I once installed MacFuse 1.3 + ntfs-3g 1.2230 to gain the full access to ntfs partition, but suffered with the problem of slow shutdown, in verbose mode it said ntfs-3g ignore the SIGTERM message, so system had to wait 30 secs to SIGKILL ntfs-3g.
I googled to find out it is a common problem, does the new MacFuse 1.5.1 fix this? Anyone tried? |
Has MacFuse now a real access to NTFS partitions or do you still have to mount them?
|
MacFuse does have real access to NTFS partitions. The updated version fixes the problem, according to another user who was kind to share his experience on a chat. =) It doesn't hurt to try.
|
Do you mean it fix the shutdown problem? I remember NTFS can be auto mount in the previous version of Macfuse, the only problem is slow shutdown.

generalmilk, it doesn't hurt to try. It should work.

Hi,
well, for me it did't unload faster, still the same as before! Maybe I can place another question here: I could't activate Spotlight with macfuse/ntfs3g. All recommendations with setting rights with allow_root and/or sudo mdutil -i on "/Volumes/xxx" did't work for me. Anyone here in this topic who got it to being indexed? P |
well, before this problem solved, I wont use Macfuse+ntfs-3g combo.
or someone writes a script that can auto umount ntfs partitions when logout, I once tried but I suck with writing scripts. |
Well then, your mileage will vary. =)
