Hi,

I have ASUS DRW-1814BLT SATA DVD-RW.
Reads properly , but can not write DVDs/CDs.

I am getting Interface error and also some 0x029 error.

Using Roxio Toast Titanium 9.

I have Asus A8N SLI Deluxe motherboard, so nForce 4 SLI chipset.

Complete config:

AMD Athlon FX-60 Dual Core @ 2.6 Ghz
2 GB Mushkin DDR500 @ 400 Mhz
Asus A8N SLI Deluxe 1805 Bios
eVGA 8800 GT SC 512 MB
Running Leo4all V3 10.5.3 OSx86

SATA DVD drives are a bit problematic, I always would recommend IDE. Does it work in Windows?

yeah. Perfectly.
I even tried Fimware upgrade.

Is there any new nforce SATA kext ?

nope, I wish there was. My HD is amazingly slow :-(

In Xbench whats your score with just Disk Test checked ? Mine is below (Seagate 250 GB SATA II)

In my case, same ASUS drive cannot write DVD-RW, but CD-R and DVD-R can write correctly with SB600; CD-RW has not been tested.

I installed Zelphyroth 10.5.2. Normally it would use AppleVIAATA for SB600 SATA. But it causes same problem as you; unable to write CD/DVD. I changed to AppleAHCI, then I can write CD-R and DVD-R.
