the mad magazin) > spy
974 is because zip code of my country (Reunion Island) begins with 974.

Actually, my real nickname is spy. But I had 974 due to loginname restriction ( 6 chars min.)

Darth Vader 04-24-2008 10:13 PM

Darth Vader

every one has seen me. But what is behind the mask? I´m also an old man. 35 years of computer experience.
In 1972 my live changed.

=> The first TI pocket calculator visited my desktop.

In the early eighties my live changed again.

=> Star Wars!

The next project started. The aim: To look like Darth Vader on the next "Faßnacht". Since that time, my nickname is Darth Vader.

In 2007 my live changed again.

=> Zephyroths Leopard appears.

The next project: "You will see in cinema."

Dude! They use the old (American) "Wild West" term for a "fiesty" horse in OZ??? I thought that was only here in Arizona (well, and Denver)...

To stay "on topic" my user name is - just my name.

naquaada 06-06-2008 03:33 PM

There was also a Ford Bronco :-)

(translated by Google)

nfoav8or 06-13-2008 11:43 PM

nfoav8or came about when I joined the service. I'm a Naval Flight Officer (NFO) which is also an aviator, hence the av8or...

naquaada 06-14-2008 06:02 PM

If you rearrange the letters, it could be '8 no favor' which sounds like 'ain't no favor'. Don't think this was supposed to be... ;-)
