Please don't hesitate to post your About This Mac Graphics into this thread :)

roisoft 01-07-2008 07:31 PM

Me second :D

The image has unfortunately been removed by the image hoster.

Puttabong 01-07-2008 09:55 PM

Hehe, very nice!

jshanh 01-07-2008 10:29 PM

Heres mine, kinda simple, but its for the kids. :)

Puttabong 01-07-2008 10:33 PM

jshnanh, I think that you should really make that graphic transparent, so the white spot around the graphic dissapears!
If you can't do it yourself, send me your .tiff, and I'll fix it for you.

Greetings

jshanh 01-07-2008 10:35 PM

Hey Thanks a ton!! I was wondering how to do that. Do I need to use photoshop or something?
Ive got all the graphic software i will never need :)
Ill give it a try, and if no go, Ill send you the .tiff file, Thanks Puttabong.

Puttabong 01-07-2008 10:42 PM

Yes, I use Photoshop CS3.

No problem, glad to help. :)

jshanh 01-07-2008 11:07 PM

Yea! I did it. I forgot to check the "save transparency info" when saving the tiff,
Thanks for the help.

Puttabong 01-07-2008 11:51 PM

@jshanh:

Btw, you can make perfectly nice screenshots like mine (which include the shadows),
by using the following simple keyboard commands:

command+shift+3 -> Full screenshot
command+shift+4 -> Crosshair to allow selection of screenshot area
command+shift+4, then spacebar -> Camera to capture specific screen object

I chose the last method of these for my Screenshots. :)

Nice graphic ;-)
I think it's made by yourself, isn't it?

@ Puttabong:

Couldn't you create a little program which looks like the 'About this Mac' window, but with an drag'n'drop-field for graphics? It also but contain the function to auto-insert the CPU name (which is maybe changeable with an text field). This prog could be placed with Marvin's AMD Utility in a folder 'AMD Utilities' in the Applications folder. And someone else could create some nice 512x512 Leopard icons for the additional Tools.

Firewalk 01-30-2008 01:26 AM

To change the 'About This Mac' Graphics, go to
/system/library/coreservices/loginwindow/contents/resources

Once you are there, replace MacOSX.tif with the new one (the name must be MacOSX.tif).

[cite] megaargon:[/cite]LOL LOL LOL IMAO, I just have to say, that made me laugh off my seat.

As I was saying, if there is a software utility that can do this for me. According to another thread, I noticed that users had to edit a few strings here and there, and I am not up for that especially with this kind of Mac.

Changing one picture, changing one line of text, sudo chown etc etc. It doesnt come much easier than that. Be brave lol

iero 02-14-2008 04:29 PM

Mine.

http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/9381/picture1ue5.png

Don't know why my opteron procs are "unknow".

iero 02-14-2008 08:51 PM

Ok, thanx man. I will dig for the corresponding file when I can boot my system again.

I installed nvidia universal.. and new forcedeth drivers, and everything is broken.

I'm a little tired to try to have this system working. I will try on another computer with a nvidia quadro fx 5500. Maybe this one is too old.

iero.

damnesiac 02-14-2008 09:03 PM

nvidia universal is easy to fix... http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=83931&st=120&p=620978&#entry62 0978

delete forcedeth and use your marvell yukon if you can

cgsheen 02-16-2008 04:33 AM

Let's see if I can post mine:

Ianxxx 02-16-2008 04:49 AM

Your more than welcome, don't suppose you can help me with a problem? See thread I just started.

FoneBone 02-16-2008 07:16 PM

Here is mine...

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 08:16 AM

Here is mine. However, I had to manually change my info. Zephyroth said it would be done automatically. However, that was not the case.

WinLinMac01 02-18-2008 11:34 PM

I thought my processor information would automatically show. How come I had to change the cpu info manually with Zephyroth's new release? Thank you for your support. Very appreciated. =)

WinLinMac01 02-19-2008 08:22 AM

How do you add a Startup disk info in the About this Mac graphics?
I don't seem to have that. Thanks.

I've never added it. I think it's always been there in all of my installs...

cgsheen 02-20-2008 06:34 AM

Look at mine now. Notice the "z" for Zephyroth?
No, I didn't change the version string in "AboutThisMac.strings"....

WinLinMac01 02-20-2008 07:45 AM

@cgsheen, that doesn't make any sense. Isn't it 10.5.2 by default?

cgsheen 02-20-2008 01:32 PM

There's another string list (SystemVersion.plist) that contains all the version information. Including the: "ProductUserVisibleVersion" ... I didn't dare change anything else, but I figured it's the "user visable" entry, so...
